Lord Ianite POV-

Who knows how much time had passed, it felt like years. When Dianite didn't come to grace him with his presence he had his servants of the nether come to...keep him company. As the days went by, Ianite's powers diminished even more. In due time, he may just become as weak as any human, he would be subject to extreme pain. The only think that gave him strength and hope was his champion.

It was a mystery how she came upon his dreams, that was something that had never happened before. From the moment he saw her he sensed the pureness of her heart and the strength of her soul. He was intrigued from the start, she seemed different from all the people he had seen in this world, not just because she wasn't from here, rather because of something he couldn't pinpoint yet. In the thousands of years he had been alive, he had never been so amazed by a human, taking to her seemed to slow time down for him.

It had been a while since he lost the ability to communicate with her, in a way, that was the most painful part of all this. He had finally met someone whom he trusted and was like him, now it seemed as if it was a distant dream.

Jordan was someone who truly made him feel worth something, not just because he was a god, she saw past that. She saw past the powers and physical attributes, it was the human parts of him that she had helped. She was awfully honest, not afraid to call him out on his mistakes, that was something he wasn't used to because as a god, everyone had taken his word for law for as long as he could remember. Jordan also never wanted anything from him, in fact, she wanted to help him and learn more about him. At times he found it funny how much she made him feel human, they could talk for hours and not run out of topics to speak of at times.

These thoughts had been helping him bare trough the pain, and the fact that Dianite hadn't been around as often had given him more time to concentrate on them.

Had he become bored of torturing him?

It seems as though, once again, he had spoken too soon. Ianite opened his eyes to look his brother as he entered the room. If there was one thing he wouldn't also himself to do was show defeat to his brother. He walked tall and proud, as always he gazed at the chains with pride before looking at him directly. He dismissed his guards almost instantly before addressing Ianite directly.

"Hello dear brother" spoke Dianite, summoning a small flame on the palm of his hand, " you don't looks so good brother, has the war weakened you?"

"Skip the mockery brother"

"Wow! Someone is, as the human say, incredibly salty. Still upset your champion was tortured?"

"As if it didn't bother you as well. I can see it in your eyes, you can pretend and lie to the world but not to me. What is it you want with her, if you even lay a finger on her I swear.."

"What! You cant even move! And for your information, I already have. She is quite feisty ill say, is that why you love her brother?"

"She is my champion Dianite, don't disrespect her. I've heard that you have shown her mercy, the lord of the nether rarely does so,I believe you are the one who should keep your feelings in check. Even if you have very few"

" Oh brother don't let your jealousy show! She will soon join my side and we will bring chaos to the land and to you. But I will say that she has been sleeping with one of my followers."

"She wouldn't..."

"Why wouldn't she? Look for yourself..."

Then Dianite brought forth his magic mirror to Ianite's view. It was a gift from father when they were just boys, it was a very powerful object mother had tried to destroy once, the sight of it made him sick. Mother had told Ianite that it was an object containing great levels of dark manic that should be destroyed, unfortunately she never got to carry out that task...

Dianite then summoned the mirror to show Jordan's current image.

Ianite had thought this a joke until he saw his champion in bed with the one he believed to be called Syndicate. A truly reckless fellow from what he remembered. For some reason this bothered Ianite...it must be because he was an Dianitee! He could hurt her, being a follower of Dinate could put her in harms way, that's why he felt that pain in his chest. He was so close to her, embracing her in his arms, who knew, maybe he had a knife in hand to stab her with. If he did, he would suffer dearly.

Only problem was, all he could do was watch, there was no way to help her. He had gotten to know almost everything about her in the times they had spoken in their dreams, it's as though he had known her for a long time, he felt responsible for her. The only thing that gave him comfort was that it seemed that his brother was equally as bothered, he tried to hide it with a devil smile but he knew his brother all too well.

When they were children, Dinate was always father's favorite, he always got whatever he wanted. Being a spoiled child caused him to grow a determination to get everything he wanted. As kids it wasn't too bad, his drive mostly involved toys and such, now it involved power and humans. Something that started as a small ambition grew into something more horrific that he and Miante had noticed early on after their parents deaths. It was as of recently that he had noticed Dianite looking at Jordan with that drive in his eyes, a look he knew far to well.

Dianite had him watch as his champion was tortured what seemed like not to long ago, it was a replacement for his daily torture, that hurt just as much. The need for justice had boiled through Ianite's body, it still did. Now she seemed better at least, her wounds seemed as though they were gone, which in a way was a relief. Only thing was, Ianite had seen the man she was with, he had seen Syndicate stand there as she was tortured, at least he though so.

How could she have forgiven him? Not likely, this was probably a trick. There were also other things that were off, the sky seemed unstable, and she seemed tense...

"What kind of set up is this brother, have you sunk that low?"

"This is no set up and you know it. She is quite the social butterfly, towards him, me, and perhaps even Miante. How does that feel by the way? Your oldest brother trying to steal your girl!"

"She has a name! And Miante wouldn't try to gain another follower, he knows how much she means to me."

"Is that so? Then how come she has mother's necklace? Look closer...he gave it to her, we both know what kind of gesture that is amongst gods."

Sure enough she was wearing mother's necklace. But Ianite was sure that his brother hadn't given it to her with THOSE intentions. Dianite was just trying to hurt him, he was just messing with his head...

That brought other thought to his head. Was she still wearing the bracelet he had given her? Her arm were inside the covers so he couldn't tell. Maybe she had thrown it away... no, she wouldn't.

"What do you want to hear from me? What do you wish to gain?"

"Hahaha. Your pain is my reward, as I said from the first day I brought you here, you will suffer in more ways than one. This was just to show you that you really must give up on that hope you have been holding on to. She will forget about you one way or another, you are no longer in her life! You will soon become a ghost to her as you did to the world, just as your precious Ianeria."

Burning buildings, loud screams, the dark skies, the bodies, and the stained water.

Those were the memories that haunted him of the town he once loved, his home. The one Dianite destroyed when he captured him. It had probably been years since, but it still felt as though it happened yesterday. It was one of the things that brought him the most pain, that had been what had changed his life.

" Mark my worlds brother, she will leave you. When she does ill make sure you get a front row seat at the reveal...guards...my brother is looking a little pale..why don't you give him some color on his face. Farewell brother, I would love to stay but I have a young lady to visit, after all, working together requires us to spend much time together. Enjoy the treatment"

"You can torture me all you want brother! You won't gain anything out of this!"

Dianite smashed the door closed behind him, leaving Ianite to his thoughts, wondering what he mean by that. Then Ianite noticed the servants came closer with looks of glee on their faces, getting ready for their daily pastime. The only thing that bothered him right now was brother's last words, not even the pain could silence them. He hoped that he was wrong, he had to believe she would come for him, it was his only hope at this point.
