《Two Wastes of Space- J.C》Making up/out

After a long bath and crying to my mum for what seemed like an eternity, I decided to go down to the docks and watch the boats. Without my mum noticing, I took two corona bottles out from the fridge and left.
Freddie had taken Effy to the hospital and called Anthea up. I couldn't bear to go see her, at least not at that moment, I needed time.
"Hey," I heard from behind me, making me jump in surprise, but it was just Cook, "Can I sit with you, or are you going to tell me to fuck off?"
"You can stay. Here," I said, handing him my spare corona bottle.
"You been crying?" he said, turning my face to face him. My eyes and face were probably still red from all the crying. I nodded.
"I heard about what happened. I'm sure they're taking good care of her," he said.
I sighed, "Look, Cook, I don't mean to sound like a bitch, but if you're here just to talk about Eff, then leave. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry. Ok?"
"Ok, then can we talk about how I'm sorry about what happened that night?"
I nodded, making eye contact with him instead of looking out at the water.
"Bri, I'm so sorry. I know now that she doesn't want me, but I know you do. You're the first girl I've known to really give a fuck about me,"
I smiled softly, stroking his cheek, "Cook, there's something I've been meaning to tell you for a while now, and you don't have to say anything at all in return, but I need you to know that I love you."
"Well, you're in luck, because I fucking love you too, babe," he said, kissing me softly. For the first time that whole year, I felt a spark of hope and happiness. Pure happiness.

When we kissed, it didn't seem lustful or sex-driven, but loving and passionate. I tangled my hands in his hair and he placed his hands gently on my hips. When we pulled away, I smirked at him mischievously.
"What?"
I pushed him into the water and took off my cotton sweater before I jumped in myself. He came up to the surface, smiling wide as he kissed me once more.
"So, princess, do you want to be official?"
I nodded as I pecked his lips. It was crazy how much of an emotional rollercoaster that day was.
