《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch29- The grave

Claire POV-
It had been a few weeks after they had been judged by the gods. The world was calmer, less violent. The priest had announced that purges would be held ever so often to keep the peace, which was an idea Jordan could get behind. They hadn't heard from the gods for a while since the tank of Judgement, the nether was closed off to everyone so who knew what Dianite was doing in there. The priest had mentioned yesterday that the gods were pleased with the peace being kept in the world. Turns out, the gods didn't really care that we were murdering each other, at least Mianite didn't.
She had heard a conversation that Mianite had with the priest a few days back. She wanted to ask if she could use the priest's enchantment table for a bow for the next purge and found them having a private talk. She should have left, she was gonna leave, then she heard Ianite's name.
Mianite had said, "I'm glad that all of this violence and fighting has been contained. The injustice and bloodlust had made Ianite even weaker than he already was.... if it had kept going..he may have suffered dearly, even Dianite agreed that he wasn't in the mood to have a dead brother."
"At least that's all taken care of my lord. About the other problem... where is it now?" Said the priest.
"I know not. All I know is that our biggest problem at the moment is Ianite, I wish I could do more for my dear brother. He is always helping others, working hard to preserve balance, he doesn't deserve this madness. I can feel the balance shifting more these days, I'm afraid of what will happen if we don't find a way to solve this in time..."said Miante
"I'm afraid neither one of us can go rescue him. The laws of the world are beyond our control, an Ianitee is needed for this. I know there are some left far beyond the island, but I don't know whether contacting them would be a good idea. I heard they aren't.....civilized, they would just add more violence between them and our maniacs here in the island."
"Lets hope this works out for the better, I feel drained of my strength already"
When she heard that she didn't think much of it. She just wanted to get out of there before they found out she was listening, but it did tell her how bad the situation was. This wasn't just about Ianite suffering, what Dianite was doing had concequences, things that could affect this world.

This isn't even your world. Just focus on getting home. She thought to herself. She couldn't think like that though, this may not be her world but she still cared about it, and most of the people in it. But by the looks of it there wasn't much she could do until they instructed her on what to do.
She went down stairs to get some breakfast, she couldn't cook for the life of her though. Back home she never had to make meals for herself so if she were to try to make something her house would probably just catch on fire. Instead she decided to go to Tom's house, he always had nice things for breakfast.
After the tank, their friendship had been building back up slowly. They had been training again, helping each other get back on their feet since the war had affected them both, and playing pranks on each other to pass the time.
Tucker and Sonja were inseparable, sometimes Jordan felt as though she was intruding on their moments, as did Tom. So they both decided to give them some time alone to spend as a couple, that caused her and Tom to spend more time together than usual. It was worth it though, Tucker and Sonja were adorable, Sonja would spend most of her time picking yellow flowers for her boyfriend, his "favorite". In turn, he would spend his time making stuff for her since she didn't get a whole lot of gifts from Mianite as he did.
As Jordan made her way to the shore, she pushed out a boat she kept handy on the sand. She placed in on the ocean and began rowing her way to Tom's new house. It was on a small island not too far from the shore so it wasn't too far.
She wasn't planning on going anywhere today originally, there really wasn't much to do. Tucker and Sonja were gonna fix up their house they had just moved into together, the Modesteps and Nade were gonna mine all day to recover supplies so they're would be down there for days, and the priest was off on a meeting with the gods.
Staying at home seemed like a really good idea, she rarely had time to relax in this world, with all the mobs and crazy inhabitants, she always had to stay on her feet. At least she would start out her day right with some good breakfast, maybe she could learn how to cook for herself one day so she would stop bothering Tom, just not today.

When she made it to Tom's island she pushed her boat out of the water and left it resting on the shore. Tom saw her through his kitchen window and waved at her to go in. The house smelled so nice, like chicken strips and bacon.
"Well hello there Sparkles, what brings your face here?"
"Breakfast, I'm starving!" She said as she took a bite of the bacon he had on his hand.
"Well, that was rude mate! Hold on I'm gonna go get some stuff to drink. Be back in a second" Tom made his way downstairs as Jordan had settled at the kitchen table. Suddenly she heard Tom scream.
She ran downstairs with sword in hand, ready for a battle. When's she got downstairs she saw Tom screaming at a wall, she wasn't sure if he was just being crazy or what so she slowly started making her way back upstairs.
"He took it! That son of a bitch!" He screamed
"Who took what?" Jordan said making her way to him
"My Dianite armor. Nade stole it! I can't even confront him about it he is gonna be mining for the next few days! He's probably so far down there I'll never find him and the world communicator doesn't work that well underground. I swear I'm gonna get him back!"
"Are you sure it was him?"
"Read the sign"
I will no longer be Dianite's bitch. Fuck the gods. We are DemiGods. -Nadeshot
"He stole it! How dare he! Just wait till he comes back!" Said Tom
Then a loud noise came from upstairs. That better not be Nade, she though. She did'n't want to play a part in this conflict.
They both rushed upstairs, when they found nothing out of the ordinary they headed outside. Right outside was a giant grave stone, Jordan could have sworn that wasn't here before when she came in.. Tom gave her a confused look and they both went to go get a closer look.
"The hell is this? Does Nade think that he's being funny. This grave stone has my name on it." He said.
"Lets see what's indside" Jordan said
"Fine, there may be a chest inside or something"
When they dug it out there truly was a chest as they had predicted. Without taking the chest out they opened it up to find some really weird stuff. There was a zombie skull with Tom's name engraved on it, some bones, ashes, some ender pearls, a book, a bow, and.....no way. Marlin was in a small fish bowl without a care in the world.
Tom quickly took him out and embraced the fish bowl. Then her ran inside and put on on the shelf right next to his door. He came back out with a confused look. Jordan took out the book and saw that there was only writhing on the first two pages. Tom came to her side and both of them read its contents.
Tom,
As you see I have returned your beloved Marlin...but if you defy me...this will be your fate! I have also given you a bow....This is not deaths bolt... but it will help you this coming purge day. My messenger will tell you of another gift...in due time. See you soon...
-Death..
"Whoa! What on earth is deaths bolt? And what does it mean by death? What kind of joke is this?" Asked Tom
"I'm not sure, it doesn't make sense for Nade to play trick on you like that"
"That's it. I'm telling the gang. Tucker, Sonja, guess what just happened. Death just wrote to me and Nade stole my Dianite armor."
"Tom! They're on a date!" She said, but to her surprise they did answer.
"No way! We'll be right there!" Said Tucker.
When they got there they were all stumped on what this could be. Tom decided to leave everything as he found it in the grave, except for Marlin. They all decided to go inside to try to figure this out. As Tom and Jordan were making their way inside, the grave set on fire!
"What on earth!" Tom screamed
Then the sky turned red, the silhouette of a person appeared on the full moon. Then the world communicator started making odd noises. Then a deep voice became clear.

The True Endgame
What defines endgame content? Is it raiding epic dungeons to take down the strongest bosses there are, or is it facing off against other players to climb the ladder and become the top PvPer? Is endgame content gathering materials and crafting the strongest and most exotic equipment that there is, or is it all about playing the market and amassing more wealth than everybody else? Some people even argue that fashion and minigames are endgame content! Ryouta has already done all of that. Having spent most of his life playing MMO after MMO, he now finds himself wanting to live a virtual life that is far more relaxed and casual than what he is known for. To Ryouta, the true endgame is fishing. Cover illustrated by KoeHaru1!

Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
