*y/n's pov*
I'd woken up to the sound of my comlink going off, the familiar voice of Palpatine playing on it.
Make your way to the hangar y/n, we leave promptly. His voice snaked from the comlink.
I pressed a button and spoke into it,"On my way Emperor."
I placed the device down on my bedside table, before sitting up and stretching my arms out.
I sighed, swinging my legs off the bed and walking over to my closet. I slung on my usual Sith robes, also slicking my hair back into a high ponytail before brushing my teeth. I didn't have time to eat, suppose that'd have to wait.
Once I felt presentable, I began making my way to the hangar, lifting my chin up at anyone I saw. It was about time I demonstrated my rank.
"General, you're just on time," His voice hissed,"For once."
"Yes Emperor, this mission is of utmost importance from my understanding, so I plan on putting in all my effort to make it a success." It was partly true, although I was dreading seeing Skywalkers face again.
"Good... Good."
With a wave of his hand, the Scimitar's entrance slid shut and the light from the hangar filtered out, leaving us in the dim lighting of the ship.
I sat myself in the pilot seat, determined to show off my skills of flying, as I'd been practicing more over the past year.
I powered up the engine, and opened the flight log I had set up yesterday, which had the destination's coordinates displayed on the screen. I then flicked the ignition switch along with a few others, and the ship hummed to life.
The ship began it's ascent off the ground before shooting out of the hangar at lightspeed. The journey to Coruscant had begun.
~~~
I stepped off the ship into the lively streets of Coruscant, the vibrant nightlife of the city surrounded me. Clubs we're open, bars, restaurants buzzing with life, the bustling traffic everywhere, the many neon signs and lights scattered as far as the eye could see illuminated the city.
I disguised my awe with an unfazed expression, I'd never let my mask slip.
"Follow me, you're a prisoner," Palpatine said in his usual dull tone, slipping handcuffs on me.
Smart. This'll let us get in without raising attention.
The Jedi Temple was a few turned corners from here and so we were there in no time.
"Stay quite," He said.
I nodded in return and let him guide me to the Jedi council.
"I've called a meeting so they should all be in there," He spoke out the side of his mouth, trying to stay discreet.
He managed to attract the attention of two guards who came over almost instantly.
"Escort her to the Council, and careful, she's precious cargo," He said in his snake-like voice, looking down on me.
*Anakin's pov*
Obi-Wan sat in his chair next to mine, a repetitive beeping emitting from the device in his hand.
But I didn't need an tracker to tell me she was close...
My heart was thundering in my chest, why had Palpatine called an emergency meeting? Why was she here?
My hands gripped the sides of my chair firmly, trying to ground myself. I could hear their footsteps coming closer. The familiar sound of clinking guards' boots. The tracker was beeping manically now, with Obi-Wan fiddling with it trying to turn it off, recieving a few odd looks from members of the Council.
"Darn thing," He muttered under his breath, jamming a button on the side which silenced it.
The silence in the room was now thick, defeaning. I hated it.
Light filtered in through the entranceway, and silhouettes emerged into the room.. There she was, her dark outline becoming clearer as they walked her to the centre of the circular room. I lifted my chin at the sight of her, staying composed. I could feel Obi-Wan's eyes on me.
The guards pushed her to her knees on the floor, her hands chained behind her back. She had a look of pure detest on her face, her brows furrowed as she glared up at the council.
Palpatine soon followed, entering the room and sitting himself in his usual space.
"Thank you for coming to this meeting on such late notice. It was an urgent matter, as you can see..." He spoke in his usual flat tone.
Obi-Wan exchanged a look of concern with me.
"Fellow council members, I have good reason to suggest that we keep this Sith Lady here at the temple, where she can learn... the Jedi way." There were audible gasps in the room, council members looking to one another in shock.
"Absolutely not! You must be out of your mind to suggest we let a Sith train with our Jedi!" Master Windu objected, standing from his seat.
There were various other outbursts, the room erupting with points against Palpatine.
"Council! Let me prove my case."
The room fell quite, everyone's attention turning to Palpatine.
I heard y/n mutter something under her breath, I could sense her boredom.
Obi-Wan's eyes furrowed, as though he were examining her, trying to figure her out.
I had that problem too.
The corner of his mouth lifted slightly. He had heard me.
Palpatine began,"This young Sith holds much potential; she is brave, strong, equipped with a fortified mind, and has triumphed many times on her missions, often faced with fatal danger, for this she would be a perfect asset." A few murmurs scattered across the room. "From the skills she displayed today, along with her determined attitude, she even reminded of a certain Anakin Skywalker."
At the mention of my name, I sat up straighter in my chair, uncomfortable by the comparison of her to me. I could feel people's eyes on me, their minds buzzing with curiousity, and then i sensed it. They could see the similarity. All I could do was look at Obi-Wan, he could possibly offer some comfort.
"So what are we supposed to do with this information?" Mace Windu interjected.
"I am requesting that she be taught the ways of the Jedi. She may be reluctant for now, but she'll come to her senses soon enough. I see great potential in her, potential to change the galaxy, to save lives."
Sure, his speech was inspiring, but was it enough to sway the council..
I could see faces pictured in deep thought, a few exchanged glances between people.
Then Yoda began,"Young Skywalker, the dream you had." Oh no, I knew where this was going. "Betrayed her, the Empire did, yes?"
I swallowed hard, avoiding anyone's eyes. Briefly glancing at her, I caught a glimpse of her questioning y/e/c eyes, and I forced myself to look away. It had been so long since that night. I swallowed hard again. Come on, focus.
"That would be correct," I sighed,"That's why she was released."
That was when we locked eyes, hers staring into mine, ripping my soul apart bit by bit. Our eyes lingered on each others, mine on her lips, then back to her eyes, and I saw hers trailing down my body..
The sound of Mace Windu's voice interuppted, and I sat back in my seat, feeling the blood rush to my face.
Attachment is forbidden. You know that. She is evil, you need to pull yourself together.
I straightened out my robes, and acted as though nothing had just happened.
"The Council shall discuss this, you'll have your answer by morning. Palpatine and Skywalker, you may leave." He gestured for the guards to take her away too.
"What!?" I questioned, rising from my seat. Although I already knew the answer.
"You remember what we discussed earlier, I'm sorry Anakin, but this is a serious matter."
I tensed my jaw, biting my tongue so hard, pleading with myself to not say anything. Instead I just nodded, before turning my back to them and leaving, leaving them to discuss this urgent matter without me.
You are not yet granted the rank of Master.
What bullshit.
