《Falling In Love with a Bad Boy !》Chapter 7- Of Parties & Him

I was sitting in front of Amelie's mirror applying mascara while she was seated on the bed behind me watching me intently, I could see the small smile hovering on her face in the mirror's reflection as she watched me intently
"Done'' I close the mascara tube and place it on the table before I stand up and twirl for Amelie.
"So how do I look ?" I smile at her. She jumps up excitedly clapping her hands. "Omg you look really beautiful, you need to teach me how to put makeup on like this, it's almost flawless"
I shrug my shoulders at her and plop myself on the bed next to her.
I look at her excited face and smile, I was super relieved that we were at her house and not mine, because by now mum would have come in and probably lectured us on the flaws in our outfits and makeup. I look at my phone to see a message from Dylan. He was on the way to pick us and should be here in another five minutes. I had checked with Amelie earlier about getting picked up by Dylan, and she was ok with it so I had texted Dylan the address. He replied almost immediately with a winking emoji.
It had taken me a while to convince mum to let me get ready at Amelie's house. Finally what got her convinced was when I used Dylan as an excuse. Until then she kept insisting that I invite Amelie over to get ready but I just wasn't ready for Amelie to meet my crazy mother. So I showed her Dylan on Facebook and lied that he had suggested that we go together from Amelie's house because they were friends. Mum bought the story and was really proud that I had snagged a handsome boy on my first day.
But before I could leave for Amelie's she spent the next one hour going through my entire wardrobe and then finally agreed on a black off-shoulder dress with a thigh slit. I wasn't sure if this was appropriate or too much for the party but since I got my way with mum letting me get ready at Amelie's house, I let her have this one victory. While I was at it, I also got her to agree that I could stay at Amelie's house for tonight, mum had a fashion event out of town and she would only be back by tomorrow morning, so I convinced her that I would be better off with Amelie rather than alone at home and after some initial hesitation she finally agreed.
Once I got to Amelie's house I met her mom who was a lawyer and super nice yet strict, like a normal mother should be. She was a carbon copy of Amelie with green eyes and the same mannerisms and from the way, they both interacted it was quite evident that they were very close. She fed me cookies, and gave us both strict warnings against drinking and talking to boys and a curfew of 10:00 pm which we negotiated to 11:00. It was such a stark contrast talking to a mom who actually cared if her daughter drank or not and I felt drawn to her.

Now that we were ready I look over at Amelie who was wearing a simple cotton black dress, white sneakers, and minimal makeup and I felt envious of her. She looked so comfortable unlike how I was feeling especially with what I was wearing. I had left my hair down in loose curls and applied make-up the way my mom had taught me to. Once I was done I take a selfie and share it with mum waiting for her response when the doorbell rang. Amelie jumped up and grabbed her purse and my hand and dragged me downstairs.
To say she was super excited to be going to her first high school party was an understatement. I check my phone on the way downstairs and sees a thumbs up from my mum, which meant that she was ok with the way I was dressed. If she was impressed she would have sent me a smiling emoticon, so I just sigh knowing that she would give me feedback on what I could have done better with my appearance tomorrow when she's back.
We make it downstairs and as we pass Amelie's mum she put her hands on her hips and says in a stern voice "Be good girls now, no drinking, be responsible, and stay away from boys, at this age all they want is...well you know...and teenage pregnancy is not what we want in this household" I smile at her and watch enviously as Amelie hugs her mom goodbye. I can't honestly remember the last time my mum hugged me and I wonder if my mum ever worried about me when I was out, for some reason I felt like she didn't even care as long as I didn't do anything that embarrassed her.
Amelie opens the door to Dylan who was standing there in a black button-up shirt and blue jeans. He looked adorable and hands down handsome. He looks past Amelie and his eyes stop on me. "Wow, I mean wow, you look beautiful" he smiles at me. I blush and smile back at him. Amelia clears her throat which gets Dylan's attention, he scratches his head, blushing "You look lovely too Amelie" he smiles sheepishly at her. Amelie laughs out loud "Yea right lover boy, lovely my foot, you can't even take your eyes of Annabeth'' she looks at me and smiles " Well I don't blame you, she's hawt''
I shake my head at Amelie and we both walk outside and get into Dylan's car. I take the passenger seat and throughout the drive there Dylan makes small talk abt his parents who are both doctors. He makes sure that he includes Amelie in the conversation as well. I study his profile from the side while he talks about how he's sure he's going to get a scholarship into college and I can't help but smile. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, and I knew my mum would like him as well.

We park in front of a big mansion-like house and I could hear the music all the way from the driveway as we step out and start walking towards the house. There were teenagers out on the lawn making out and dancing and I knew the inside would be more crowded. Dylan led the way with me and Amelie following behind as we make our way up the stairs to the front door.
We step inside and although I was expecting a crowd, what I see is just crazy, I mean there were loads of teenagers all in black, I guess everyone took the dress code seriously, I was yet to spot someone who wasn't in black. The lighting was set up like clubs where it was just dim lighting and a Dj playing music in the corner.
Dylan seems really popular, a lot of guys come up to him shaking his hand and giving him what I like to call bro hugs. He turns around and looked at me apologetically but I nod my head reassuringly at him and point to Amelie as I feel Amelie lead me by the hand to the bar. He smiles at me and gestures that he would find me later. I look at the bar in shock and I couldn't help but wonder how chilled out Claire's parents would be to let her have a bar operating out of their home for a house party.
'' What do you want to drink'' Amelie shouted over the noise " Umm, just a vodka Redbull if they have one" I yell back at her.
"I think they have everything here, this chick is loaded" She leans in and screams our orders to the bartender. I turn around wrapping my arms around me feeling a little cold and nervous. I didn't know anyone here and I was starting to feel a little apprehensive, maybe this wasn't a good idea. I looked around the crowd but I can't spot Dylan anywhere, he probably took off with his football friends.
"You made it'' I turned around when I hear a voice to see Claire all dressed up in a black short dress which left little to the imagination. " Yea" I smiled at her "It's a nice party and you have a lovely house"
"Thanks'' She smiles at me "Any way have fun and get to know some people" she winks at me "I'll catch you later babe, by the way, I love your dress, I can tell its designer, you and I need to go shopping someday soon, I think we can be friends"
"Umm yea sure'' I smile back at her amazed at how entitled she was. She turns on her heel and struts off as I turn around to see Amelie with our drinks 'Here you go babe" she imitated Claire's voice which makes me laugh. We both start drinking and swaying to the music.
Five drinks down and I was in a good buzz, Amelie and I were looking around at the funny stuff that drunk people were doing and we were laughing about it. There were a few guys who came over trying to proposition us and as they put it, to take us upstairs to show us some mad skills but we kept shooing them away.
"Come'' I extend my hand out to her, 'Let's go dance" Amelie looked at me her eyes wide open ''Nooooo...I don't dance" I grab her hand and pull her out to where everyone was dancing. We both started dancing and laughing, doing the weirdest moves ever, I even did the moonwalk and the shuffle in my heels which got her cracking up more. I know we probably looked like idiots but I was having so much fun I couldn't care less of what people thought.
As we were dancing I feel someone grab my waist and I turn around to see a super drunk guy who was trying to manhandle me "Get off me" I push him when he tries to pull me into a hug. For a drunk guy, he seems to have supernatural strength. I try pushing him off again and I can feel Amelie pulling me by the hand but this guy was just not giving up.
I start panicking when he starts to bring his face closer to mine. "Let me go you fucker" I try shouting but the loud music drowns it out. I push him on his chest and try to wrench my face away from him when I feel someone drag him and me apart and once again I was airborne and placed behind someone with a hoodie on, well not someone, Ryder, I could recognize him from his cologne. He cracks his neck and I see the drunk guy get up ready to fight, but he takes one look at Ryder and scrambles out of there. Some of the people nearer to us had stopped dancing and were watching us curiously. I saw Ryder give them all a withering glare and they all stop looking at us and quickly go back to doing whatever they were doing before.
Ryder turns around and I open my mouth to thank him but shut it when I see the state of his face, all bruised and adorned with a look of pure anger.
God, I knew I was in trouble... Big Trouble!

The Sun's Remnant
Two people are transported to a world with magic, but it is no Wonderland. When the god of light died, he decided to take the world with him. At least, that’s what many believe in the Kingdom of Rhine, a once vast kingdom of which only a small corner remains — and even that is threatened. On one side, by the Twisted Forest, a corruption spreading from the deathplace of the gods that has already swallowed up most of Rhine. On the other, by the resurgent Kagrathan Empire, resurrected by the infallible God-Emperor Karlatz. A holy order of knights carry out their mission despite the death of their god. A band of talented misfits prepare for a heist out of their league — by stealing. Mages hunt for secrets even as the world ends. A ruler does what must be done to save the living, no matter the cost. Into this world of magic and murder, two adrift souls are inexplicably dragged: a mother estranged from her young daughter due to her own mistakes, and a young man with a love of fantasy who has gradually drifted away from his friends and family. As they each struggle to find their place in this world, they must also answer the question: do they want one?***Content Warning: I've drafted about 100,000 words (most of the first volume), and there is no sexual content so far, though I may add it in the future. There is occasionally gore and traumatising content as the story demands. I commit to keeping all of the above non-voyeuristic. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
