A cool breeze rose from the bare tree branches made you grasp your wrap tighter. Cameras were flashing every which way and you had trouble getting adjusted to this form of lifestyle.

Harriet's hands lovingly placed themselves on your shoulders, giving a motherly squeeze. Rick and David were posing for the photographers while you stayed back with your boyfriends parents.

You've been in a 6 month relationship with David Nelson, who seemed to be at his peak of popularity thanks to his family's sitcom. He had a supporting role in a dramatic film called Peyton Place, which leads us to today. The premiere. The photographers decided they had enough shots of the Nelson family and moved on to those behind you.

David protectively wrapped an arm around you and guided you into the crowded theatre. There was an empty row waiting for the five of you.

You squeezed in next to David who eagerly awaited the film to start. He was proud. You knew how much this meant to him, it would prove to many that he was more than just Ozzie and Harriet's older son, Ricky Nelson's older brother. It proved he actually had talent. Talent you knew he already possessed.

The lights turned low and the film played on the massive silk screen. You were glued to it. What a cast. Lana Turner, Russ Tamblyn, your David.

Seeing David get angry was something brand new. He was never one to get in a fuss. He was always calm, he never had a reason to be upset. Even when he was upset about something he was rational. He never let his emotions get the best of him.

You were thoroughly impressed with his chops. When you thought you'd seen it all, he began to cry. A touching scene to begin with and he was the icing on the cake. You gripped his hand tighter and wept against his skin.

He leaned forward in his seat. He spent the whole evening watching you, he'd already seen the film prior. He pulled you to his chest and stroked your hair. He wanted to chuckle because of how adorable you were in his eyes. He also wanted to feel proud of himself for reaching into the audience. But, his instincts took over and his protective boyfriend side reigned superior.

He kissed your temple tenderly. His thumb gently swiped away any tears. At that moment it was just the two of you. No film, no press, no cast, no crew, no other Nelson family members. Just you and David.

"You were really great," you whispered into his warm neck. He smiled, taking your compliment as a sign that things were okay.

"Thank you, my darling."

The lights turned on and people began to pile out. You stayed snug in David's arms for as long as possible, until it was your turn to exit the theatre.
