Claire POV-

" You think your gods can keep you safe. You think your gods can protect you from the darkness. Not even Dianite has control over such a thing. Your lord Mianite gave you light, he gave you land, he even calls the creatures that roam this earth his own. But there is something deep down that is his reckoning. It is a being. It is a force. It is the destruction of all. Not even Miante can withstand it. Do you wonder why your gods are so scarce? Do you wonder why there are so few? It is because I caught up to them. I am the shadows. The void is my domain where nothing can escape me. I am the reaper of souls. I am the bringer of death. Heed my warning. In due time I will call upon one of you, I will offer my dark blessing. I can give you power, fortune, and so much more. I can make you into what those gods could never be. Defy me and pay. I am the darkness that consumes. I am death."

They all stood there holding each other's hands, it was hard to see since the sky was so dark, it made it even more intense than it already was. Then Jordan saw a person fly by them and head towards the moon. None of them dared to move as if moving would get them killed. Then the priest landed in front of them, scaring the life out of them.

"I have some grave news. Its true. I heard stories from the Great Priests of Mianite about the shadows. I fear for the worse my fellow Mianitees. The shadow is real."

Then the priest turned around and saw the grave stone and turned back to face them once more.

" It appears he has also released death into this world, meaning his messenger Cronos can't be far from here. Beware. I must go speak to the gods."

With that he teleported away from them before they could ask any more questions. The sky had turned back to its original color, and the sun had come back to view. No one knew what to say but she could tell by looking at their eyes that they too felt watched. As if someone was there with them.

Thought out the day, Death seemed to tease them. Maybe death want a person but they sure felt a presence around that kept shooting fire arrows their direction. Doors were opening around them, lighting would fill the sky. He even tied to convince Tucker to kill Tom for power. Tucker may not like Tom as much as he likes Sonja, but they were friends, Tucker would never betray his friends, and he didn't. They even managed to speak to death through the world communicator, it appeared that Nade had turned to his side, makes sense since he left Dianite.

Finally Tom couldn't take it anymore, he was being haunted by death more so than the others, so Jordan agreed to let him sleep at her house because he didn't want to be alone.

On their way there she remembered.... this...wasn't right. She told Tom to meet her there, she had some things to take care of. Reluctantly he agreed and made his way to her house. Jordan decided to make her way to a place where no one would follow her, She made her way to one of her old secret hide outs from the war. Then, after she had secured the area, she concentrated on the world communicator.

"Dianite and Miante. I really need to speak to you, its very important." She said in her mind. It was set to a frequency that only the gods would be able to access. She wanted to keep this meeting private. Not long after, both gods teleported in front of her, when they did she quickly made her way towards Dinate...

"Who do you think you are summoning gods like its nothing, don't you....." before Dianite could finish Jordan slapped him across the face with all the strength she could muster. He looked extremely angry afterwards, Miante on the other hand just looked pleased.

"Do you think this is a joke! How could you!" She screamed at him

"What are you taking about!?" Dianite said as he got closer to her

" I know what this whole Shadows thing is! Its just so you can test loyalty! Tom is really freaked out you know, this isn't right, you've gone too far with this."

"What makes you think that!?"

" I just know! Ive seen it...never mind. Just drop the act already!"

"I can vouch for my brother, he really isn't behind this. What would make you think all this is fake?"said Miante

"I know how this works. Its all just a test. The shadows don't exist!"

"You couldn't be more wrong. We wish this was a ruse, truly. But I'm afraid this is real. The shadows do exist."

"Then...that means...I know who he really is. The shadows, he's your father right? This must be your father, but I though he wasn't alive here..." she said.

"How do you know that! No one knows of our lineage, much less an outsider!" Said Dianite

"I..read about it somewhere. Must have been some book I found at the priest's private library." She lied.

It didn't make sense though, that wasn't how this all played out in the stream. It couldn't be the world historian.

"She knows Dianite. We have to tell her everything." Said Miante trying to hold back his reckless brother.

"Fine. Yes it is our father. He came to this world without us finding out I guess. Truth be told, we cannot stop him. He is just like us, a god. We would need...a special weapon to kill him."

"Like the kikoku?"

"What is that? It doesn't sound of this world. Look, your world may kill gods with whatever that is but here there are only two weapons able to kill gods. Our father has one of them, a special bow but....Actually.. you may come in handy after all.." said Diante

" Brother, don't. We cannot subject her to do that. It is dangerous, besides you know father, he is a master manipulator. He could convince her on his side no problem, he is good at finding ones weaknesses" said Miante cautiously.

" Luckily she will have some good motivation. If you don't do this, I'll kill you over and over again till you beg me to end you once and for all" said Dianite as he grabbed her by the shoulders

"What my brother is trying to say is that, we could use your help. We cannot defeat him alone. Our father will bring chaos and destruction...it's what he has always done. He will create an even bigger disturbance in the balance of this world that could harm Ianite in ways you can't understand. That, and your friends may fall for his trickery and join him, its up to you to decide what to do about that."

"Why not just talk to them?"

"We mustn't alarm them more than they already are. As far as they are concerned we can keep them safe. That is why we will not talk to them for a while, they mustn't hear it form us, they can't know how big of a threat this is" said Miante

"Besides, this job will require stealth. Its must be an inside job" said Dianite

Was it really worth trusting the gods? Whatever their plan is sounds dangerous, but she had to help out her friends, they were all she had at the moment...

" What do I do?"

"Excellent. Fist you must understand that he will come recruit you, you must do as he asks, no matter how barbaric it may be. Don't be too willing though, let him have to persuade you so it seems more believable. No matter what he tells you, don't believe him, he will use your fears against you. Gain his trust, pretend to be considering joining his side, whatever the cost! Then, when he trust you, he will reward you with weapons. He will most likely convince you to hate us, so he will give you the bow to kill us. When he does, turn on him and end him with it." Said Dianite

" He will most likely make it public that you have turned on the gods once he trusts you. You must not let the others know the truth, even if they hate you for it, you must press on with the plan. They won't know it, but you will be saving their lives. Only problem is, some of them may be tricked into joining him. That will make things more difficult so you must act as though you follow him, who knows who is on his side, who he will send to test your loyalty. Can you do it?" Asked Miante

"I'll do my best. What will I do if the others hate me and try to kill me though?" She asked

"Then do as father would want and prove your loyalty. Kill them." Said Diante

"Your asking me to kill my friends! Besides lest just say this all goes well, what then?"

"We may just use your idea, say that it was fake, just as a test of loyalty. If everyone knew there were dangers like this, dangers we couldn't defeat, it would change everything. We are trusting you with this, resist the temptation from our father, help keep Ianite safe" said Miante

It was dangerous. She could risk her friendships for this. Besides how did she know they were telling the whole truth?

"I said I would do it. But I'm not doing this for either of you, I'm doing it to help Ianite. I'm going back home.... it's late. Oh wait! What about Death and Cronos?"

"They side with the shadows, there isn't much we can do to help. As far as I understand father may have Cronos reside her for a while, keeping an eye on everything and reporting back to him. You must stay in character at all times because of this. And remember, don't be so willing to do as father says, make it believable, Cronos will most likely let father know if something seems off." Mianite said

"Got it. See ya, I guess I won't be seeing you guys for a while?" She asked

"Its better this way. I'll go ahead and teleport you home, with the shadows out there, it's not safe to walk at night" said Miante as he got closer to her

Once she was teleported back home she went inside. She felt exhausted, all that information, the complexity of the plan. It was a lot to take in. The Shadows....she had seen what the world historian could do and they were essentially the same person, just alternate versions of themselves she though.

When she walked in to her room she saw Tom working on some potions, when he saw she was home he dismissed what he was doing and came over to hug her...

"Woah what's wrong Tom!"she said surprised

"You took so long, I though death went after you. I was getting some invisibility potions ready to go try and find you! Where were you?" He asked, angry this time.

"Your not my dad Tom! I was just....praying to Ianite. Thought maybe it would help..." she lied.

"Next time just pray inside mate! You scared me!"

"What? You don't think I can protect myself?" Jordan teased.

"You can! But this is death we're talking about! Let's just go to bed already, making potions was exhausting" he said making his way to HER bed.

"What! We can't sleep on the same bed! I'll go sleep on the couch downstairs, you take the bed." She said nervously

"The whole reason I'm here is because I don't want to be alone with death. If you're downstairs he could come and end me! Common mate!" He said as he pulled her into bed.

After being around the gods for so long she was too exhausted to fight. She grabbed her pillow and claimed the left side of the bed.

"Fine, just don't snore... Night Tom."

"Night Sparkly pants!" He said she settled in bed.

She turned her back on him so she could pretend she was alone. Then lighting rained across the sky, they could hear the sounds of pigs falling from the sky being turned into pigmen like they had before when death was messing with them. Maybe they shouldn't go outside for a while, Death sure is powerful. Then Tom slipped his arms around her waist from behind her. She flinched and tried to escape his grip.

"Relax. You seem scared, I'm being considerate here, don't be whining all night!"

She gave up. When it came to Tom, he always did whatever he wanted no mater how dumb of an idea it was. So she just closed her eyes and hoped that tomorrow would be better. She would need all her strength and non-existent acting abilities to fool the Shadows, if only her family knew what she was up to, they would be so pissed....
