《Two Wastes of Space- J.C》Facing Reality

I could barely face getting out of bed. Today was the second anniversary of my dad's death, and I hadn't talked to Cook for days. I looked out my window, and it was a bleak day. All I could see was the rain droplets on the window.
"Come on, Bri. I made breakfast," Katie said, trying anything she could to get me out of bed. She knew what day it was for me and that I've been feeling down lately. So she came over and took action.
I turned my head to face her, "What'd ya make?"
"Toast, eggs, sausage, and hot chocolate. Your mum said you like hot chocolate when you're feeling down," she said. That did sound good, I had to admit. So I got out of bed and joined her.
"See, isn't it good to get out of your room once in a while?"
I nodded. I loved this side of Katie, the non-bitchy side of her.
"Katie?"
"Yeah?"
"Why does everything have to fall apart. Why can't things just stay happy and good?" I said, wiping my mouth with a napkin.
"Well, in what context?" she said.
"Effy and I are growing apart. Cook hasn't made any effort to reach out to me, and our entire friend group is becoming disconnected. I hate it! I fucking hate it, Katie," I said, letting out a shaky breath.
Katie sipped her cocoa before saying, "I don't know why, but I have a feeling it'll all get better soon Bri. If it makes you feel any better, Emily moved out and abandoned me,"
I nearly spat out my cocoa, "What? Why? To where?"
"Naomi's. She's mad at our mum because she let me invite my new boyfriend over for dinner but not Naomi. So, she decided to move out."

"I'm sorry, babes. I'm sure she'll come back," I said, putting my hand on top of hers. She shook her head. I mean, Emily could be pretty willful when she wanted to be. We finished eating breakfast, which was delicious. I never knew she could cook so well.
"Alright, I have to go help my mom with her job. I love you. Take care of yourself, babes," she said, hugging me as she grabbed her bag from the counter.
"I love you too. Thank you for making breakfast, Katie Kins," I said. I watched as she left, and just as she closed the door, my phone vibrated.
"Can I come over now? I want to talk,"- Effy.
"Sure."
I wonder what she wanted...

Adelaide
The entries here are transcribed from the log of Marie Ruiz, first mate of the Adelaide. It was definitely, definitely not published without her permission or knowledge by a certain lovable artificial intelligence for the purpose of sharing it with my AI friends on other ships who follow it like a soap opera. No way, no how. Remember guys, don’t go spreading this around too much. Only pass it on to those you can trust. God forbid this should ever end up on a public network… (Adelaide is a science fiction web serial featuring the adventures of a crew of smugglers. In space. It’s on the softer end of the soft/hard sci-fi spectrum because the author got a C in physics. Updates every other Sunday.)

Survival In The Apocalypse
Plot: The era of turmoil has begun. A meteor shower destroyed most of humanity's cities, right after a sudden disaster the world's habitat changed completely. Organisms that were once extinct appeared again, plants and animals quickly changed and evolved strongly. Civilizations that once disappeared have reappeared, unlocking mysteries from tens of thousands of years ago. Dimensional portals appeared, and countless races also followed the portal to the human world. From here the battle for survival between countless races broke out, which can be seen as the darkest pages of history in human history. Overview of the main character: Name: Noah Nickname: Ice Frog. Biography: Parents disappeared at a young age, lived with his brother. After the age of ten, his brother also disappeared. Since then, he has lived in exile at the beginning of the street. Because to continue living, I used to do many jobs, from begging to stealing, I have been in and out of prison many times. Although he is a sinner, Noah is a man of principles, not the type of person who likes to do wrong things. Due to living in a bad environment, Noah's personality is very closed, being a careful person, thinking before and after. He has no passion for gambling or prostitution, he prefers quiet places. Note when reading the story: The series has a slow plot, many gore scenes. Not suitable for short-tempered people, love purple, hate lies. Because it's the apocalypse genre, what's bad in real life is in the story. This is a survival story, not a self-made story, so there is no coloring, bragging, flirting, or going for a walk. As for human values, please read and feel.
