《Friends with the Frat》9~ Suprise

"Hey Cor, guess what day it is?" Tommy said happily as he sat next to me in our shared physics class.
"I'm gonna assume the same day it has been since you asked me this morning." I laughed.
"It's game day baby" he exclaimed.
"I would never have guess that" I teased.
We were playing the same team we played last summer. The same team with Jonah on it.
"I'm hyped" he said excitedly and continued to go on and on about how excited he was to play tonight. The bell rang and he continued to go on until the teacher stopped him.
After physics it was our lunch period. The boys were all excited. Logan had never played the other team but he was just as excited. They act like this is the game getting them to state championships but we're a long way from there. State championships isn't until December and it's the beginning of September.
"I'm really happy for all of you, but please one more word about football and I might slit your throat" Remi threatened. She learned from the best, me of course.
I laughed and the boys all agreed. Carter kissed her cheek as a peace offering. If anything, he'd be the first to go.
"I have a doctor's appointment at 1:30 so I won't be in Art today." Remi told me.
"What's the appointment for?"
"Just a check up, nothing big. Today was the only day we could schedule it. I'll be back in time for the game.
I nodded in understanding. The bell rang and we all went to our respective classes. Logan and I walked together as we always did and sat in our usual seat next to each other.

Halfway through the game we were losing by sixteen points. We could totally come back from it, but I think the boys were beginning to get discouraged.
The cheer team broke up for halftime and I made my way to Harper and Sky. Sky ran up to my arms.
"Hey nugget" I ruffled her hair and made my way to sit by Harper.
"Why is daddy mad?" She asked. Dad was visibly upset as he walked to the locker room to yell at the boys.
"The boys aren't doing good. He's just upset at them"
"Daddy is a sore loser" she said seriously with a huff.
Harper and I died laughing at her. She always said the cutest things.
"Yeah he is, isn't he?" I laughed.
"What are your plans for this weekend?" Harper asked me.
"I'm going to try to make Kenzie and Grayson's soccer games tomorrow morning, but other than that I don't have anything going on. What about you?"
"Sky and I are going down to Galveston to see my parents for the weekend. She hasn't seen them in a while and she's excited. It had to be two years since we last saw them, but my Dad isn't doing so good. I really want to see him in case something happens, you know?" Her yes welled you with tears.
I wrapped my left arm around her shoulders and gave her a squeeze. "It's okay Harp, I hope your Dad gets better. I really would love to meet him one day" I smiled at her.

She gave me a weak smile back. "Thank you Cora. He would like you."
"I'm sorry Harp, but I have to go back down there. I'll see you after the game"
"No it's okay, you have to go. See you later."
I gave her one last hug before going back to the field to cheer. I grabbed my poms just before the second half started and the boys ran back out of their tunnels.
We ended up losing that game by ten points. The boys were pretty upset, but they'd be fine.
"You did a good job boys." I told them. Tommy, Nick, Carter, and Logan stood in a circle as they sulked.
"I gotta go honey. Sky and I have a long drive early in the morning. Be safe" Harper kissed Dad and hugged Carter. "You have a good weekend, okay?" She told me before she hugged me.
"Of course, go take care of your dad. Bye nugget. I'll see you next week" I hugged her little neck.
They left and the boys went to the locker rooms to change.
Once Dad and Carter were out, dad clapped his hand together. "Okay kids let's roll out" he said and pointed to the car.
We're down to one car with Coop gone and Connor moving out. We're gonna need another one sooner or later.
We hopped in and Dad drove us. He turned the wrong direction of home.
"Dad? You're going the wrong way" I spoke up. The two in the front didn't seem to care we weren't going home.
"I know where I'm going Coco" dad said and smiled back at me.
We were headed out of town. If this wasn't my father and brother I would be terrified.
Wait.
There was only one thing out in this direction.
"Why are we going to the airport?" I asked.
"That's for us to know and you to find out." The boys smirked from up in the front. I rolled my eyes at them. They were going to be useless until we got there so I shut up.
We pulled into the airport. Dad got a special parking pass and he and Carter grabbed suitcases from the back. One of which belonged to me.
"When'd you get my suitcase? Who packed it?" I questioned.
"Remi" Carter answered. "She didn't have a doctor's appointment today"
I was flabbergasted at all of this. I still don't even know where we're going.
We checked in our bags and got through security.
"Okay I think we've held the secret from her long enough" Dad laughed.
I perked up. They were finally gonna tell me where we were going.
"I could've waited until the flight was announced" Carter pouted. Dad hit him slightly on the chest and he stopped.
"Where are we going?" I asked again.
"Flight 739 now boarding. Flight 739 to South Bend, Indiana now boarding." The announcer called over the PA system.
I looked at my brother and father and they nodded.
"Holy shit, no way. I'm going to see Will" I jumped up and down and basically dragged them to the boarding dock.
They laughed and followed along happily. The flight was shockingly full for this time but I guess when your flying time really doesn't matter. They're an hour ahead of us so our bodies might be whacked for a couple days.

I got as much sleep as I could on the plane. Thankfully I didn't have to go to the bathroom the entire flight.
We landed and got off excitedly. I was practically bouncing off the walls. I couldn't wait to see Will. It was almost five in the morning and we had to get a hotel.
Once we got there we immediately fell asleep. Dad got a bed to himself and Carter and I slept on the same bed.
I only got about three hours of sleep. I was the first to wake up. I took my time to shower and just get ready for the day.
By the time I was out, Carter was still asleep and Dad was gone. He probably went to work out. I checked my phone for the first time and saw a few texts.
Have fun in Indiana ;)
Have a good weekend sweetie Oh and Sky says she loves you
I replied to both of them and assured them we got here safe.
The first thing I craved was a chai latte and the only place to get it was Coffee Connection. It would be a miracle if I saw Christian and Haylie there.
I wanted to go and I needed Carter to wake up so we could find Dad and go. So I did the only reasonable action possible, I jumped on him.
He groaned and attempted to push me off, but failed. I crawled off and sat on the bed beside him.
"Get up, get up" I chanted and bounced and pushed him.
"Cora, let me sleep" he groaned.
I pouted. "I want to go to Coffee Connection. Please? I'll buy you coffee"
"You don't drink coffee."
"They have chai. Come on let's go" I groaned and pushed him again.
He groaned and begrudgingly got up. He went to his suitcase and pulled out some clothes before going to the bathroom. I sighed in victory and laid back on the bed.
I debated on telling Christian or Haylie that I was in town. I decided against it because I want to surprise them.
Dad walked into the room and saw me sitting on my bed.
"Did he wake up or did you wake him up?" He asked.
I smirked. "I may have woken him up, but for a really good reason. I want to go to Coffee Connection. I went there all the time this summer and I missed it."
He laughed at me. "Okay. I'm gonna take a quick shower, then we'll go"
I squealed and hugged him. He was really sweaty. Carter walked out of the bathroom and Dad walked in. It took Dad all of five minutes to shower and get ready.
Dad grabbed the keys to the rental. "Okay let's go"
We all headed to the elevator. Carter was much happier now that he woke up. I skipped down the hall.
We got to the car and put the directions into the map. I might've been here all summer but I didn't know how to get around.
It was only a couple minutes away from the hotel.
We walked in and the familiar smell of CC filled my nose. I walked up to the counter.
"Hi, can I get a vanilla iced chai latte?" I asked the barista. "And I'm paying for whatever these two behind me want" I told her. She nodded and the boys ordered.
"Cora?" I heard a familiar voice ask. I turned around to see Haylie behind me with a huge grin plastered over her face.
"Surprise" I said and she ran into my arms.
She squealed and squeezed me tight. "I missed you so much."
I giggled. "I missed you so much."
She let go and looked at me. "Look how much you've grown."
"Hayls, it's been like a month." I rolled my eyes playfully at her. "Oh I almost forgot. This is my brother Carter and my dad, Randy."
She turned to them with a smile. "Oh it's so nice to finally meet you. Cori, has talked so much about the two of you. I could've sworn there were two more though"
Dad chuckled at her and reach out his hand. "Nice to meet you too and there are two more. They just couldn't be here."
"Is Chris-" I started but I was cut off by the one and only.
"Hey yo mama, I didn't know you were coming back so soon" Christian said. Carter straightened up. He stepped closer intimidatingly, clearly he wasn't a fan of the nickname.
"Christian!" I squealed and hugged him. He picked me up in a hug.
"You know this guy?" Carter asked.
I nodded and let go of him. "Carter, Dad, this is Will's roommate and my friend Christian. Christian, this is my brother, Carter, and my dad, Randy" I introduced them.
Christian stuck out his hand to shake the two of theirs. Carter still wasn't very welcoming.
"Sorry he's a bit overprotective" I whispered into Christian's ear.
"Nah it's fine, I understand."
"Christian? Haylie?" A new voice asked. I looked over to see the blonde girl from the FaceTime call with Will the other day, Ellie I think. She walked over and smiled at me.
"Cora, right? We met on FaceTime the other day. I'm Ellie."
I gave her a smile. "Yeah you're the one who took my boyfriend to a bar" I tried to say without sounding rude. Carter looked at me questioningly. I mouthed "I'll tell you later."
"Yeah sorry about that, he never gets out of his dorm room. He needed a night of college normalcy."
How would she know? She met him for a day and she was already taking him to the bar.
"Order for Cora!" The barista called and we got our drinks.
"Okay we better get going." I said.
"Hey Cor, Will should be getting back to the dorm in an hour or so. If you want to surprise him, be there in about forty-five minutes. I'll send you his schedule." Christian told me.
"Sounds great. I'll let you know"
"Bye Cori, I'll see you later." Haylie hugged me.
"Bye Hayls" I hugged her and we left CC.
