《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 27: Afraid

Still, in cuffs, Anakin and I were mounted up into a carriage. We were about to be forced into an arena. Who knows what kind of creatures we would fight. Maybe this was the end of everything.
I hung my head down, thinking of every moment that led us here. It was my fault we came. I had the idea that coming here would prove how brave I was. But in the end, it only made me seem stupid. I thought about how disappointed the Jedi will be, knowing how we left Padme alone on Naboo. My mind quickly landed on Obi-Wan. I forgot the whole reason we came to Geonosis was to save him, but now we needed saving. What if he is already dead? Have I failed Anakin? I furrowed my brows holding back every emotion that ran through my mind.
Was this how Anakin and I would end? My mind raced back to the meadow and the night we shared, wrapped in each other's arms. It was all gone in one instance. At this moment, I wish I would have stayed longer in his arms that night.
"Don't be afraid." Anakin calmly said; I opened my eyes to find his staring into mine. "I'm not afraid to die," I whispered, making him furrow his brows. I was afraid to lose the person I love.
I thought long and hard about what to say. I was afraid to lose Anakin, to be without him. I knew it was wrong to love. The Jedi have said it countless times, but I couldn't deny that I loved this boy. "I've been dying a little bit each day since you came back into my life," I said, locking my eyes onto his. His lips slightly parted, he raised his eyebrows, "What are you talking about?" Anakin asked.
This was it, the moment I never knew would come out of my mouth. "I love you." I softly said, tracing his lips with my eyes. Anakin softly gulped, trapped by his tongue. He tilted his head; his facial features were surprised. "You love me?" he sadly asked.

I watched as Anakin hung his head. I bit my lower lip, hoping I didn't make the wrong choice. "I thought we have decided not to fall in love," he looked back in my direction. "That we would be forced to live a lie and that it would destroy our lives," Anakin added.
The screaming audience became louder, but my full attention was on him. I made sure to keep my eyes on his, knowing any second it might end. "I think our lives are about to be destroyed anyway," I said firmly, slowly leaning towards his face.
Anakin's eyes examined my face. His facial features were relaxing. "I truly, deeply love you, and before we die, I want you to know," I added. Our faces were inches apart, but soon I felt his soft lips on mine. I held back every tear I could, wishing it wouldn't end when the carriage began to move.
"Eeyah!" The Geonosian screamed, indicating that the ceremony was about to begin. I pulled away, slowly hearing the screams of the crowd becoming louder. The arena was full of Geonisans, and in the middle were four columns.
As we headed to the middle, my eyes caught a glimpse of Obi-Wan's face. Relief and terror-filled my body, I knew Anakin, and I wouldn't hear the last of this if there were a chance we got out. He shook his head in disappointment as we passed directly beside him.
Still, in cuffs, the Geonosians escorted us to our pillars. "I was beginning to wonder if you'd got my message," Obi-Wan said furiously. I looked to my side as the Geonosian hung my arms above my head.
"I retransmitted it just as you had requested, Master. Then we had decided to come and rescue you." Anakin nervously said. Obi-wan chuckled under his breath, sarcastically. "Good job," Obi-Wan said, looking up at his chains then onto us.

The cheering of the crowd began once again. I quickly looked around to find any advantage to get out of these cuffs before the hard work began. I took a hairpin from my hair slowly and twisted one of the locks in one of the cuffs.
In the far distance, a large gate had opened. Out came three enormous creatures; they were furious, looking, and angry. There was a three-horned creature roaring, making the whole arena shout with excitement.
Behind him was a large pray mantis screeching as a long spear was jabbing it. Lastly, there was a multi-eyed rat. He took a Genosian by the mouth, killing it on impact.
"I got a bad feeling about this." Anakin nervously said. I diverted my attention off the creatures, once again focusing on the cuffs. As they approached, my anxiety began to creep up my body. Finally, I got one of the cuffs loose.
"Relax. Concentrate." I heard Obi-Wan say. "What about y/n?" Anakin then asked. I rolled my eyes, playfully turning my body around to start climbing the pillar.
"She seems to be on top of things," Obi-Wan said from below me.
As I was climbing, I tried my hardest to maintain balance; there weren't any grips or ledges to hold on without hanging loosely. Reaching the top was the easiest part, now came the hard part. I looked to my side to see that they were both free from the chain.
Anakin was on the three-horned beast, riding it crazily, and well, Obi-Wan was having a little too fun teasing the mantis. Looking down to the ground, the rat looking creature was jumping alongside the pillar, almost climbing it. I took the chains, holding them into my hands before whipping the beast across the face.
It screamed in agony, but it didn't give up. It continued to climb until I did it again, only with more force. As the creature fell, its long sharp claws dug into my back, making me scream in pain. I knew I had to avoid the pain and focus back on the target, but I couldn't help but notice Anakin was getting dragged on the sand.
The thumping of my pillar diverted my attention back on my creature. It had recovered and was quickly climbing its way back up. If a slap with some chains wasn't going to do it, maybe my whole body will.
I grabbed the chains firmly with both hands before jumping off and swinging my body against the creature. It whimpered in pain as it hit the ground with a full amount of force. I quickly climbed back up the pillar taking my hairpin once again to do the other cuff.
I was finally set free; I grabbed the chains once again, ready for another blow, then out of nowhere, the three-horned creature ran over the ugly rat. "Jump!" Anakin screamed; without hesitation, I jumped on the back, hitting my private parts harshly. I groaned in pain; this day was going by fabulous.
Anakin's looked behind his shoulders, making sure I was okay; I kissed his cheek, indicating I was. He pulled the chains making the horned beast move. I looked in Obi-Wan's direction and noticed his spear had snapped in half, making him vulnerable.
"Obi-Wan needs help!" I screamed, pointing in his direction. Anakin quickly charged into his path; I reached my arm close enough to pull him up. I hoped this would be the end, but destroyer droids surrounded us.
