《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch 6- A talk and a plan

Claire POV-
First thing she saw was two eyes staring right at her. Frightened, Claire rolled to the other side of the bed and ended up falling off. She was so used to the queen sized be d back home that this twin sized bed was gonna need some getting used to.
Once she slowed down her heart beat she turned back around and saw that it was Sonja.
"Hellooooooo! Good morning Jordan! Did you sleep well? I mean it looked like you were. Anyways we have breakfast ready for you. I washed the clothes I lend you while you slept and left them on your nightstand. Feel free to keep them, consider it a welcome present!"
With that she left the room and closed the door to give me some privacy.
Oh right! Somehow she pulled a Narnia a few days back, but instead of using a wardrobe to get to another world she had used a pocket of void. Guess after years of normality she needed an overdose of weirdness in her life.
After standing there processing her new life, she got dressed. Claire took a look at her belongings and hid them under the bed for safety. Afterwards she grabbed her sword on her way out and headed to where Sonja was.
When she opened the door, Tucker was waiting outside the room. He had a blank stare and was leaning against the door preventing her from going any further.
"Jordan, is it ok if we talk for a moment? I just have some stuff to ask you that I didn't get to ask before, and I'd rather Sonja not hear." As he spoke he made his way into her temporary room and closed the door.
Had she done something wrong?
Did she say or do something offensive?
Hopefully not, but his blank expression made it seem as though he was all business.
"Yeah, no problem. Whats on your mind?" Claire said quietly as to keep Sonja from listening, she doubted Sonja could but it was better to be safe.

"Since you will be staying in this world, I wanted to talk to you about a few things, how this place works, and about Tom." He took a big breath and continued, " In this world we spend out time dedicated to our gods, doing missions and tasks for them. We also have time of our own in which we prank each other, we do it for fun so don't get salty when someone pranks you, just prank them back. You seem to be good against mobs now so that wont be a problem..." he spaced out, like he forgot what else he wanted to say.
She sat on the bed and remembered what his last point was, something about Tom. When he didn't say anything for a few minutes, Claire decided to speak up.
" Don't worry about that, I don't take things to heart, but beware, I might just become the greatest prankster here!" That made them both laugh.
Then she added, " What did you want to say about Tom?"
He had that "that's what i forgot about" look and started speaking in a whisper.
" Tom told you about Dianite right? I don't think you should join him, Dianite is not a nice dude, if you don't please him he will kill you, or worse, punish you. I don't mean to sound like propaganda but Mianite isn't like that, maybe you should join me and Sonja. We would love to have you on our team!"
She thought he was done talking and just before she answered he held out his hand motioning her to hold her thoughts and continued. " I just don't want Tom's crush on you to sway your decision, I don't exactly know how you feel about him but I can tell you guys are close. Makes sense, he found you and you have spent 90% of your time here with him but just think about what's best for you."
Tom what!? Tucker was probably just mistaken. He was just showing me around. Claire certainly didn't have feelings for him, she practically just meet the guy! In all honesty, she was considering joining Dianite for a while, when fighting the mobs with Tom. It just seemed like the fun risky path to take.

She was finally free from her parents and she liked the idea of just doing reckless things for once. But the punishment side of things didn't sound fun at all. Claire knew a thing or two about the guy from what she'd seen on Youtube. On the other hand, Mianite seemed like the natural choice, if you didnt want bad you should join the good side right? But when she "met" him yesterday he seemed, well, serious. He seemed like a very controlling god that expected perfection, much like her father.
She hoped there was a third option, Ianite was the perfect balance between bad and good, in theory. But she didn't know if Ianite might be here. For starters Ianite was a guy! Or at least from what they know, if she could just meet him...
Maybe thats a good choice for her to take, If this was like the show, Ianite would be in need of rescuing. Which she didn't mind at all, in fact, she would love to be the girl that rescues the guy in distress. Reversing the roles of normal princess stories sounded more exciting than she thought.
Hold on, the story... Why did she not think of this before!? If the void brought her here then maybe the void can take her back! And when is the next time they encountered the void!? After saving Ianite! If they go along with the story and save Ianite then maybe she can ask her, or him, to take her home.
Worse case scenario, that doesn't work and she ends up in Ruxomar. But then she could just ask the expert to help her get home! After all Gaines did end up making a portal that is able to take them back home to Miante, possibly. He may be the answer to all these problems.
She must have been trapped in her thoughts for a while because Tucker shook her shoulders violently and said " Snap out of it! You have been staring at down at your hands for minutes. You don't have to decide now, but just know that you do have a choice. I trust you will make the right one" making sure to put on a big smile at the end.
"I think you may be mistaken about the Tom thing, he was just showing me around. I can guarantee we don't have feelings for each other, promise. As for the god dilemma, I believe I have made up my mind. Just need to sleep on my decision. I"ll let you guys know as soon as possible, for now consider me neutral".
" Alright then! Take all the time you need. Now come on, after breakfast we go find a spot to build your house!" That got her very excited, She would actually get to build a house!
Its probably gonna take weeks to finish but then she could at least have a place of her own! Tucker left the room and said he would meet her outside.
While walking around the house she noticed a mirror on the wall. She still looked like herself, but sure didn't feel like it. It was like staring into a familiar reflection that you no longer remembered. That sounds crazy since she's only been here for like a week apparently, most of it unconscious. Then...
How long was she in the the void then?
Claire tried not to linger on those thoughts since she didn't want to think about how long she has been a way from home. Who knows, maybe its been years and they have all forgotten her by now...

Ætla Verǫld
AV Online was just a flash in the pan—a harsh, experimental land which lost most of its players in mere weeks. Only the dedicated few remained, carving out their destinies in corners of the vast abandoned world. Lily Quinn wasn't one of them. With a career worth millions in the esports world, she didn't have time for a game like Avo—but when an exclusive beta test for the new version showed up on her doorstep, she couldn't say no… as much as she wanted to. Literally hooked into the simulation, Lily reluctantly entered a world beyond anything she'd ever dreamed of. Accompanied by seven other beta testers desperate to save their beloved game, Lily dives into a vibrant, beautiful world, where mystery and adventure waits around every corner. Despite her reservations, Lily finds a joyful escape in Avo, shattering her cold, hollow reality. It was just a game though… until the group discovered they couldn't log out. Trapped in a game with no rules, and surrounded by cutthroat players eager to kill for a quick windfall, Lily and her ragged band have no choice but to fight their way out, or die in a game that has turned all too real. Hi there! I'm setting off on yet another adventure, come join me :3 Unusually for me, there's only one perspective this time, and it's quite a bit more action-oriented than I usually write. Don't worry, though: everything's still as character-driven as always, and I never get tired of writing dialogue. Just to acknowledge it up front: this story is heavily inspired by EVE Online and the many stories generated by that world. However, since this is a fantasy setting, not sci-fi, don't expect any real parallels. Chapter publish rate for this one will be whenever I write them, as with Epilogue. I don't expect to move as fast here though, since it's not for NaNo. The plan is chapters somewhere in the 4k-5k range, and hopefully frequently. The Last Science takes priority as always though. Special thanks to Reaver and Ace Arriande for pushing me to get this going, and to all my fellow writers whom I've stolen from been inspired by. You're all wonderful people and I love you Quick reminder: Patrons get to read ahead of what's published! Also, try my other works: The Last Science — A Tale of Modern Magic Epilogue — A Post-Fantasy Psychodrama What are you still doing on the synopsis? Get to reading!
