As soon as you arrived at the gazette you immediately ran to the office

"Damnit" you sighed

He wasn't there. And that horrible feeling in your stomach was getting worse and worse as the day went on

You yawned as you sat down on his chair and stretched, you pondered for a while and closed your eyes

"Would Daniel know something about where Jed is? Maybe I should ask him" you thought opening your eyes and standing up

You left the room and headed for your boss's office on your way there you saw Blake talking with some co-workers of yours

That's when something else popped up in your head

You haven't seen Blake around here that often anymore not until Jed showed up anyways

Maybe you really are that love sick over him

As you reach the door to Daniels's office you hear chatter coming from the inside

"Can you believe that she told me that!?" you hear Daniel say

"Shit is this a bad time," you think and turn to walk away

"No, I can't sir"

You hear and light up almost immediately, turning back around and opening the door

It's not until you see Daniel and Jed whip their heads around to face you that you realized what you just did

"Y/n?" Daniel says and stares at you with a confused expression on his face

"Um," you say and turn to look away a bit flushed

You hear Jed snicker and you turn your head back to him and Daniel

Seeing Jed stand up and face Daniel

"I think I should get going then," Jed says to Daniel and looks at you giving you a smile

Without knowing your hand slowly reached out for him but fell back to your side when Daniel looked at you

"I guess so, but was there anything you needed Y/n?" Daniel asks you

"No sir, I was just looking for uh," you say as your eyes shift over to Jed

He's already giving you a smirk as he slowly waves his hand at you

You narrow your eyes at him and look back at your boss

"I see then, you can go now," Daniel says as Jed stands up and walks over to you

"We'll talk about this later?" Jed says and turns towards Daniel again

"Yes"

Jed smiles at him and then takes your hand and leads you out of the room

"Where the hell have you been?" you ask him

"Why missed me?" he smiles

You don't reply to him instead just look the other way slightly mad

His smile fades and he squeezes your hand tighter than before

"I'm sorry," he says and drags you into your office, his playful tone completely gone

"It's fine, I just, I was worried that you-"

Your words are cut short as he softly pushes you against the table, his leg pushing in between your thighs

You look up at him as your hands grip the edge of the table, he's so close and you can't tell what he's thinking

His eyes are just blank and you have a feeling that it should scare you but it doesn't

He gives you a sad look and now you can tell what he's feeling just not why

You feel his hands caress your sides and he leans down to kiss your neck softly

He's never this soft with you it almost scares you

"I'm scared Y/n," he says still leaving kisses on your neck

"H-Huh why," you say as your hand holds onto his side

"Just don't go walking the streets at night alright"

Once he said that you knew exactly why he was scared, he wasn't scared for himself he was scared for you and your safety

"I will I promise," you said your hand rubbing up and down his arm trying to reassure him

He sighs and holds you for a bit then lets go of you and walks back to his desk

Did that new killer get to him that much?

"Knock knock"

"Huh"

You turn to where you heard the voice and to your surprise Ryan is now standing in the room waving at you

You look over to Jed and he pays no mind to Ryan or you, he just continues to work on his computer

You frown a little and look back at Ryan

"Hey did you need something?"

"Hm no I just got bored I don't have anything to do right now so I thought I'd talk to you guys for a bit" Ryan explains, looking over at you and then Jed

You can't help but notice there's a tension in the air and you want to get away from it

"Well I was just about to get some coffee from the break room so"

"Can I go with you?" Ryan asks

"Um sure"

"Great"

You look over at Jed one last time before you head over to the break room but his eyes haven't shifted over from the computer

"Nothing not one single glance, what was all that before then," you thought, walking out of the room and shutting the door behind you

"Did I interrupt something?" Ryan asks quietly

Giving you an awkward smile

"No, he just gets like that," you say, you already knew what Ryan was talking about

"I see, so how guys been together?"

"What!? No no, we're not together"

"What? No I mean how long have you guys been working together" Ryan laughs

"Oh honestly I don't know just enough to get used to each other I guess, hey if you meant it that way then why didn't you just say that instead," you say narrowing your eyes at him

"I just wanted to see what you would have said" Ryan laughs again

You laugh and lightly punch him in the arm

"Hey guys"

You and Ryan both stop and look in the direction of the voice

"Oh hey, Blake Was it?" Ryan says

"Yes! You remember that's great heh" she laughs while she walks towards you both and stops in front of you

"Blake I haven't seen you around that much is everything good?" you take the chance to ask her your question

Even if Blake and you weren't that close you still cared about her she was all you had at the gazette before you met Amira

"Oh yes just took a few days off for my health."

Now that she mentioned it she did look a bit tired and wore out

"Poor girl." You thought As you gave her a sad smile

"I'm sorry to hear that," you said

"Hey I'm sorry guys but I think I have to go it's an emergency I'll catch up with you guys later though!" Ryan's said before running off to his office

Blake gives you a confused look and you return it with an awkward smile

"He always does that don't worry about it," you say and

"Ah I see, so Y/n what have you been up to recently, I heard you had gotten a new partner but I never got the chance to meet them" she explains

"The usual, Writing reports on Ghostface same old same old, and yeah I did get a partner, I could introduce you guys if you'd like?"

"That sounds great but I don't think I'm fit for any more human interactions today, plus I don't look very great right now" she confesses

"Well, whenever you feel better you can always ask me again," you said giving her a reassuring smile

"That reminds me I was on my way to the break room did you maybe wanna come with to catch up a bit more" you ask her

"Yes that sounds great"

"Great, so since you've been asking me how I've been how have you been Blake?" You ask as both of you make your way to the break room

"Um great but not so great at the same time Daniel has been trying to help me but I feel like it never really does anything kinda"

"Can you believe she said that to me?"

"Oh, did something happen?"

"It's just" she stops in her tracks and thinks for a minute

"Y/n I swear I'm being followed, after Cassie's death I took a few days off cause I was scared and now there's a new killer on the loose and I've never been so paranoid in my life" she continues

"Daniels been trying to help but I told him that it's just not working, I think I upset him with that, and I guess it doesn't help that I also asked Ryan about that new killer," she says

At this point, Blake looks stressed out and you can't help but hug her

"I'm so sorry to hear that Blake is there anything I can do maybe?"

"No no it's fine, and if something happens and I am being followed I'll just call the police cause I don't wanna drag my friends into this," she says and wraps her arms around you

You feel bad for her cause she reminds you of when you had your first encounter with Ghostface

You haven't seen him in a few days and it has you on your toes, you're wondering if he'll show up and kill you this time

"Anyways" Blake lets go of you and smiles

"Break room?"

"Break room."

You both laugh

"I wonder if they have anything to drink besides coffee"

"Honestly"
