《Uninvited | Jikook Smut |》Chapter 17: My way to you

Jimin sat in front of the big meeting table with the boy as he wrote down a check for the person he had to owe. It was unclear of what type of business Jimin was in, but he never said it around the young boy. As Jimin finished adding in the final zeros behind the number, he looked up at the man by the door and held the check up. “When she comes to pick this up, tell her to keep it quiet or else-”
“Suyong sleepy!” The boy interrupted as Jimin let out an exhale while the other accepted the check that was supposed to go to a woman Jimin owed. “Pa, Suyong sleepy!”
“I heard you once, Suyong.” Jimin answered and as the man smiled at the young boy before walking off, Jimin stood up and took the boy off his high chair. “Pa.. Pa- were you trying to say Park Jimin?” Jimin asked as the boy nodded his head. “It sounded like you tried to call me father.” The man assumed as Suyong giggled and hugged Jimin's body while he was being carried. “Not yet, right?”
“Not!” Suyong replied as Jimin walked down a long and dimmed hall before taking a turn to one and stepping inside. “Room?”
“This is my room. You can sleep here with me for the night… But you won't wake up to me being here. I'll have to fly somewhere very soon.” Jimin advised as the boy grew silent.
“Suyong go…”
“Suyong can't go… It's business.” Jimin told the boy and set the young child over the huge bed with the see-through tent falling around them before joining him there as well. As they laid there together, Jimin didn't bother to change into his sleep wear since he was going to leave for the night and the boy right by his side knew it. “I should teach you how to read and speak more. I was such a good tutor to Jungkook… Why can't I be to you? Ah, look at me… Raising you as my own.” Jimin continued and looked at the boy cuddle up over the older's chest.
“Ma…”
“Your mom is crazy. But not you… You're so adorable, calm and smart. So much different. You don't need her. I saved you...” Jimin whispered to the boy's ear as he laid over him. “Does it hurt when your best friend leaves every time?”
“Suyong sad…” Suyong replied and nodded his head. “Suyong miss Pa.”
“Hey… You know I don't like frowns. Smile… That's the only face I want Suyong to have. Don't you see all your friends here have smiles?” Jimin whispered to the boy that almost sounded close to a demand. “I always come back, don't I? Suyong… Do I scare you at times… When I do my work?” By there, the one-year-old boy didn't answer and yawned. “I'm a scary best friend… Aren't I?” After, there was no answer once again as Jimin looked down to see that Suyong was fast asleep. “And he decided to sleep on my chest… knowing well that I have work…” Jimin thought. The man then caressed the boy's hair back and smiled to himself just having Suyong over his chest.
“Look for the boy with the broken smile….Ask him if he wants to stay awhile...And he will be loved, and he will be loved…” Jimin softly sang to the young boy with his calming and gentle voice, softly caressing Suyong's hair back and made a smile appear over his small face as he slept. After a good thirty minutes, Jimin sat up and set the child over the bed to tuck him in after. Watching over Suyong one last time before leaning over and giving him a gentle kiss over his forehead. By there, Jimin took his luggages from under the bed and started walking out of the room.

The silent and shady man closed the door softly and smiled to himself as he looked up ahead and met eyes with a person holding a flight ticket in their hands. “Is my flight back to Seoul, all set?” Jimin asked and walked forward. The man before Jimin nodded his head and kept on a smile before handing the plane ticket over.
“Yes, first class as always. Enjoy your flight, Mr. Park.” The man spoke and walked off with a perfect posture and the still smile plastered permanently over his face. Jimin paid no attention to the behavior of the man; this was only natural to his eyes now.
“I can't keep myself from you… I'll miss you too much.” Jimin whispered and looked at the plane ticket before letting out a scoff. “Going back there for the second time this month already… Suyong must hate me.” Jimin whispered and let out a laugh with the thought of going to see Jungkook for the first time in person. They left things as friends before. They shared many laughs over the phone and many similarities. Even then, Jimin found it odd how a boy like Jungkook could make him feel so different from his past relationships. In fact, this alone made him feel so drawn to Jungkook to the point where he knew no bounds.
_______________________________________
By the following morning, Jungkook opened his eyes and noticed Yoongi was sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall as he slept. He was so busy watching over the young boy, he fell asleep just protecting him from what was waiting in the outside. Jungkook smiled at the older just laying against the wall. In his own mind, he got over Park Jimin… But his heart still thought of Jimin and his voice. It was like his heart recorded every pitch, every bass, and echo to Jimin's voice, it captured every smile and exhale Jimin had throughout the video chat; keeping every little detail as a sharp and perfect memory the boy would never give up.
Alas, Jimin was never there and there was no point in believing that he would ever come back to the young boy like this. Jungkook loved to imagine Jimin living a better life now and that was enough to keep him calm. Even if he couldn't have his ex tutor, he still wanted the best life for him after. As Jungkook took this very moment to brush his teeth and think of Park Jimin; the only art that stuck to his brain like glue, he looked at the mirror and caught the reflection of Yoongi suddenly blinking his eyes awake so suddenly. His eyes opened wide and it startled Jungkook once he caught it.
“G-Goodmorning, Yoongi. Why did you sleep on the ground?” Jungkook asked and rinsed his teeth with mouthwash after brushing.
“I'm basically your guard now. I protect you.” Yoongi added and made a smile before stretching and walking forward to pick up his own toothbrush and brush his teeth next to Jungkook. “No one looked in through the windows or tried to get in. You're welcome. But… I fell asleep once the clock struck one in the morning. So maybe there was or wasn't someone looking in. Either way, I'm pretty sure the officers probably caught something.”
“You're right. We should check in with the officers outside. Speaking of officers… the disturbing image of Jung Hoseok's smile still haunts my mind..”
“Lucky you. I love his smile. It's creepy but cute at the same time… And hot too. Just imagi-”

“No! No more imagining, Yoongi! Thinking of him just scares me…” Jungkook added and slowly rose his hand over his right shoulder to softly massage his it gently. “C-Can… Tattoos hurt?” Jungkook whispered to himself as Yoongi kept brushing his own teeth. “What's going on with my shoulder today? It hurts a bit…d-down at the center of my tattoo.” Jungkook spoke into his own mind as a knock echoed from the front door of the apartment.
Jungkook's thoughts on his shoulder and tattoo stopped for a second as he made his way over to the door. “Who is it?” He called out as the door suddenly unlocked and opened from the outside, this caused Jungkook to suddenly stumble back in fear. Who was getting through the lock of the door?
Suddenly, the door pushed open and in walked Seokjin and his partner Namjoon. Of course, Seokjin dressed for the occasion in his white dress shirt and rolled up sleeves as Namjoon wore a black dress shirt; holding his daughter in a pink baby carrier wrap. The young baby was cooing as Namjoon walked every step up the stairs so when they finally reached the apartment, the father had to bounce the baby in his arms softly to stop her from crying.
“Alright, he's dead.” Seokjin called out and walked into the house with his arms folded. “I have my warrant here so don't kick me out.”
“W-Who's dead?” Jungkook asked in worry. One part of him was excited to think it was the stalker but with one stare from Namjoon, he just knew he was wrong.
“One of the officers we assigned and the other was taken. Right over the corpse of our dead officer… We found this.” Seokjin added and pulled up a picture through his tablet where he showed the dead corpse to Jungkook. Again, there was no sign of a struggle, just another Band-Aid over what seemed to be the shoulder where they ripped the sleeve of his uniform. Right over the exposed shoulder, there was the Band-Aid and another sticker of a Smiley face. Right under it was another tattoo that read. “I cheated on the game. I'm a cheater who couldn't keep a secret!”
“He was injected with poison… suddenly our killer must be Jigsaw or Joker himself!” Namjoon mentioned and let out a sigh. “They're smart when it comes to running off with murder… We looked everywhere for the surveillance of last night but it's nowhere to be found! Even the camera in the police car vanished and there was no fingerprints to be found.”
“When do you think he was murdered?” Asked Yoongi from the bathroom as he turned around after he looked back at the detective.
“Estimated around four in the morning…”
“I was fast asleep so I wasn't any help anyway…” Yoongi answered and shrugged. “Where's the other?”
“Gone. They took the other officer. I suppose he won? Ah, this is stupid! Protecting Jungkook has just gotten harder. Very soon, Yoongi will die too if he sticks around you… All of us will!” Seokjin hissed in frustration as he looked at Jungkook. “And if we don't do anything… More people with turn up missing and there will be more showing up dead. What are they playing at?! What do they want?!”
“Me..?” Jungkook asked and looked at Yoongi once more and glanced back at Seokjin. “Maybe they want to take me… But, hiding me away isn't what they want.”
“If they wanted you, they would have taken you away from us now. But you're right… Whoever it is, they might not like it when we keep you here. They'll kill and take other officers that stay overnight, so maybe… Laying low isn't the best idea.” Seokjin thought as he took one second to think and stare at Yoongi walk to the kitchen. “Hey, Jungkook… don't worry about the case anymore. We can already see this case reaching a dead end.”
“What…?” Jungkook asked and looked at Namjoon to see that he too was confused.
“It was a pleasure knowing the two of you, but I think we'll be at break until we gather more evidence…” Seokjin told the young man. However, Jungkook was scared and couldn't believe what he was hearing. Just then, Seokjin held his hand out to shake hands with Jungkook and once he did, Yoongi opened the pantry and that's when the detective winked at Jungkook quickly before walking off with Namjoon and his baby within the carrier wrap. The boy stood there and blinked his eyes as the two left and replayed the wink Seokjin gave to the young man before leaving.
Once the door closed and the detectives left, Yoongi looked back to see his friend standing there, trying to process everything. “What the fuck?” Yoongi called out and closed the pantry door before approaching Jungkook. “Did they really just leave the case at that?!” The older seemed concerned now, but not Jungkook. He knew why the detective winked and left after. Of course, there was no reason why they would abandon a case like this… Only wanting Jungkook to know that they won't give up. But why not Min Yoongi?
“I… I guess they did…” Jungkook lied and looked at the time over the clock. “We have to go back to school then and maybe later, I can turn in my intern papers for the hospital now.” Jungkook replied as Yoongi kept looking at him in doubt.
“Aren't you a little worried that the detectives just bailed on you? What about the stalker?!” Worried the man and folded his arms. “You have to lay low.”
“We tried that and it killed an officer and took the other. Imagine if it kills you? I can't have that. Let's just… go to class, we'll be late.” Jungkook concluded as Yoongi stood there with his stare just locked onto Jungkook with no further thoughts rolling in his head. It was only now that the Detective Seokjin knew something no one else did and acted out that part as if he was giving up the case. So the ones listening to them at that moment, wouldn't suspect them performing a stakeout mission for the next. Only keeping the secret between Jungkook, Namjoon and, Seokjin himself.
