《Brother of Wind {book 6: Skybound}》chapter 13

The remaining four Ninja gathered in a studio.
"I wish I could tell you the mission is gonna be simple. It's not." Dareth said dramatically as the Ninja sat down.
"Uh, yeah, it is. In case no one told you, we got what we need to stop Nadakhan on the island." Cole said.
"After we go up there to save Jay, we take care of business. Simple."
"And when you fly your fancy Elemental Dragons up there, just how long do you think the three of you are gonna last against an entire crew of Sky Pirates?" Dareth pointed.
"Then we get all the help we need and hit them with brute force." Nya leaned forwards on her chair.
"The Commissioner said we'd have his department at our disposal."
"You have my department at your disposal. Just say the word." The Commissioner walked in with a few of his leading officers.
"Then the word is Goodbye." Dareth waved them off.
"As in, we say goodbye to Jay when they see us all coming."
"If we have them as an ally, it would be best to use the materials and resources. All we have is to sneak up there, get Jay back, have the police wait for us in a boat so we can get back to Ninjago and make a plan." Morro said. The other Ninja nodded with Morro's plan.
"No, this mission is not simple, but it's not impossible. Not without the help of a little magic. Movie magic. Kevin, Dan, the floor is yours." Dareth moved aside to reveal two people walking in with a board.
"Who are they? Retrieval experts?" Lloyd asked.
"Better. Screenwriters." Dareth said.
"So we got the message in the bottle from Jay that reads 'Don't worry about me, worry about stopping Nadakhan'.” Kevin said.
"That's nice and straightforward, but very unhelpful." Dan added. The Ninja all made a face.
"What's more interesting is the message behind the message." Dan showed the paper.
"Uh, you've lost me." Cole said.
"Well, he wrote the message on the blueprints of one of their vehicles, a Raid Zeppelin." Kevin showed the blueprints of the ship.
"So we suggest we use a little movie magic to recreate one of their ships so you can blend into their fleet." Dan waved his hands in the air.
Kevin nodded.
"Then, after our costumer disguises you as Sky Pirates and an acting coach teaches you their dialect to pass undetected--"
"Arr, ye matey. We be becoming pirates!" Lloyd shouted. The room was silent. A few of the Commissioner's men coughed.
"Okay." Morro placed a hand on Lloyd's shoulder.
"Good try."
"Okay, um, thinking on the fly. The green one can't do dialects." Kevin said.
"The mute Sky Pirate." Dan suggested.
"Yeah, that's it. Next, after we get you close enough…" Kevin pointed to Cole.
"Cole, the ghost ninja, sneaks aboard the Misfortune's Keep, to poison Nadakhan with the Tiger Widow venom and trap him." Dan said.
"Wait a minute, I thought the venom could only slow him down. How do we trap him?" Nya asked.
"Uh, okay, uh, just spit-balling here. Maybe it's an incantation. Something ancient." Kevin looked back to his board.
"With a lot of hard consonants." Dan said.
"Yeah. Like, uh…" Kevin started speaking gibberish.
"Great idea. Then, when Nadakhan gets trapped in the Djinn Blade, their friends are finally freed."
"Great idea."
The back and forth between Dan and Kevin finally stopped.

"Terrific, this is the plan? You're sending them up there without any real idea of what they may find or what they are up against, and your only answer is movie magic?" Ronin walked in.
"So maybe we haven't figured everything out. We're all under deadlines, you know." Dareth stepped back into the conversation. "I know it's a stretch, but this is by far the best bad idea we have."
"No." Morro raised his hand.
"Okay, hold on, I'm going to dissect your plan for a second." He adjusted himself in his chair.
"One, I'm not going with the pirate dress up plan. So I will just be hiding in the back, as backup if we need to do more stealth. Second, if I ever get caught, if I am needed to get out there, I can jump off." Morro took out his staff and extended it.
"I do know how to fly."
"So that means, if this plan goes sideways, we should have a police unit and a boat waiting for us below the floating cluster of islands." Morro finished.
"I got lost half way through." Lloyd said. Morro sighed.
"You guys can still dress up as pirates and build a ship or whatever. Cole will go invisible and get Jay out. After that, we meet up and sail back to Ninjago to make a more thought out plan of attack." Morro said, standing up.
"For every hour we waste, another piece of Ninjago goes missing. All right, let's make some magic, people." Dareth clapped his hands.
"Pretty good plan." Ronin crossed his arms.
"Barely thought it through, let's go." Morro waved him off.
Imaging a montage of things happening here. A Raid Zeppelin being built, Cole and Nya learning to speak while Lloyd stands there awkwardly.
"What happens if you get caught?" Nya asked Morro.
"Uh… Let's hope that doesn't happen." Morro shrugged.
"Not like you to think that way." Nya said.
"Lloyd's optimism is infecting me."
"That's nice."
. . .
"Should I junk the temple for scrap?" Dogshank asked as Yang's haunted temple from the last big adventure floated into the sky.
"No, keep it. I rather like the look of it. I could always use a temple." Nadakhan said.
"But clean it up. It's filthy."
Dogshank spared water on the whole temple. Yang busted out the door, his 'students' fleeing.
"This is my temple. I hold power over it!" Yang shouted.
"And take care of those pesky ghosts while you're at it. They are so last chapter." Nadakhan said.
"Quick, hurry. This way." Yang said as he guided his students away from the dreaded water.
"Sorry to bother you, Captain, but we've seemed to have recruited some landlubbers. They want to help you in your endeavors." Flintlocke said, two guys behind him.
"So you want to be pirates, do you? What is your name?" Nadakhan asked.
"Colin, Captain. And might I add—"
"What sort of a pirate name is that? From here on out, you'll be Landon. And what say your name be?" Nadakhan turned to the other giy.
"It's, uh, Landon, Captain."
"Ugh! Fine. Whatever. You're Sqiffy and you're, I don't know, Bucko."
"Get these two clowns out of here. I'm trying to build a world." Nadakhan whispered to Flintlocke.
"Aye, aye. And don't worry, Captain. With more help, we'll have Djinjago up and running soon enough." Flintlock and the two recruits left.
"Yes, it will be. And when the last ninja is mine and I marry the girl, I'll have all the wishes I want, and nothing will be able to stop me." Nadakhan oversaw his cluster of land.

"Uh, were you talking to me, Ca-Captain?" Clancee asked.
"No, Clancee, I was talking to myself. Now get back to work!"
. . .
"All right, we're getting close." Lloyd said.
"So I'm putting the venom in his cup or no?" Cole asked.
"Only a bit. It will get us more time if he drinks it." Morro nodded. Nya, Lloyd and Cole were dressed up as pirates while Morro was in his gi.
"You have the venom, Cole. I mean, Black Blood." Lloyd said.
"I sure do, but aren't you supposed to keep quiet, Mutt the Mute?" Cole asked, grinning.
"You're making me cringe. Stop." Morro said.
"We may only have one shot here. Oh, I don't like this. I don't like this at all." Nya sighed.
"What's wrong? I've never seen you so afraid." Cole said.
"I just hope Jay's all right." Nya said.
"It's been so long, we don't even know if he's--"
"Don't say it. He'll be okay. We've already lost too many. We're not gonna lose him." Cole reassured.
"I'm counting on you to get him out, Cole." Morro said.
"Not pressured at all." Cole nodded.
"I'll bring her in close." Nya steered the wheel to the ship they built surprisingly quickly.
"Go!" Llpyd whisper shouted as Nya hovered close to the ground. Cole dissapeared and was on his way.
He made his way to the biggest ship. He came across Monkey Wrench but stayed silent. Monkey Wrench left and Cole accidentally spilled a barrel of oil. Monkey Wrench looked back and glared at the spilled oil, eventually going away fully. Cole continued on, a few of his footsteps being marked but not too many.
The invisible Ninja spotted Doubloon with the keys on his belt. Cole quickly snatched the key ring for himself, assuming Jay would be locked up somewhere.
Cole stumbled into Nadakhan's quarters. He reappeared in sight and pulled out the bottle of poison. He found Nadakhan's room first, guess he pours the poison first. Cole took off the cap and set the bottle down, taking Nadakhan's chalice.
"Cole? Is that you?"
The ninja turned around.
"Jay! You're okay!" He slid dowm to meet a fallen and tires Jay.
"What happened to your eye?" He asked spotting the eyepath. Little did Cole know, nothing happened to his eye.
"Why--... Why are you dressed like a pirate?" Jay asked.
"Don't worry about that. Our friends are nearby. We're gonna get you out of here and get back to Ninjago so we can make a plan." Cole unlocked the ball and chain off of Jay's leg.
"Boy, am I glad to see you. Cole, I'm sorry about keeping secrets and lying and--"
"And I should've been a better friend." Cole interrupted.
"Don't worry about it. Save your strength. We can laugh about this when it's all behind us." Cole helped Jay up.
"Behind you!" Jay quietly shouted.
"Quick, hide in there." Cole pushed Jay into a closet. Cole picked up the ball and chain and hit it under the bed in the room, disappearing after.
"Ugh! I forgot to pour the venom!" Cole whispered to himself eyeing the flask on the table.
"We're out of Fiddlehead cider. Make sure someone plunders a new case for me!" Nadakhan entered the room.
"Aye, aye, Captain. You may need a new cloak. It may be cold and really windy outside this fine evening." Flintlocke saluted before walking away.
"Good idea." Nadakhan said. He moved to the closet. Jay was still in there and fearing for his life. The ship suddenly jerked off balance and the ball and chain fell out of its hiding place.
"Our prisoner's escaped! Search the ship!" Nadakhan shouted, exiting his room.
"Aye, aye, Captain. We won't let him get away!" Flintlocke called after.
"We better get out of here, and fast." Cole reappeared and grabbed Jay, helping him walk.
. . .
"What's taking them so long?" Nya asked.
"Don't ask me. I'm not supposed to talk." Lloyd said.
"Then don't talk." Morro said, sitting behind the wheel, hiding.
"That's where the other Zeppelin is?" Clancee climbed to the Ninja's fake ship.
"Oh, hiding away so the new b-blood could steal a break, eh? Don't worry, I won't tell. What be your names?" Clancee asked.
"Uh, the name's…uh." Nya cleared her throat and changed to disguise her voice.
"The name's Scallywag. And this here is Mutt the Mute." Nya motioned to Lloyd who nervously smiled. Nya had a mustache on, so they couldn't recognize her and go: "DeLaRA?"
"Well, listen here, Mutt and Scallywag, 'cause I'm only gonna tell you once how things g-g-g-go around here." Clancee said.
"At the top of the ladder, you got Nadakhan. After him, it's Flintlocke. Then Doubloon. Oh, no, no, wait. It's, uh, D-D-Dogshank." As Clancee listed off names, Lloyd noticed Nya's fake mustache started to slip. He tired to motion it to her while Clancee had his back turned, but Lloyd could never get though to her. Morro was sitting on the ground behind the wheel, literally praying that this would be over in like 6 seconds.
"Either way, careful using the work 'wish' around the captain. It's tempting, but w-w-wishes aren't free. I never used mine. But why would I? A pirate's life is great!" Clancee said. Morro shifted in place after that.
Clancee had his back turned again.
"M-mustache!" Lloyd whispered. Nya slightly gasped and quickly fixed it.
"Hey! Y-Y-You talked. I thought you were mute." Clancee whipped around.
"Aye. It be a miracle. Arr!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"They say you were born with no tongue, but look at that. There it is." Nya laughed awkwardly. Morro was getting second hand embarrasment even though no one could see him.
"All hands, keep an eye out for anything suspicious. The prisoner has escaped." Flintlocke's voice shouted on a speaker (which they had apparently idk)
"Hey…" Clancee turned to Lloyd and Nya.
"What are you waiting for? You heard your orders. Be on the lookout. And we'll be needing a new name for you, Mutt the Mute. How about, uh, Mutt the Miracle?" Clancee said.
"Uh, sounds great. Love the idea."
Clancee left and the three Ninja sighed.
"That was close. We have to be ready when they get here." Nya said.
"Tell me about it." Lloyd said. Morro extended his glider and flew off. Lloyd turned back to see him go.
'Just remember to get to the boat not too far off, alright Lloyd?'
Lloyd nodded, but also wondered why Morro left so suddenly.
. . .
"Ah! The venom!" Cole just remembered as he and Jay were running.
"You had it and left it?!" Jay shouted.
"But we can't go back." He said.
"But we cant leave without it either! Withput that, how else xan we sto Nadalhan?!" Cole stopped in his tracks.
"I'll tell you where Lloyd, Morro and Nya are. You can fly to them--"
"I can't spark up my Dragon. I've been scrubbing the ship every waking moment." Jay said.
"You don't need to. There's a police unit on a boat not too far from here, you and use Airjitsu-- even it isn't full power." Cole said. A ship rose up from behind them.
"There they are. Follow me!!" Cole shouted, running at it.
They use Airjitsu to bounce on the ballon and land down. They look up to be surrounded byt the sky pirates.
"Uh-oh. I think we may have jumped on the wrong ship." Cole said timidly. They look down to see Lloyd and Nya captured, Morro still missing. Jay looked to Cole.
"I think I got that."

8 1366The Tower Must Fall - Combat Gardener
If you're interested in a conceptual, ground-up rewrite leave a comment and tell me what you loved about it. I've got a pretty good idea of what everyone hated so there's no need for expounding on that. Gardener? A support class? This can't be! What was all my hard work for? Forget this world. Forget the System. Even if I'm a lowly support class, I'll take on the Tower and take them all down! Since the System appeared one hundred years ago, humanity has been divided into three: combat classes, intellectual classes, and support classes. Assigned at the moment of high school graduation, one's class determines their future. Rowan wanted the most out of life. A combat class, an intellectual class, either would be fine. When he is instead assigned a support class, Gardener, he notices the System is completely rigged against support classes. Refusing to give up on his dream of realizing his future by his own terms, Rowan challenges the Tower, the seat of the System and home of the Hero-King, in hopes of bringing the entire System to its knees. Season One complete. Permanent Hiatus, Pending Rewrite. Important notes: -LitRPG fantasy -Rowan is not perfect. He's got flaws, emotions, and personal issues to work through. If you want a perfect, overpowered MC who makes the right decision every time, this is NOT the work for you. -This story opens with a negative situation and an emotional growth arc for the main character. Please don't review until chapter 30 because the arc is not complete until that chapter. (Chapters are short, that's an average RR book's chapter 10) -No harem, no rape, no isekai, no romance -Questions? Please ask!
