A man, Dr. Julien stepped through the snow of the Birch forest. A man approached, yhr main feature about him was his staff and a straw Kasa.
"Can I help you?" Julien asked.
"I'm looking for a boy named Zane." The man said.
"Hm. He's out back chopping wood. I'll take you to him." Julien replied. He started to move through the snow, the man following him.
"It's curious, you're our second guest in a long while. An old man visited us last night. He had taken ill, and he needed shelter. It was as if winter had followed him here." Julien explained.
"The Master of Ice." The man said.
"Well, of course, we gave him shelter, food." Julien continued.
"He was very thankful, and very intrigued by my son. It's peculiar. Ever since he left, Zane's been acting stranger than usual." Julien approached a thicker tree than usual.
"Very peculiar indeed." The man acknowledged.
"Here he is." Julien pointed to a boy, looked like a teen, blonde hair and a full while outfit.
"Hello, Zane." The man with the kasa said.
"Hello. Have we met?" Zane asked, carefully setting dowm his axe.
"No. But some would say I have a knack at finding young talent." The man replied.
"Do you need me to chop wood?" Zane asked.
"Hehe. Maybe one day, but not today." The man laughed in response.
"Then why are you here?" Zane asked.
"Are you lost?" He planted his fert firmly in the snow.
"Lost? Hm. An interesting word. Sometimes one has to be lost in order to be found." Wu said, looking at the light powder that glittered on the trees.
Zane pasued at that last remark.
"That does not make any sense." He said.
"Maybe one day, but not today. Goodbye, Zane." The man turned around.
"Uh, will I see you again?" Zane asked.
"I'm sure of it." The man raised his kasa.
"And when we do, you'll be asked to do far more than chop wood." Wu smiled with his parting.
. . .
"It's time you meet the Big Man." Ultra Violet snapped Zane-- Snake Jaguar- screw it I'm calling him Zane. She snapped Zane out of his thoughts.
"The Big Man?" Zane asked, focusing back on the fast moving walls of the subway tunnels. He focused back on what's ahead of him.

Lloyd almost fell off of the skytram until Morro caught him and pulled him back.
"Where was Zane last seen?" Lloyd asked, while raising his hand to thank Morro.
"Central Station." Jay said over the comm. He was back at the Bounty, searching at the Bridge.
"But once they went underground, Pixal lost his signal. We haven't been able to pick up Cole's intercom either." Jay finished.
"If they're taking Zane to their hideout, then Cole could be held captive there." Lloyd said.
"We won't lose them, Central's coming up." Morro said.
"Right." Lloyd said. He took a deep breath then jumped off the skytram. Morro followed in suite, opening his glider from time to time to slow down. Lloyd reached Morro's hand and they took a roll to land on the road.
. . .
"No sign of Zane or Cole. They could be anywhere by now." Lloyd reported to the Bounty. Nya tinkered away on something down below that made a lot of noise.
"Ugh, do you mind, sis? We're trying to save Cole and Zane." Kai exclaimed.
"What do you think I'm doing?" Nya looked up thrpugh the grate.
"Zane won't last long undercover in a biker gang without a bike." She said.
"Oh." Kai added.
"Harumi, can you hand me the electric torque wrench?" Nya asked, pointing.
"Yes, of course." Harumi picked up a tool.
"Sorry, I should've told you where it was. It's in the drawer. This is the wrong tool." Nya said.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Maybe I should be doing something more useful." Harumi sighed and walked off.
"Hey, did you find their hideout?" Kai asked again.
"No sign of Zane or Cole. They could be anywhere by now." Lloyd replied.
"Don't worry. We'll find them. Kai and I will search other stations." Jay said.
. . .
Lloyd stared at the subway map in Central. But it was so big and a bit confusing to read. Morro looked down and drew in the air with his finger.
'And what's that supposed to do?'
Lloyd tilted his head.
'I'm trying to remember the tunnels before we got a big renovation. For all we know, one of the old tunnels that hasn't been touched could lead to where they are.'
Morro kept on tracing in the air.

That wasn't a bad idea. Lloyd watched where Morro traced and compared it to the map.
"We'll find you guys." Lloyd said, determined.
. . .
Cole pulled on the bars of his cell. He then tried to punch it.
"Ah! Vengestone." His hand just bounced off. He bit his lip, trying to think of a way to get out.
"Careful!" A man exclaimed as he and one other brought a box towards where Cole was.
"What do you think I'm doing?" The other asked. Cole spotted the box they held.
"So, what's in the box?" The second asked.
"You haven't heard? The boss found the key for the last mask." The first man said as they put the box into the room across from Cole.
"They'll get all three..." Cole whispered.
"Ha! It's all coming together. It'll be good to see Lord Garmadon again." The firt man exclaimed.
"You mean it'll be bad." The second corrected.
Cole's gaze narrowed at the mention of that name. And Lord...
"Hey! What are you staring at?!" The first man exclaimed. Cole kept his mouth shut and backed up.
"Heh heh heh. Got you rattled up after that, huh?" The gang members laughed and left Cole to himself.
The Earth Ninja tried to see through the door's window to what was inside the room. There was still no way to exit. He'd have to get a little creative here.
He reached out of the bars. A pad lock. First, he looked for a rock or something to bash it open.
"Anything... Come on!" Cole exclaimed, looking around the cell.
"I want a word with the ninja! In private!" Ultra Violet yelled.
"Oh, hey, easy. Of course, Ultra Violet. He's all yours." The first man said.
"Yeah, as long as it's not me. Do whatever you want." The second said, rushing off.
Ultra Violet approached Cole's cell.
"I ain't in the mood, sunshine." Cole frowned. The person before him flicked and turned out to be Zane in disguise.
"Zane!" Cole exclaimed.
"Shh." The Nindroid shushed.
"Oh, haha! Oh, aren't you a sight for sore eyes." Cole leaned against the bars.
"Did they hurt your eyes?" Zane asked.
"Yes. No. I'll explain later. Just get me outta here. They have the key to the third mask." Cole pointed to the door.
"The key?" Zane repeated.
"If they unite all the masks, they're gonna resurrect Lord Garmadon. The bad one! Four arms and all." Cole exclaimed.
"We need to get that key and get outta here."
"Um..." Zane started.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Unlock the door. Let's go!" Cole said.
"I can't. I need to ride with them to learn who's behind all this." Zane said.
"In my last confrontation with them revealed that someone nammed the Quiet One is in charge."
"They're gonna get all the masks! Who cares who's in charge?" Cole said.
"When the station clears, break out. Break out and steal the key." Zane instructed.
"What do you mean I just walked past here? Get your eyes fixed." The real Ultra Violet's voice echoed doen the hall.
"Good luck, friend." Zane hid again.
"How am I supposed to steal the key? I need a key! Zane? Zane!" Cole yelled. Ultra Violet walked by and gave him a look.
"Uh...Sane! I'm not sane! Get me outta here! I'm insane! Argh! Aah!" Cole played it off.
"You and I both." UV laughed and walked off.
"Dang it!" Cole kicked the ground.
. . .
Zane, again in disguise was about to ride along side the Sons of Garmadon under the request of Killow, a big man with a strange accent. Something european. No rules, all the risk. For the mean time, Zane took UV's bike as she stayed behind. And then the gang rushes off through the tunnels.
The phone rang. Good to know this run down place has land line. Uv picked it up.
"What do you want?" She snapped. Then retracted.
"Oh. No, I'm sorry. I didn't know it was you." She said.
"What? He is? I'll tell Killow right away."
. . .
"Yes?" Killow picked up his communication device.
"He's one of the ninja." UV informed.
"Who?"
"Snake Jaguar."
"Snake Jaguar's a spy?" Killow looked up.
"Make sure the new guy doesn't finish the race!" He commanded.

Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.
