《Jade Garmadon: Lloyd Garmadons little brother》Chapter 11 ~A Good Day

Jade slept in my bed with me last night. I don't blame him though. If a dagger was thrown at me and I was close to getting stabbed in the head, I would want to sleep in my older brothers bed as well.
Jade was curled up into the smallest ball ever, using my chest as a pillow. It was 4:39 am. I did get some sleep but I didn't rest for long. I wanted to stay awake so nothing would hurt my brother. I gently reached over Jade and picked up my phone. I saw that I had a text message from Cole.
'Who is after Jade?? It's been messing with me all night. I want to know who it is so I can beat them up!'
I smiled a bit. Cole was always like the oldest brother of the group that would knock someone unconscious if they messed with one of us. I texted back.
'Idk. I have a note that says that I won't be able to protect Jade forever and that this person wants Jade. It was signed by someone called, Mr. C'
'Lets find who this Mr. C person is and beat them up!!'
'We need more information before we hunt down and beat up Mr. C'
'Ugh fine! Get some sleep Greenie'
'Same goes to you. You need some sleep as well in order to best up someone'
'Lol sleep now, talk later'
I turned off my phone and placed it back on the nightstand. I saw Astrid curled up on the foot of my bed, and she was purring.
Just as I closed my eyes I heard whimpering. My eyes shot wide open and I looked down at Jade. He was still asleep, but tears were streaming down his face. A nightmare. I hugged Jade, trying to comfort him, but he kept crying. I gently nudged him.

"Wake up, buddy" I whispered. He didn't hear me.
"Jade wake up." I spoke louder. He cried more. Soon enough he was bawling. I gently shook him, trying to wake him up.
"Jade! Wake up!!"
Just then Jade shot up. He was hyperventilating as tears kept flowing down his cheeks. He cried harder and I hugged him.
"There there, Jade. It was only a nightmare."
"T-there was a-a b-b-bad m-man a-and you d-died and I...h-he...he t-took me!!" Jade cried
"Hey, relax, buddy. I'm right here. Nothing will hurt you or me, and I won't die. I promise." I rubbed his back as I hugged him.
"I don't want you to die.." Jade whimpered.
"I wont. I promise." I reassured him. I wiped away his tears.
After I got Jade to calm down, he couldn't fall back asleep so we both snuck downstairs into the living room. Jade looked at the movies while I went into the kitchen to make some pancakes.
I walked into the living room and handed Jade a plate with pancakes on it, and sat down next to him on the couch.
"What movie are we watching, Jaddie?" I asked with a smile. He smiled back.
"Treasure Planet!" Jade giggled as he shoved a fork full of pancakes into his mouth. I chuckled and pressed play on the remote.

I watched Jade as he kept trying to do spinjitzu in the training room. Each attempt, he would either fall, or run into a wall. With each fail, I saw frustration grow in his eyes.
"Ugh! I'm never going to do spinjitzu!!" Jade pounded his foot on the floor. The lights flickered and then the wood board from under Jades foot, flipped up and smacked Jades face. Jade yelled in frustration, shadowy orbs formed at his hands.

"Jade, calm down or else you'll loose control of your element." I reminded him. He took a deep breath and his magic dissappeard. "Good. Now try again."
Jade attempted to do spinjitzu again, and after a few more tries, he started spinning and a purple and black tornado sparked up around him. Jade skidded to a stop and he looked over his shoulder back at me. He had a huge smile and a prideful sparkly in his eyes.
"Did you see me?! I did it! I did it! I did it!!!" Jade cheered in delight as he ran to me. I picked him up and tossed him in the air, then caught him.
"I did see you. That was amazing! I'm so very proud of you, Jaddie!" I grinned.
"Victory ice cream and candy?" Jade looked at me hopefully.
"Victory ice cream and candy!!" I cheered as we ran to the kitchen.
For the rest of the day, Jade gloated to everyone on how he did spinjitzu and that I was proud of him. Nothing bad happened for the entire day, which made the day even better. Mom and I tucked Jade into bed at night then mom brushed my side bangs out of my face and told me goodnight then she left to go into her room. I pulled up one of Jades bean bag to the side of his bed, and I laid down on the bean bag. Just to make sure Jade would be safe during the night, I slept in the bean bag all night, hoping that nothing bad would happen to Jade. After an hour or so, I drifted off to sleep, praying that Jade will be safe.

AI means Artificial Intelligence. But those words don't match Al, either of them. Neither Artificial, nor Intelligent. At least not at the beginning. The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.

Reasons to Stay
Immortality has a cost, it differs from person to person. Some regret seeing their loved ones die, some regret they themselves cannot die, some regret the boredom and some regret nothing. This man regrets not having a choice, so after millions of years of getting shot, beheaded, beaten, stabbed and stoned he escaped from the world by hiding in a bunker with his books. He had studied all forms of science, he had lived history and created art, he was content with being alone with his mind until one day a man with a monocle appears, and he learns the truth. Hi! This is my second novel and I just had this idea when I was trying to sleep and my mind was making me re-live all those goddamn nightmares you don't want when it's 1 am and dark as shit, so I thought of happy things like the fantasy genre and my inevitable death and i'm like why not?
