"Bri! Someone's at the door for you!" my mom yelled. I walked downstairs, grabbed the sweetened iced tea that I made from the other night, and saw Effy at the door.
"Eff!" I ran over to her and hugged her. I hadn't seen her in forever.
"I came to walk to school with you, Bri. Coming?" she said, extending her hand.
"Yes, let's," I said, taking her hand, "Bye, mum!"
"So, how was your summer?" she asked.
"Eh, Cook and Freddie and I got chlamydia. But I didn't get it from either of them, how was Italy?" That was a lie. I was pretty sure I got chlamydia from Cook since he was the only person I slept with the entire summer.
"Good. Oh, you should've been there, it was fucking marvelous. The food, the boys, no legal drinking age, the perfect place to go batshit and just not give a fuck about anything."
I always wished I could go to Italy, it sounded great...
During my free period, I found Naomi on the green, and she looked troubled.
"Hey, Nomes. You ok?" I said.
She nodded, but she didn't look convincing.
"You sure?"
"Bri, if I tell you, do you promise not to tell anyone? Please?"
"I won't tell a soul, promise," I kneeled next to her.
She took a deep breath, "I knew the dead girl. I met Sophia at an opening day at a university. If I told the police I knew her and saw her at the party, I could go to jail. And Emily wants to go traveling next year, but I want to go to university, which could be a referendum on our relationship. And, and well, I sorta...."
My eyes widened, "No! You didn't! You," I lowered my voice to a whisper, "You cheated on Emily?"

"Yes, I did. Emily's already suspicious of me, I don't know what to do," she said, her hands shaking, and she looked like she was about to cry.
"This is out of my hands, Naomi. Either come clean or don't and pray she doesn't find out," I realized I probably didn't sound comforting, but then again, what she did was nothing to be proud of.
Two nights later, Cook and I went to a party. Everyone else was there except for Katie. I saw Freddie and Effy dancing, looks like they're together again. Cook and I started dancing for a while until he got distracted by something. I looked over at what he was staring at, Freddie and Effy were kissing, and it was bothering Cook. A lot. There was no way he was over her. He had seemed to completely forget I was there.
"Cook?"
"What? What the fuck do you want?!" he yelled in my face. I felt slightly horrified, since he had never yelled at me like that, and I walked out.
"Bri, come on! I'm sorry I just-" he tried to follow me.
"Just what? You're still in love with her, my fucking best friend. I see the way you've been looking at her ever since she's come back."
"I'm not! I'm completely over her," he said.
"Then look me in the eyes and tell me that. Tell me that you don't love her."
He didn't say anything, which caused me to scoff, "I knew it, I fucking knew it."
I tried to walk away but Cook grabbed my arm and kissed me, so I pulled away and slapped him.
"I'm not your fucking rebound," I said. I ran off and ignored Cook calling my name twice.
All I could do was cry, I loved him, but he would never love me, never...

Dungeons Are Bad Business
Vee Vales has been kicked out of his home and directed to make his own way in the world. Along with his friend Alforde Armorsoul, Vee travels to the city of Oar's Crest. Once a prosperous and well-to-do city, Oar's Crest has fallen into depression and disrepair. After finding a strange stone that takes up residence in a tattered top hat and introduces itself as Reginald, Vee and Alforde decide to open a dungeon in Oar's Crest to revitalize the city and, more importantly, make some fleurs. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Author's Note: Dungeons are Bad Business (DABB) is a slow burn slice-of-life dungeon core litRPG citybuilder that's focused on the day to day experience of running a dungeon. There will be some action, but it won't be the focus of the story and Vee and his friends will usually overcome their problems with their minds and their pocketbooks instead of their weapons. Since I'm participating in the writeathon, I will probably be uploading chapters almost daily for the duration of the event. Thanks for reading!

Sanguine Paradise
Micheal is a young guy in his late teens who just graduated from high school and now he honestly does not know what to do with himself. Sitting in his chair just relaxing and browsing the shit-show that was the internet, doing random stuff, he suddenly becomes oddly weary. The next moment he's fuck-knows-where and everything seems rather.... odd? He was rather confident in himself, that he usually didn't have a 360-degree field of vision, and that everything wasn't always so... gigantic. Something was really off... As if to confirm his thoughts, the very next second a series of prompts invaded his sight followed by a rather soothing voice. [Soul restoration - Completed!] [Welcome to Eve] [Status...... Species: Glade Mosquito.....] Slowly taking in everything laid out before him, Micheal responded with the most intelligent and sagely response possible. "Huh......." As such Micheal's unending search for power, adventure, and family begins. WARNING:This story features a protagonist with unconventional views and morals. In a world where only strength rules, concepts of good and evil become blurred as they fade to inutility. If you are looking for a goody-two-shoes, upholder of justice, and who goes around unconditionally saving any and all people in distress, this story is most likely not your cup of tea. It can also get pretty dark and sensual at times, you have been warned. Release schedule, Monday-Wednesday-Friday

Starlight Antiquities
There is a place in the galaxy that deals in antiquities of all kinds, human and non-human alike. Its inventory of artifacts is colossal as is its inventory of mercs who they hire to acquire any artifact a client may wish that is yet to come into their possession. The ill-reputable business is constantly rubbing against the changing tolerance of the Union's government, and there are many security officers who would love nothing better than to vaporize the whole place with its owners inside. Yet, there are many tasks that nobody can do better, especially in the vastness of deep space where Union law is worth less than the energy needed to display it. One of its jobs involves finding an artifact that may not only hold the future of the human race but may also disturb the balance of the whole galaxy. *** While waiting for the next season of Mandalorian and the Witcher, and rewatching Firefly for the gazillionth of time, I decided to write this space-based series. The series has some litRPG elements in it, but it does not read like one. So, you won't run into any blue screens here. Yet, I wanted to use litRPG to give another dimension to this whole story and make it as unique as possible. This is a work-in-progress. Hope to keep on improving and fixing my mistakes as I go along.
