《Brother of Wind {Book 8: the Sons of Garmadon}》Chapter 6

Nya sat beside Kai in the bridge.
"Where's Cole?" He asked.
"And Zane. I haven't seen them. Did they get back or...?" Kai looked around.
"They're on a mission. They got info out of the perp and now they're headed to pursue the lead they got." Nya said.
"I see. Oh no." Kai paused.
"They better not disguise themselves." He sighed.
"Can't count on it." Nya said.
"I bet Morro would be much better in recon." Kai leaned on the desk in the bridge and looked to the deck as the night neared the sky.
Morro leaned on the Bounty's railings, one hand covering his face, making it look like he was sleeping. He looked to his right and saw Harumi walking up.
"Do you mind if I join you?" She asked. Morro shook his head. Harumi carefully stepped to the edge, beside Morro.
"I still can't completely take in the view from the skies." Harumi said. Morro stook a step back, resting his hands on the railings as he sighed.
"But I bet you see this everyday. With you flying in the skies all the time." She smiled.
"It must be nice." Harumi shifted her hand close to Morro's. As soon as they touched, Morro pulled his right hand back and stared at Harumi.
Morro glanced to below deck then back at Harumi. He gripped the green cloth around his right arm and rushed to the deck below.
"Morro, I didn't mean--" Harumi walked after him. Morro was well below deck, passing by Jay.
He saw Morro rush away and Harumi chasing after him.
"What happened?" Jay asked.
"I... I don't know." Harumi said.
"I didn't mean to--"
"No, it's all good." Jay said.
"He's kinda like that with everyone he meets that's new." The Ninja smiled.
"I feel like he hates me." Harumi said.
"He's only talked to me once."
Jay sighed.
"Well. Uh... People deal with grief in different ways. Usually, we try to leave him alone, but he has to try more. We'll talk to him." He smiled as he walked up to the bridge.
Harumi sighed and smiled at the mention of Morro.
In the quarters of the Ninja, Morro walked in and almost slammed the door. Lloyd, who was on his bed, jumped. Morro went straight to his bed and opened the compartment under it. He took out two small stacks of paper and climbed onto his bed.
Six beds were on one side of the room but since there were seven Ninja, the last bed was on the other end of the room. Lloyd sat on the edge of his bed as he watched Morro spread out his papers with a pencil in his hand.
There were two maps. And multiple papers around. Lloyd walked up to see what they were. One map had the note pad that Morro was writing on earlier that morning. He was trying to find the location of the third mask. Lloyd then looked at the second map. It was to find Wu's location. It was far more complex than the other map. More notes and marks and places crossed out.

"Morro?" Lloyd asked.
"Why are you doing this?" He pushed past his brother to get a closer look.
"I'm trying to find the locations." Morro replied.
"Ah... Uh. Okay, but for now, I think we should put this one away." Lloyd pointed to the map trying to locate Wu's location.
"What?! No way! I'm going to keep looking." Morro pushed Lloyd back.
"But we have a bigger threat right now. The Royal Family is gone now. We have to focus on the Oni Masks and clear the danger for the Princess." Lloyd said.
"So what?" Morro asked.
"I can multitask." He said, turning back to his work.
"Aniki, come on! Is her safety not important to you?" Lloyd asked.
"No, it's not that, Lloyd, I just need to--" Morro sighed.
"Look, Kane. I need to do this. You said we're not resting until we find my father, well I won't rest." He said.
"Because if one more person I love is taken away..."
'I don't know what happens after that.'
Lloyd took a deep sigh with the silence of the room.
"But I'll still turn my attention to the princess. Just not all the time." Morro said.
"I... I know that, Aniki." Lloyd replied.
"Guys! Guys!" Jay threw the door open.
"Pixal just got a transmission from Zane!" He shouted.
The brothers exchanged glances as Jay ran out of the room and onto the deck. Harumi saw them and followed to the bridge where everyone present on the Bounty was.
"Hypothetically, he would like me because in return I--" Kai was saying.
"I never voted against you, I'm like agreeing with you, you're just too scared to do something." Nya interrupted.
"Pixal got a message?" Lloyd asked. Nya nodded.
"We're just waiting for the video." She said, pointing to the screen. The group lined up to see as the video loaded up.
"Glow little glow worm. Glow and glimmer. Swim through the sea of night, little swimmer. Shine! Glow little glow worm. Glow and glimmer. Swim through the sea of night. Little swimmer."
The group on the Bounty stared at what they saw on the screen. Cole was "disguised" as some man with an open vest, a fedora and a moustache.
"What is Cole doing?" Jay asked.
I don't know, but please tell me you are recording this." Kai said.
"Zane informed me he has a plan to gain the Sons of Garmadon's trust. But for it to work..." Pixal started.
"Shine!" Cole yelled.
"...we must trust him." Pixal finished.
"I'm not sure I do." Morro said.
"Uh, no one answered my question." Kai said.
"Yes, Kai, yes, I am recording and I am making copies. Lots of copies." Jay laughed.
"Send me one." Lloyd said.
And just like that, a "disguised" Cole was singing Karaoke of a children's song at a bar.
"Light up you little 'ol bug of lightning. When you gotta glow you glimmer glimmer." Cole kept on going. Oh wait a second. That's Rocky Dangerbuff not Cole. My mistake.

The crowd, which was full of Sons of Garmadon members, started to get annoyed.
"Boo!"
"How long is this song?" Rocky- Know what? I'm just calling him Cole. The Sons of Garmadon started to barrage Cole with items and such to get Cole to stop.
"Time for the Triple Tiger Sashay!" Cole fought off a few guys but after, the disguise he wore fell off.
"Hey! He's one of those ninja!"
"Grab him!" Ultra Violet commanded from the top floor.
"Help me, Zane! Where are you?" Cole asked as began to fight again
"Find this Zane and grab him too!" Zane, disguised as "Snake Jaguar" shouted after he hit Cole with a chair.
"Why isn't Zane helping him?" Jay asked.
"Zane has blocked all communication." Pixal said.
"This is our only lead. We may never get a second chance." Nya exclaimed.
"Zane wanted us to trust him." Lloyd bit his lip.
"Zane is letting this happen!" Jay yelled.
"It's perfect." Morro grabbed two arnis sticks and threw them to Lloyd.
"Let's try something new. Let's make a scene." Morro rushed off of the Bounty. Lloyd fastened the arnis sticks to his belt.
"You heard him." Lloyd said.
"Pixal, watch over Rumi."
"My apologies, Princess." Pixal announced as the others rushed away.
"I can handle myself." Harumi said.
"I know how it feels, but Lloyd's right. Our first order is to protect you." Nya held her shoulder and smiled. Harumi sighed.
The Ninja jumped onto the Bounty's railings.
"Ready, ninja?" Lloyd asked.
"Go!"
They all jumped off, Morro cushioned their fall. The Sons of Garmadon saw their colours in the night.
"The ninja's got backup! Get the bosses out of here!" One member yelled.
"We gotta split!" Ultra Violet carried a tied up Cole onto her bike. Snake Jaguar turned to Dareth (who owned the establishment) he knew.
"Go get 'em." Dareth nodded. Snake Jaguar chased after the gang. The Ninja jumps to the road, disarming a few people and stealing their rides away. Mr. E revved up. Jay stole the electricity from the Neon sign and blasted E's bike which started to flare up. But that didn't stop E from running.
"Don't let him get away!" Lloyd yelled. Mr. E pulleys out the Mask of Vengeance. Placing it on, he gained his power boost. With faster pace and more stamina, E started to loose the Ninja, but not entirely. He reached a dead end in an alley, the only way out without getting caught was up. And he started to jump.
Lloyd, Kai, Jay, Nya and Morro drew their weapons and noticed Mr. E getting away by jumping on the laundry lines.
"Aw, I always hated doing laundry." Jay said.
"We can't let him escape!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"Then hurry!" Morro yelled as Lloyd started to run. Morro threw Lloyd up with his hands and Jay did with Nya and Kai. The five started to climb. Kai slinged Jay up by pulling his feet. Kai threw a small pot to render Mr. E off balance. He drew his swords. Lloyd brought out his arnis sticks.
Mr. E dropped down to Lloyd's line. Nya jumped up with him. Mr. E cut the line, making all of them fall. Nya and Lloyd caught a line while E used one to jump even higher.
The threw his swords, cutting Jay and Kai's lines, dropping them to the ground.
Nya slinged Lloyd up to the roof of the buildings as Morro jumped up with his wind.
"Get him!" Nya exclaimed.
Morro and Lloyd cornered Mr. E on the edge of the roof. Lloyd held up his new weapons as Morro held his own by his back. E ran forwards at Morro first. He raised his staff, redirecting the swings of his sword. Morro then used one edge of his staff to push Mr. E back towards Lloyd, who kicked his back and started on the attack.
Lloyd spun his sticks keeping half of Mr. E's attention to him as the other half was focused on Morro on the other side, opening his stance up for Lloyd to strike in. Mr. E was able to land a large kick to Lloyd's stomach, throwing him across roofs. The brothers both winced in pain.
Lloyd kicked up and fired up his powers. When he took the shot, the bell rang in the sound. Mr. E was knocked back to the edge of the roof, almost dropping the Mask below. Lloyd's sleeves were pinned to a wall by two shurikens as Snake Jaguar picked up Lloyd's arnis sticks to fight Morro back.
Snake Jaguar spun around to land a blow but Morro blocked him. Snake Jaguar then jumped up then faked a hit while he moved to sweep Morro off from under his feet.
"Hurry! There's no time!" Snake Jaguar grabbed Mr. He's hand and they escaped.
"No!" Lloyd yelled.
"He's getting away!" Jay exclaimed as he and the other two reached the top. Jay pulled the shurikens off of Lloyd's gi. They started to run after the escapees.
"We lost!" Morro exclaimed, reaching his arm out to stop his team.
"No! It can't be!" Kai yelled. Morro turned back to Kai and held a finger over his mouth. The team quieted down. Morro sighed and stood up straight. He held out his hand for Lloyd.
"Good acting." Morro said.
"Yeah." Lloyd clapped Morro's hand.
"Ow, that kick really hurt." He added.
"Yeah. I felt that." Morro said.
"What just happened?" Jay asked.
"We just gained their trust." Morro said.
"Or should I say..." Lloyd started.
"Zane did."

Asturian Warbringer - A LitRPG on Earth
Currently releasing 5 chapters a week Luke Kells liked only one thing about himself: his green eyes. He hated getting bullied, hated being poor, hated being an orphan, hated his weakness, hated the government, hated his life. If someone had given him a button to push and kill everyone but him and his granddad, he would've done it without a second thought. Then, one day, after fainting during a beating, he woke up with memories that would change his life. Magic, martial arts, how to craft special artifacts; he knew it all. Anyone would’ve taken that path to glory at once. However, he had to deal with a lot on his plate first. To even begin walking that path, Luke first had to deal with his own psychological issues. Almost two years of brutal bullying that was akin to torture and no support from the school staff of the police had left him with a broken soul. Before even realizing he could be rich or powerful, he had to bring himself out of the mental hellhole he found himself in. Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde. But that wasn’t as important as not making the local bully angry, right? A story about personal growth, overcoming obstacles, and reaching absolute glory at the end of the path. This is a slow-paced, character-centered story. If you want something faster paced, filled with almost immediate and nonstopping action, check out my other novel: Modern Awakening - A cultivation, LitRPG, apocalyptic novel. I am not professionally trained as a writer but I have tried my best to teach myself and make the chapters as clean as possible. I believe I have reached a point where my limited skills cannot improve the work or make any more corrections. It is very difficult to show this work, but if I do not, I fear I will never improve and learn. So here it is. To anyone who lends the time to read all of this and any of my chapters. Thank you.
