《Can love burn out? (Kai x reader){Completed}》18-S4: Tournament of Elements
Advertisement
Well, that was a big heart break. I ended up training away my pain at Borg industries.
Zane is dead.
Kai broke up with me and is an alcoholic/slither pit fighter now.
Jay works on a reality TV show WEARING MAKE UP.
Coles a lumberjack.
"Life can't get any harder can it?" I ask myself stabbing my fork into the steak.
"It could get even harder _____." I turned around to see mom standing at my door.
"M-mom, I didn't see you there."
"Of course you didn't, but Lloyd's look for you."
"Really? Where is he?"
"By now he should be coming back to get you to go the Chen's noodle house."
"Well, tell him I'm already there okay? Bye!" I quickly ran past mom and outside dad's teaching grounds and jumped off the tall hill to summon my dragon again.
~~~
I landed myself at Zane's memorial, it was covered in moss, spray paint, and bird shit. Seriously when was the last time someone cleaned this!?
"I'm so sorry Zane, I should've been there to help you." I pressed my hand against the plate at the bottom.
"We have to move on no matter what. Hanging onto the past won't change anything." I turned around to see Lloyd.
"Hey brother."
"Hey sister."
"How have you been?"
"Trying to force the others together at Chen's noodle house to get together again."
"That's....great Lloyd. I'm proud of how wise you became." I walked up to him giving a simple hug.
"Thanks, guess we're really becoming twins right?"
"We really are aren't we?"
"Let's get going, Coles probably waiting." Lloyd took my hand and walked down the street to chens noddle house.
And what do you know Cole was there eating the food already.
I quickly went and sat down down beside him taking one of the deep fried shrimp on his plate.
"Hey that's wrong to ste- oh hey ____, Lloyd."
"Hey Cole, how's, um, the lumber jack life?"
"I got noticed because I saved everybody, so I quit my job."
"I'm sorry about that."
"What do you want Lloyd? I though I made this clear for this to be short."
"Yea, uhhh, Jay and Kai are also coming." Lloyd quickly explained scratching the back of his neck.
"You did what!?!?!?"
"Damnit Lloyd i thought i made it clear I don't want to look at Kai right now!"
"Same here! I never thought i had to look at that dumb bluebell again!"
"Guys, come on, we're here to fix the team, not make it worse."
"Tell me to come back when Kai finally decided to tell me an explanation." I was about to stand up and leave until suddenly Lloyd at down right beside me squishing all 3 of us in one seat.
"If you want to see your friend again, go to the docks at midnight toMORROw night to compete in the tournament of elements. Tell no one or there will be consequences." I read out loud to the group in the back alley as Cole burped really out from a fortune cookie popping in his stomach.
"Lloyd?" I glance at him.
"I say we find out. Tournament of elements, do you think there's more people out there like us?"
"Judging from this script, I'm pretty sure there is."
"We should be getting ready, who knows what's out there at that tournament."
~~~
I quickly packed some extra clothes into my bag along with a photo of everyone together. Smiling oh so quieting,
"We'll find you Zane, no matter what buddy..."
I took my small bag and walked outside with Lloyd after running into Dad about a fishing trip. It was bad to lie, but, tell anyone and Zane could actually die. How did he even get to Chen's island anyway!?!
~~~
I stood by the docks talking to Cole and Lloyd about a plan if we do find Zane, that is until the ship arrived. Right before I could even take on step off the docks, Dad showed up.
"Daughter, son, do not go on that boat, Chen is a mastermind at fooling you."
"Dad! How did you know we were even here?" I asked poking my head to the side behind Lloyd.
"Trust me about this."
Another man showed up, his face was hella thin face and a rat like ponytail showed up. "What a nice way to finally meet you again Garmadon, or is it Sensei Garmadon?"
"Leave my children and students out of this Clouse."
"Sorry, but there's no more room."
Dad jumped on the moving boat and kicking one of those weird tattoo guys into the ocean.
"I guess there's room now."
~~~
"Dad, how come you never told us there were more people like us?"
"You were made to sound special, your job is to help protect ninjago from evil, all these people you see here are descendants of elemental masters."
"I already knew about this." I declared on the crate I was sitting on.
"And you never told us?!" Kai yelled out of nowhere.
"Shush it Kai, she may have a reason for it." Cole smacked the back of Kai's head.
"I did, one of my friends was the master of wind, but sadly, he went rogue and died couple of years after. His stubbornness is what got him killed.."
"What stubbornness?" Lloyd asked me.
"That's a story for another time brother."

"Oh come on ____! Tell us!" Jay yelled out.
"Shut your mouth zaptrap."
I sat there for what felt like hours, which probably is, Lloyd stayed with me throughout the entire ride. Even when Kai attacked Karloff trying to impress the hooded girl.
I pulled down my purple sweater as we near the island. It was a more tropical vibe then anything else. Nothing but luscious green trees as far as the horizon stretched. The only thing standing out the most was the over sized palace in the middle right on front of us.
Lloyd took hold of my hand as we approach this massive castle. As we enter this big ass place, a fat man who I presume is Chen, sits in the middle like a king ruling the country. Everyone sat down in a semi circle. I was between Lloyd and Dad at the left end of this satanic ritual.
"Welcome, to your DOOM!" Chen declared. I sat there unfazed by his quote well aware that he jokes a lot.
"Just kidding! Welcome to the tournament of elements! In this tournament you will all compete against each other to win!"
"What's the grand prize?" A emo edgy looking pile of ash man asked.
"Why, being the strongest elemental master ever! And a whole lifetime of Chen's noodles."
Cole bursted out crying about the noodle part. I scrunched up my nose starring at him.
"Heheh, sorry."
"I see we have a lot of masters this time, I see ash, shadow fire, energy and a spoken green one too." Chen quoted referring to Lloyd. I glance around the circle analyzing our opponents, but before I could even start, we were forced into our own rooms.
Inside was a basic purple based area. It had a sweet lavender scent to it too. On the one of the single walls, there was a giant portrait. More specifically, it was a giant portrait of everyone. On the night stand, there was a particular photo of 2 kids. It was me, when I was 12 or so, with
"Oh my god.." I began to tear up at that single photo. His green eyes were always so bright, even when he was frustrated beyond belief. I place the photo back down wiping away my tears.
"I couldn't save you then, and I couldn't save Zane, nothing's changed."
I plopped down on my bed starring at the ceiling, finally deciding to change, I changed into the purple Gi in the closet. Sleeveless, light weight. Okay Chen you win this round.
I pull the headband and tied it tight around my head. (
"ATTENTION COMPETITORS!! THERE ARE 19 JADE BLADES HIDDEN THROUGHOUT THIS PALACE. FIND ONE AND BRING IT TO THE MAIN HALL AND YOU PASS TO THE NEST ROUND! GOOOO!"
"Ugh, here we go again." I stand up slam open my door on the top floor beside Lloyd's. Immediately I notice the jade blade hanging in the chandelier at the center. Most may think it's impossible to get, BUT I HAVE A DRAGON!
I summoned my purple dragon and carefully take the blade out of the giant chandelier. I dissolved my dragon and jumped down jumping and running away from everyone and everything to be the first one in the room. Well besides Dad, Chen and Clouse and a couple of kabukis. I place my blade at the podium and sat down beside Dad.
"That was easy for you wasn't it?" He asked sitting beside me.
"Pfft, everyone went downstairs, I was the only one who stayed up, and what do you know there it was, just hanging in the fucking chandelier."
"Language young lady."
"Yea yea yea, language I know but Dad I'm 19, so is everyone else, I'm old enough to swear."
"I know, but if you're ever going to be a Sensei, you need to show respect and wisdom."
"Fineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee."
"Hey sis," Lloyd said running in holding a blade followed by Jay and Cole and other people.
"Man, you are fast as heck ____." Jay said panting harder then ever.
"Deal with it blueberry."
"Why am I always being called nicknames?!?!"
"Because, you deserve them blueberry."
"God fucking damnit _____!"
One blade.
One blade can determine wether Kai makes it or not. Honestly as much as it hate him right now, we need him to survive throughout this tournament.
The doors open to reveal......
Karloff.
Welp, we're fucked.
Never mind, a hand showed up and unscrewed his giant metal gloves. Kai took the jade blade and placed it on the podium. Declaring him to move on to the next round.
~~~
I stayed up all night starring at the stars. It was quiet, a small breeze had brushed my hair as if someone was caressing it.
"Why am I thinking of you? Your suppose to be dead, yet..." tears streamed down my cheeks silently. "Yet....it's as if your still here....standing right by me."
-----
Not far beside your balcony, is your brother, he decided some fresh air was in need so he went outside to find you crying in your arms. Not knowing what to do, he just stared, finally coming to an conclusion, he jumped over the gaping hole beneath and embraced you in a tight hug, showily sitting down.
"I don't know what's wrong, but I'm here _____."
8 270Apollyon's Curse
Within the pages of folklore and fantasy, tales of people who chase after the dream of eternity, of living forever, rarely find a happy ending. They are either struck by the grim truth of reality, give up, and return to mortality or face a ghastly realization of their wishes. The latter often the worse fate, as they come to realize, only far too late, that what they sacrificed was worth far more than the time they gained. Ultimately, the common thread in these stories is that “immortality is as much a curse as it is a blessing”. People either realize it early and give up or are doomed to inevitably face its consequences. In the world Enrich lives in, that saying does hold merit. Every pathway towards eternal life has shackles of its own. They bring those high above down to the ground, evening the playing field. It is thanks to these fundamental laws that ambitious mortals are able to defy the heavens and achieve immortality themselves. The variety of methods result in each of these bindings varying in intensity and degree of freedom. Enrich’s path doesn't break this trend. Though, after what he did to himself, most wouldn’t even consider him a living thing anymore. On the day of his ascension, a world’s worth of souls were melted and recast. On that day, the human’s path had reached its conclusion, recast into Apollyon. An artifact, a weapon, is eternal, after all. As for the curse? The payment will be made, as it must. So why not offload the curse to someone else? Mortals throw their lives away for all manner of petty reasons, noble or otherwise, especially in desperation. Eventually, someone will be willing to foot the bill. Most will if given the chance. The bait is far too tempting, after all. Power, status, knowledge. All at their fingertips. If only they say “yes”. And Apollyon is very willing to help any lost souls. If they give up everything in return, of course.
To be honest I will just write and upload whenever i feel like it, but if i find it getting relative success I can try write a bit more. This will just be a write, read then upload kind of thing for me while i try to flesh out more worldbuilding. I'm pretty novice when it comes to writing just a few years of secondary english under my belt but hardly any of that's creative. NGL, a lot of this world building is inspired by Tower of God or other fiction i have read, especially the tower-like setting.
