《The Betrayed Pilot (Titanfall x RWBY)》Chapter 20

A/N: time to write, wait when was the last time I updated? 1 month ago? Well, shit.... no but seriously I'm sorry that I haven't been writing, in general I couldn't figure out for the life of me on how to write this chapter and the chapters afterwards in a way that i would enjoy it, so I've been taking the time rewatch Rwby, and while theoretically that shouldn't take long, when you stop every 5 seconds to take notes for your next rwby story, it's time consuming, I'm sorry this took so long, but my plan is to finish this story before the end of Next month, here's to hoping I do that.
I was back in the elevator up to Ozpin's office because he sent me a message earlier that he wanted to see me for some things. I really didn't want to be up there because i rather be back with Lilith trying to get her fixed, but it's been proving, problematic.
The door to the elevator eventually opened and i walked in on Ozpin who was turned away from me, i took a step in and eventually he turned towards me with his coffee mug in hand.
"Ah, Miss Sarah, it's good of you to show up." He said to me as i nodded towards him and i took a seat in front of him.
"So Ozpin, why did you call me up here, it's not often that you make me come all the way up here in your tower of power." I asked him, he softly laughed at my response as he went to take a sip from his coffee. I wait patiently for him to respond, but he just looked absentmindedly at his coffee. Eventually i snap my finger and i brought him out of whatever stupor he was in,
"Ah sorry, i was lost in thought, it's been a hectic few days." That was an understatement, i thought to myself. Eventually he cleared out his throat and he leaned forward as he looked directly at me.
"Well Miss Sarah there are two reasons as to why i called you up here, the first one being that I'm assuming your well aware of Professor Port extension to a mission he was called upon." I nodded to Ozpin, it was hard not to know that considering i had to be a substitute for his class at times.
"Well, you should know with the Vytal festival being in the next few days, he was scheduled to to be a commenter for it, but for obvious reasons he won't be there until the tournament is almost over." Ozpin stopped for a second to take another sip of coffee, and i could tell from the train of thoughts that i didn't like where this was going.
"Since most teachers here aren't the most combat proficient compared to you, i was wondering if you would be willing to be a commentator on the events, along with Professor Oobleck." He said the entire thing so casually, i wanted to refuse the offer, but i did need a break from looking at all of the broken parts from Lilith.

I leaned back in my chair as i let out a sigh, even if i know i need the break, i know this wasn't going to be fun, "I guess i will do it, you and i both know that i would rather spend that time working on Lilith, but i guess it wouldn't hurt." I annoyingly answered him, but despite my tone he still had a smile that went from ear to ear on his face.
"That's good to hear that you are willing to help do your part in the tournament, it's times like these where we need to enjoy that we are only fighting for fun, and not for war, take the time to enjoy yourself Miss Sarah." He seemed genuinely happy that i accepted his offer, but i wanted out of the office, but i know that there was a second thing that he mentioned.
"So Ozpin," I said to him, getting his attention, "That's the first thing that you wanted to discuss, what is the second thing that you wanted me up here for?" He seemed to started fidgeting now that i brought up the second thing he wanted to talk about. Which was extremely concerning for me, because every time I've seen Ozpin he has always been extremely calm and confident, even when i held him up at gun point.
"Sadly, while this isn't much of a problem for me, it's something i thought we were done with," Ozpin looked at the time on his scroll for something, "he should be here any minute now." I raised an eyebrow at him, him?
There was a loud ring behind me, signalling that the elevator was opening, i turn around in my chair to see the door to open to reveal General Ironwood.
"It's good to see you James, although i'm not sure if i can say the same for Miss Sarah." Ozpin said as he greeted the general. I felt my fingers dig into my palm as i felt my annoyance of the General build up. I quickly turned towards Ozpin and i slam my hands on the table,
"Ozpin, what is the meaning of this!" I nearly shouted at him, he did nothing but quietly take a sip from his coffee mug.
"I'm sorry about the, unexpected meaning Sarah, but i Ozpin mentioned how your so called, "titan", was damaged recently in a mission." Ironwood calmly said to me, but i couldn't help but narrow my eyes towards him, as he mentioned Lilith. But he calmly walk up next to me, and give me a small smile, but i couldn't help but scowl at him.
"Believe me, i know we aren't on the best of terms Sarah, but i think we can take this opportunity to do something that can not only help us, but the people of Remnant." He spoke so optimistically to me that it was getting on my nerves.
"General, with all due respect, but give me one reason why i shouldn't just walk out right now and ignore what you have to say." I snapped at him. He took a hesitant step backwards, but then he stood up straight and looked me directly in the eye.

"As i mentioned before, Ozpin told me how, Lilith was it?" I nodded to his question, and he kept going without skipping a beat, "Well he mentioned how Lilith is extremely damaged and will not be in working order for who knows how long, and that you are the only person repairing her." The General recited the information as if he was practicing it for hours. I crossed my arms in response to this.
He managed to muster a sheepish smile before he continued, "I want to cut a bit of a deal with yo-" I cut him off with a resounding NO before he could continue. I started to walk towards the elevator,
"Ozpin just message me later on the information for me being a commenter, and Ironwood, i thought i made it clear to you that you are never getting your hands on Lilith." I stated to the two Headmasters as i pressed the button to open the door.
"Miss Sarah, i advise that you at least stay to hear the General out for what his offer is." I turn around to see that Ozpin had a neutral look on his face, I look towards Ironwood and he looked desperate. I let out a heavy sigh as i stood outside the elevator door.
"This better not be a waste of my time, i could be repairing Lilith instead of being here." I begrudgingly stayed to listen to what Ironwood had to say.
"Thank you Sarah you won't regret this." The General gleefully said, i rolled my eyes in response and gesture for him to say what he had to say.
"Right, so even though i know we don't see eye to eye, i had an idea to help both of us in the end," he gestured towards the table and for me to follow and i decide to follow him for now.
"As you know, Atlas is the leader in not only innovation, but engineering, while i don't doubt your abilities to repair Lilith by yourself, i feel that if you gave us the chance to help you repair Lilith we can both benefit from this, not only will we learn a lot about the machinery of your people, but you will be able to start operating Lilith once again." I look over at the General, and i weigh his words, while he seemed like he was being truthful, i wonder just how much he would actually gain from looking at only the structure of Lilith. But i still prefer the idea of not having anybody else working on Lilith. But still, i had a feeling i would need Lilith, and soon.
"So General, if your goal is to study the engineering of Lilith, i may be inclined. But certain conditions must be met." I stated towards him, he just stood there and listened to me for now.
"Firstly, if your engineers are going to examine Lilith, i need to be there at all times, to make sure you don't do anything first." I saw that his lip pursed slightly, but he was able to put up a thin smile.
"As much as i disagree with this, very well. Is there anything else?" I nodded towards him as i moved closer towards him.
"Just so that I'm certain that you don't try anything with me, I'm going to make sure that i strip everything of importance from Lilith, every bullet, her A.I, even the god damn seat if i need to. So the only thing you can learn is just the structure of Lilith, and i will make sure of that." I could see that the General was starting to loose his patience as he took a step towards me and i mirrored the action.
"Please you two, I'm sure that you two can come to an agreement that would benefit both of you." We both turn to see Ozpin. I begrudgingly take a step back and let out a heavy sigh as i try get control over my emotions.
"General, so long as you are willing to work under my conditions, i don't have too much of a problem with you helping me fix Lilith, but the moment that you so long as scratch the paint off, i will make sure to cut off our deal, is that understood?" I stated to him, he took a second but he let out a sigh of frustration, but then he moved his hand forward.
"I'm not happy with it, but it's more then what i was expecting, I will hold up to your conditions for both of our benefits." I stepped forward as i shook his hand, sealing the deal between us.
"Sarah, i look forward with working with you." He offered me a smile but i just nod at him as i headed towards the elevator.
I walked in and when the door closed i felt my knees buckle and i exhale a breath i didn't know i was holding, i didn't think that trying to negotiate with the General would be so taxing. I take a second before i drag myself from the floor and stand up. I take a deep breathe and i steady myself, at the very least i will now have help fixing Lilith, but i still don't trust the General.
The elevator door opened and i walked out, i had an odd feeling inside of me that i should start to prepare for the worst, i don't know why, but something told me to prepare.

Across the Realms [Dropped]
Disclaimer: I'll leave this on here for anyone to read. The last time I uploaded a chapter was nearly a year ago, and to all the readers who still kept their trust in me after I came back from my umpteenth hiatus, I am sorry. I will not carry on writing this; I started off without the correct foundations of a novel, nor commitment to fully finish it and I do not want to lie to you all once again. Maybe one day, I may decide to re-write the novel, with a new basis or at least a comprehensive starting point with many of the narrative errors cleared up; but, till then, this is goodbye. And, once again, thank you for the motivation you gave me. Even now, I see many emails come through with people commenting. Goodbye. A child blessed by the Astral. An unprecedented destiny. Watch his path, as he marches up the stairway of Heaven. A March of a Sovereign. [Adventure, Wuxia, Martial Arts, Fantasy] This is a Qihuan novel; it has eastern and western fantasy elements. More often than not in Xianxia or Xuanhuan there is a severe lack of character development, being a western writer I'm changing that. My characters, from my totally unbiased view, feel fleshed out and actually have emotions. This is my first attempt at a novel, I'm writing as a means to better convey my thoughts. I will, hopefully, steadily improve chapter-by-chapter. I'm very open to feedback and constructive criticism. As one can see this is a cultivation novel, so you know how this goes. I've decided to jump-start the whole rags-to-riches scenario. He is strong from the start and is given the utility to do so. *The cover art is not my own, all rights reserved to the owner. I will take it down if necessary. *The style of the recent chapters is comparatively different than Chapter 1.
