《The Betrayed Pilot (Titanfall x RWBY)》Chapter 22

It was winding down to the end of the day, and i just finished commentating on the 30th 4v4 match of the day, thankfully Oobleck allowed me to go home early because i fell asleep in the last match. I yawn tiredly as i pulled out my scroll and unlocked the door as i dropped all of my stuff at the door and i just collapsed onto my bed.
I do nothing as i try to fall asleep, but i heard a soft creak in my room, i didn't bother with it as I try to fall asleep. But when I heard another soft cream I didn't know who it was so i slowly reached for my pistol at my hip, and i listened carefully for any other sounds and then i heard a soft foot step behind me. I waited patiently for whoever it was to get closer, and when they stepped on a loud creak i turned around in an instant and i pulled my Wingman to their face.
"WAIT DON'T SHOOT!" I look to the figure and i almost toss the gun at her as i realized that it was Velvet, i put the gun on safety as i tossed the gun at her halfheartedly, I then lean back into the bed as i let out a heavy sigh.
"Never do that again Velvet, i completely forgot that i gave you access to my room, after our date yesterday" i mutter to her as i fruitlessly try to fall asleep, but then i felt a weight on the bed and i open my eyes long enough to see that Velvet was staring at me with a smile. I couldn't be mad at her so i rub her head as i closed my eyes again.
But as soon as i was ready to fall asleep again i heard my scroll go off, and i was annoyed at who was trying to message me. I Halfheartedly open my scroll and i open the message to see who it was and i couldn't help but release a loud groan as i saw just the ID.

"What is it Sarah?" I look down a little bit, to look at Velvet who seemed to be slightly concerned at the disturbance.
I sit up from my bed as i popped my neck and looked at Velvet, "A few days ago i made a deal with General Ironwood-" "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU MADE A DEAL WITH IRONWOOD!" I jumped up as i was caught off guard by Velvet yelling into my ear. I rubbed my head slightly in pain from the sudden noise then i gave her a bit of a death glare from her scaring me.
"S-Sorry about that, but what do you mean you made a deal with him, the last time you mentioned him you said how he was out for your technology and Lilith!" She exclaimed at me, but this time with a softer tone compared to last time. I sighed as I had to now recap what happened in the last chapter.
"Ozpin called the General and told him the predicament that Lilith is in, and how i was the only one trying to repair her, and so he gave me the offer that he would give me the tools and the man power to help repair Lilith, in exchange he could study Lilith while they repaired her. Thankfully i was able to bend his arm so he could only work on her while i was around, and i made sure that nothing else of importance was inside of Lilith." I calmly recapped to her, she still seemed unsure of the entire situation, so i leaned forward and i gave her a hug as i gently caressed the back of her head.
"I know your concerned, i am too, but it feels like something is in the air and i don't like it. Something big is about to happen, and something is telling me that i will need Lilith, and probably soon. This is the best for all of us in my opinion." I soothingly say into her ear, but she pushed back slightly and still didn't looked convinced of what i said.

"Are you really sure this is the best for all of us, what if the General takes what he learned from Lilith to make and army to take you away from me." I could see that her eyes were twitching and i felt my heart twinge in response. I moved closer to her as i grabbed both of her hands and took it into mine.
"Atlas already has giant robots, they didn't need Lilith to make them, and if the General ever tries to betray me then i will make sure that he picked a fight with the wrong pilot." I reply to her as i gave her a bright smile, thankfully this time she seemed a bit more confident in me.
"Although, Sarah, isn't it a bit odd that they are trying to work this hard for your technology so suddenly, i thought that they gave up after you demonstrated what you could do to them," I stopped to think for a second and contemplate what Velvet said, it was odd that they were acting so much and trying to include me into their little group all of a sudden. Something wasn't right.
"You are right, but I can't do anything about it for now, and whatever it is, you don't have to worry about it Velvet, because i'll take care of everything for us." I said reassuringly to her, i then remembered about the message from Ironwood earlier, i reach for my scroll that i left on my bed and i looked at the message which left me extremely confused,
'meet me in Ozpin's office, there are things we need to discuss together, and do try to leave behind your weapons, this will be a peaceful talk.' I just stared at the message perplexed, but then Velvet tried to move so she could read it, but i quickly put it back into my pocket.
"Well, duty calls," i dryly say more to myself because i really just wanted to sleep.
"So soon? But you just got back from commentating on most of the 4v4's." I just shrugged at her comment and i went to grab my wingman which was laying on the floor, as well as my pulse blade, just in case.
"I'm sorry i have to leave so early Velvet, but i will make sure to spend time with you when i get back from whatever the General wants." I turn to leave but i quickly turn back around and give Velvet a quick kiss on the lips, she turned bright red from embarrassment and i couldn't help but smile at her.
"Good job at the tournament as well, you fought well." I then rush out the door to my room leaving Velvet behind.

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.

Soul Vessel Psyche
If it’s not obvious from the Title this is yet another reincarnation story. The story will be told from the perspective of one Novid Ollo; half-breed son of the Matriarch of the Knora Race and twin brother to Ovis Ollo the future Matriarch of the Vnora sub-Race.The world of Orro that Novid is born into has been ravaged by the demons from the demon world. The Demons were accidentally lead to Orro 500 years earlier by a conflagration of magic from feuding countries of the Vern Race; opening a doorway between the worlds which released hordes of Demons into Orro. The Dvern and the Svern are the 2 Subspecies of the Vern Race responsible for this calamity and were the first victims of the Demon hordes. The next to fall victim were the proud Knora of the North. The ice giants fought the Demon hordes to stalemate and seemed poised to prevail until the dragon rulers of the Demon Race joined the fight. While the Dvern and the Svern are essentially extinct the Knora managed to save 17 females and 55 males. How Novid Ollo is born as half Svern is also how he died in the previous life, and why he is both pitied and hated by his race and others. There are no Gods to offer special talents and Favours, there is no path to Godly Power and everyone is born with exactly the same potential. Novid Ollo will have to carry the weight of the sins of his father like the others who’s Souls were ripped from their lives on Earth and brought to this unforgiving Realm of Magic; filled with Monsters and Demons. What happens to Novid Ollo is entirely dependent on the extent of the effort he puts into preparations for when whimsical opportunity shines its light on him. Fortunately Novid Ollo didn’t come to Orro alone?15 million? other Human Souls were ripped from their lives on Earth at the same time as Novid and reborn on Orro to serve as the last wave of cannon fodder in the unending war against the hordes of Demons.Inspired by; Mushoku Tensei, Slime Tensei, Daybreak on Hyperion. As usual I unashamedly draw some elements from my favourite light novels in writing this Original Fiction.I thought I’d try writing something for the?Reincarnation? genre.?Written in South African English which means closer to the British Standard.?Warning: Mature Content ?Violence, Language and Adult Themes ?List of My Novels:?Realm Eternal??Crystal Guardian ??Exiled Nomads of the Galaxy??Soul Vessel Psyche?

Only The Machia were able to defend against these attacks on humanity. Countries were destroyed, safe-havens were build and then yet again destroyed. Eventually humanity adapted, like it always does. The economy was rebuild and centered around these new towers, these dungeons, the treasures they hold outweigh their dangers. Life is relatively safe again, for most at least… Read about Reo’s exploits, an immigrant from the Netherlands, as he tries to honor his dead parents and… find love? Establish a Guild?! This story features romance, comradery, an interesting power system and a post-apocalyptic world with amusing characters, what more do you want?! No seriously, I’m always open to constructive feedback. This story also displays my interpretation of a magic-coding-language (based on JAVA). Although knowledge about coding helps, you can also enjoy the story without it 😊.
