《Uninvited | Jikook Smut |》Chapter 18: Lips Sealed

Another week passed by them as quick as lightning. The murders and kidnappings seemed to take a pause for now as the detectives ducked their heads behind the case to observe from afar. Seokjin hid the fact that they were going to conduct more stakeout missions just to see if Yoongi would know and the murders will suddenly stop taking place… Once they made sure of this, Yoongi had no idea. But, even the secret stakeout mission was blown off since two more officers were kidnapped beyond Yoongi's knowledge. Meanwhile, Jungkook was back in school and he had his internship at the hospital now. He no longer took afternoon classes so that meant, he barely spent time with Yoongi on the afternoon. However, that didn't mean that the older would leave Jungkook alone. He's been by his side everyday but only now, they stopped living under the same roof for each night.

Jungkook felt as if his life was stable now. He sat up in his room and got up to place on a white dress shirt tucked into his black slacks. He adjusted his circular glasses over his eyes and rolled his on hair back happily. Now, he didn't really have space to think of Jimin in his mind. It's been a good week and clinging onto the older like this just slowed him down. Especially since the boy knew Jimin wasn't coming back into his life. Jungkook wanted him way before, but did Jimin want him back? He didn't show anything but a warning once he left and that was it. The boy got ready for his fourth day at the hospital for his internship in the afternoon now, leaving his schedule clear after he comes home from the hospital at 8:30 PM.

“Another day at the internship… I hope they let me see what happens in a surgery room!” Jungkook thought happily as he pushed up his glasses and made his way to the kitchen. He didn't have time to sit and eat a home cooked meal, so he picked up a small, strawberry smoothie and ate from a bag dried seaweed chips as well. With that quick snack, he was out the door in seconds. It was such an odd thing that rarely occurred now; the fact that he was no longer being watched, but that didn't stop the pain he had just building in his shoulder where the tattoo laid. At times, it almost made the boy long to rip his arm open to see what was causing him this pain. But when he looked, there was just the tattoo he had weeks ago.

Most of the time, Jungkook kept his hand over his shoulder and walked down the street to reach the bus stop. As soon as he sat down, he felt the pain of his shoulder just burning as if he felt that there was some bug crawling in his skin. “Ah… M-Maybe I need to tell Seokjin about it…” Jungkook thought and as he gripped onto his shoulder carefully, the pain faded and he was left to question what it was now. It was only time to time where the pain on his shoulder would flash into his body, and with that pain only occurring five times this week, it absolutely killed him for about ten minutes as it took place.

Eventually, the bus arrived and the pain was gone. Making the boy long to tell the detective about it. He wasn't sure that it was linked to the enemy, but it was worth a shot. As Jungkook was on his way to the hospital to work in his internship job, he sat down on a seat by the window in the bus as he looked out of it and stared at the buildings passing by. But just then, the bus slowed down to a red light where it finally came to a stop. As Jungkook was thinking to himself, his eyes soon fell onto a man staring up at the bus with a smile. Of course, it was Jung Hoseok. Wearing his police uniform and having a scar over his own cheek; drawn from the center of his cheekbone, down to the corner of his lip. In which, was pulled into a creepy smile.

Jungkook eyed the officer as Hoseok knew very well who he was staring at. Jungkook sunk down into his seat and felt uncomfortable in seconds while the man just stared and didn't even bother to blink. He was motionless and this just made Jungkook look away. “H-He's there…” Jungkook whispered to himself as he looked around to see if anyone else on the bus saw him, but no one else did. Most of the people ignored the man, however Jungkook just couldn't.

“Young man… Are you okay?” Called out an elderly lady as she held the hand of who seemed to be her granddaughter. She appointed this question to the boy who already sunk down into his own seat from the nerve-racking man staring at him from the outside.

“T-There’s a man outside….” Jungkook whispered and as the elderly lady looked out the window herself, Hoseok wasn't there. Jungkook's eyes slowly focused onto the window again and noticed that Hoseok was gone. This made the boy quickly flinch and look at the elder. “H-He was there…”

“Don't worry mister, maybe you're just like my grandfather! He hears and sees things that shouldn't be there as well.” The young girl spoke out as Jungkook gulped and looked down after. As he soon arrived to the hospital, he looked around the entrance and walked forward. He could have sworn Hoseok was there; staring at him and giving him his usual smile. It bothered him the most and left the boy almost traumatized. As Jungkook stepped inside, he signed in and took his phone out to call Seokjin. As Jungkook stood there, he looked back as if someone was staring at him in that very still second that seemed to last an hour until the clock ticked onto the next minute.

“Good Afternoon, Jungkook. What do you have for me today?” Seokjin asked as Jungkook cleared his throat and placed on his white coat over his own dress shirt to get the day started.

“Seokjin… Something is wrong with Jung Hoseok… You know, that officer at the station? I saw him smiling and staring at me… He's giving me goosebumps.” Jungkook claimed as Seokjin was silent after he heard that.

“Not possible, Jungkook.”

“W-What do you mean it's not possible?! He was outside my bus just staring and smiling at me! He didn't even blink… even before then, he was staring at me at the police station before the first stakeout mission.” Jungkook found himself sputtering as he looked over his own shoulder since the ugly feeling of being watched; increased.

“It's not possible. What officer did you think died that night of the first stakeout mission? Jung Hoseok died about a week ago once he was injected with poison. It was surely him. Then, his brother came over to take care of the body after. No other words were exchanged and by there, his stuff was gone from his desk by the next morning.” Seokjin claimed and left Jungkook just staring at the ground in silence. “He had a very sad life… Poor boy only smiled because he was suffering. At least he's resting now.”

“B-But I saw him… He had a scar on his cheek and how do you know that was him dead at the first stakeout?! I didn't see a scar on his corpse and I couldn't recognize him with that picture.” Jungkook continued as Seokjin pulled up a picture of the crime scene to himself and noticed that the picture seemed different now. It looked like Hoseok and even the detective before recalled it was a different officer in his place. Dead with the same tattoo. Only difference now that it was Jung Hoseok in that picture.

“In the records… It said Jung Hoseok. I assumed that's how he looked and I went with it… Only now, I realize that this picture is different. He has wrinkles under his cheek for smiling too much and the original -if I can remember- had no wrinkles under his own cheek. It is different…” Seokjin said into the call as Jungkook let out an exhale with the fear that came over him. “Then, he must be alive as we speak… But he just doesn't have an identity. Oh, we just found our lead suspect. In fact, I wouldn't say that he's a suspect, he's the main criminal so far! We need to find him. I'm sending all units to look for him, but of course… I'll send them discreetly.” Seokjin advised Jungkook. “Don't worry about it, don't show it… Alright?” Seokjin assured the boy as Jungkook nodded his head and calmed himself down. “Tell me if you see him again… I want to know what street, what time, and what he wore at that hour. See you soon.”

Jungkook hung up after and felt his heart beating out of his own chest. He didn't feel at ease and it scared him to believe that Hoseok seemed to be part of the enemy. For sure, Jungkook believed it was a gang into murders with sick games to play someone's life at. However, what were their motives? What did they want? Jungkook only kept throwing these thoughts up and about in his head until he finally let them go. Just thinking further into something he didn't know, was just killing him slowly.

“What's going on with me…? I need to let this go… leave this to Seokjin and Namjoon… This is only going to kill me if I invest so much time into it.” Jungkook thought as he nodded his head after assuring himself. The boy understood that now, he had to keep his lips sealed to avoid having anyone listen to his conversation, resulting in another mishap occurring this week. Jungkook went about his internship and stood behind the front desk to assist with visitors signing in.

As Jungkook sat there for a good while, he spun his chair around and closed his eyes while the lobby was growing empty in the evening. He could remember all the roses he saw today for the patients within the hospital and thought of how lovely it must have felt to have someone who cared for the other while they were laying in a hospital bed. “Ah, imagine if Park Jimin was to get me a rose while I waited for him at the hospital..” Jungkook thought and kept spinning with his eyes closed. “I'd love that…”

While the boy kept spinning in his chair with his eyes closed, he suddenly heard a familiar chuckle and with that, he was scared to open his own eyes to see Jung Hoseok there… But what came next made his thoughts grow silent. “Jeon Jungkook, if you keep spinning like that, you'll get sick…” Spoke the familiar voice out as Jungkook stopped the chair and suddenly opened his eyes to see no one other than Park Jimin right before the front desk; seeing the boy for the very first time without the screen separating the two. “Hello, Jeon Jungkook. Did you miss me?” Jimin asked with a smile that seemed to ease the boy's dizzy mind.

Jimin wore a red dress shirt tucked into black slacks, attached to black suspenders, a matching tie over his collar, and the coat he had just hanging over his shoulder once he held onto it with his right hand. His brown hair was rolled back and he carried a devilish smile to him that left Jungkook utterly breathless. Park Jimin was perfect through video chat and in real life as well! At that very moment, a chill ran down Jungkook's spine, his heart pounded to the point where he heard nothing else but that. His face was red as if he fell in love with Jimin all over again, like the first time they met over the very first video chat they shared.
