Jace’s P.O.V-
Waking up this morning was hell for me but I did get up. I took a quick shower and threw some clothes on, not even caring to take my time. I was excited to see Aiden again even though we had been together the full weekend and I only seen him last night. I also wanted to see Ella. I had missed her so much lately, we were usually together all the time but since we both got boyfriends, we haven’t been hanging out as much. I missed it.
Once I had my breakfast and put on my shoes, I left for school. Reaching the gates, I looked around for Aiden but I couldn’t see him yet, I had got here a bit early anyway so he probably wouldn’t be here for a while. I started walking towards the doors when I heard a squeal. I didn’t have enough time to turn around before I felt someone wrap their arms around my back. I could tell who it was straight away.
‘Hey Ella’ I said as I turned to face her. I could see Mason in the distance, jogging to catch up to us.
‘Hey that’s all I get?’ She said faking hurt.
‘I missed you’ I told her and squeezed her into a hug, she smiled and seemed happy with my answer.
I watched as Mason eventually caught up to us panting and nodded his head at me as a greeting. He turned to Ella.
‘Next time, warm me when you’re gonna take off running’ He told her while trying to regain his breath.
‘Oops! Sorry!’ She said innocently. I laughed at that and she glared at me. I held my hands up as a surrender.
‘Hey’ Someone breathed into my ear.
I shivered and turned to face Aiden. He grinned and kissed me. I could hear Ella aweing in the background. I pulled away and turned to face her and Mason just as Jacob joined our group with his girlfriend Cara. She smiled sweetly and said hi to us all as Jacob done some sort handshake with Aiden and Mason. The bell rang causing us to stop our conversations and go to class. I had first class with Ella. We reached class and sat down beside each other.
‘How are you and Mason?’ I asked her.
‘We’re great. He’s amazing, I’m so glad you introduced me to the three of them, especially Mason. I think I love him’ She told me dreamily.
‘I’m glad you’re doing good, you deserve it’
‘Thanks, you’re the best! What about you and Aiden?’
‘We’re great too, I definitely love him’
We spent the full class talking dreamily about our amazing boyfriends. Ella was so in love with Mason and he was with her too. I could see it. She really deserved to be happy. She was there with me through everything and I don’t know what I’d do without her.

When this class ended, I wasn’t in any classes with Ella, Aiden, Mason, Jacob or Cara. I had to wait until lunch to see them and when the lunch bell rang, I couldn’t have been happier to get out. I reached the lunch hall and made my way over to the table we all sat at. Ella and Cara were sitting there waiting for Mason and Jacob to bring them lunch, they were so lovely to them. I was about to walk over to the lunch line when I caught Aiden telling me to sit down and that he would get me my lunch. I happily agreed.
He brought it over and sat beside me as the other two boys done the same. We spoke about our weekends and what we done. Obviously Aiden’s and I’s, we spent at the beach house. Mason and Ella had went on a date to a really nice restaurant. Cara and Jacob had dinner with Jacobs family and apparently it went really well and they loved her which I was glad for because they were such a great couple, just like Ella and Mason. By the sound of it, all our weekends went great. Mines certainly did.
Once we finished discussing what we done, Ella and Cara sat beside me and we had our own conversation where I told them everything that happened. The three boys were having a conversation of their own and sport or something. I wasn’t really paying attention. I finished my lunch just as the bell rang and took everybody’s trays over to the bin. I dropped the leftovers in it and placed the trays down but as I turned around, I bumped into someone and looking up at the person, it just happened to be Josh. I sighed and hoped for no trouble, I couldn’t be bothered with it. He glared harshly at me.
‘Watch where you’re going freak!’ He hissed, I shrank down. He laughed at this.
I spotted Ella looking for me and when she spotted me, she hit Aiden’s arm and pointed to me. He immediately got up and stalked over with a hard look on his face. Nobody really seemed to notice what was happening and I was glad for that. I didn’t need everyone’s attention on me. Josh still didn’t notice that Aiden was coming our way. He grabbed my shoulder tightly and I cringed at the pain of his grip. Aiden got faster and as soon as he reached us he lifted the arm on my shoulder and twisted it.
‘I’m not sure you want to do that, did I not tell you to stop bothering Jace?’ Aiden said viciously. Josh noticeably blanched.
‘Uh’ That was Josh’s brilliant answer.
‘Just go and leave him alone!’ Aiden shouted before punching him in the gut.
Josh retaliated and punched Aiden in the face. I gasped when I noticed his lip bleeding and grabbed his arm before trying to pull him away. He wouldn’t budge though and was ready for throwing more punches, I quickly shouted on Mason and Jacob while shouting at Aiden, telling him to stop and they ran over, pulling Aiden away from Josh as he fell to the ground from another punch to the gut.

Everyone was looking at us now, I quickly pulled Aiden away from everything with all the force I had and dragged him to the boys bathroom, locking the door behind us. I pushed him to the sink and made him sit down on the edge of it. I didn’t say a word to him as I got some wet paper towels and started to dab his lip with them. He noticed my foul mood and tried to apologize but I ignored him.
He knew I didn’t like fighting or him fighting anyway. He knew I hated attention as well but he still managed to gain everyone’s attention. I hated seeing him get hurt and watching him punch Josh like that scared me. I knew he would never touch me but it was still scary. He was protecting me and I know that but he didn’t have to throw the first punch, he could just have pulled me away from Josh.
‘Jace?’ He said. I ignored him.
‘Come on, talk to me’ He said a little worry in his voice.
‘I’m sorry’ He said dejectedly and let his shoulders droop. I still ignored him.
I finished cleaning his lip and put the paper towels into the bin. I lifted my bag and went to leave but Aiden grabbed my arm and blocked the door. He stared at me as I stared at him and it was completely silent other than our breathing. I know I’ll give in before he does but I was determined to stay mad at him.
‘Jace, please. I’m sorry, I just got angry that he keeps doing this to you. I don’t want you to get hurt!’ He said, his voice getting slightly higher.
I sighed before looking at him, completely serious.
‘Promise me you’ll stop hitting people then, no matter what they do. I don’t care if they hurt me or anyone. You need to stop’
‘I promise’ He said, nodding.
‘Good’ I smiled.
‘Does this mean no more silent treatment?’
‘Yes’ I said.
‘Do you still love me?’ He asked sweetly. I glared at him.
‘Of course I do you idiot!’
‘Thank you!’ He said and pulled me in for a hug. He pulled away and kissed me.
The bell had already rang a good few minutes ago so we had missed the start of class. When we made it to class, we just said we were sorry for being late. We didn’t say why, though I’m sure everyone knew from the cut on Aiden’s lip and the commotion in the lunch hall.
The day finally ended and we all met up. All meaning Mason, Ella, Jacob, Cara, Aiden and I. We spoke about the events that happened today and I told Aiden off again which he frowned at before saying he was sorry again. I ignored his apology though, he was already forgiven even though I was still a little annoyed at the whole situation. We all decided to hang out since we haven’t in a while and figured we should go bowling which sounded really fun to me.
Aiden, Ella, Mason and me all went in Mason’s car while Cara went with Jacob in his. We reached the bowling alley about 10 minutes later and I had called my dad letting him know where I was. He was fine with it and told us all to have fun. I loved bowling and was really excited, I hadn’t been for ages and I was really looking forward to it. I was almost jumping up and down in the seat and I was getting funny looks off of the three others in the car but I was too excited to be embarrassed.
When we arrived, I got out the car quickly and almost ran to the entrance but Aiden grabbed my hand, stopping me in the process and kissed me on the lips. I got lost in the kiss but he pulled away and stared at me.
‘Have you calmed down now?’ He asked, laughing at my dazed state.
My cheeks went red as I realized Ella and Mason were looking at me. I buried my head in Aiden’s chest. I get embarrassed way too easily. After waiting for what seemed like forever, Jacob and Cara turned up. We went inside and changed our shoes to the horrible ones they provided you with. They looked so bad. I was first to the lane, while everyone else was being horribly slow.
After me complaining for them to hurry up, they set their names into the screen and we started playing. First was Aiden, then me, then Mason, then Ella, then Jacob, then Cara. Everyone was pretty good or at least average. Aiden was winning by far though, I was second and determined to beat him. Which I did and I was pretty proud of myself for that.
We got some food while we were there and once we were all full, we went home, dropping everyone at their houses on the way. Conversation was flowing the full time. I was first to be dropped of because my house was closest. So, after the goodbyes and a kiss from Aiden, I got home and sat down beside my dad on the sofa.
‘Hey, did you have fun?’ He asked.
‘Yeah, it was great!’ I said happily.
‘I’m glad you had a good time. I’m going to bed so goodnight’ He told me smiling.
‘Me too, goodnight’ I said back.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
