《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch.2 -It's them.....no way!

Claire POV-
Thats it she was mental.
Claire tried to pinch herself as an attempt to wake up, but it didn't work. She was still there in Tom's arms. So that meant she was dead, great...she didn't even get to take her finals. She looked around to find their were around what looked like man made structures now.
She was no doctor, but she could tell her wounds needed some serious attention right about now. There was blood all over, it was even staining Tom's clothes, she couldn't help but feel kinda bad about that.
Claire moved her head back so she could look at Tom.
She hadn't noticed that Tom was looking at her so intensely until he said. " Thats odd, according to this your name is Jordan Sparkles. I get that you don't trust me yet but its stupid to lie about your name when I can see it" Immediately, she could see how hurt he was.
Could see her name? What on earth was this guy saying?
" I swear to you I didn't lie! How can you tell what my name is? However you did, you are mistaken, Jordan Maron is Captain Sparkles not me. But I guess it doesn't matter since I'm dreaming or dead." After that she just sank back to his chest, it was a lot more exhausting to talk than usual.
As she rested her body on his chest she noticed all the wounds she had. It was bad. She had multiple large open wounds and was practically covered in her own blood. Her ribs felt like someone had danced on them over and over again, not to mention she had an excruciating headache. Even the sound of Tom's voice was enough to provoke a wave of pain in her head, but he talked anyways.
" I can tell what it is because of your name tag provided by the world communicator, duh. And trust me you aren't dead, but you will be if I don't get you help soon." He examined the wounds once more, stopping to put his suit jacket over her? Then with that out of the way, he began sprinting to his destination as Claire slowly fell asleep in his arms.

When she woke up, the first thing she saw was a sword in front of her face.
Wait what! A sword!
Claire stayed very still and tried to analyze the situation. There were three people in the room. On her left there was a young woman with ears and a tail dressed in orange, she assumed that to be Sonja. On her right was the man with green skin, obviously that was Tom. When she looked over to see who was wielding the sword, it could be assumed that was Tucker.
He didn't look threatening but he was somewhat scared. "Ok look, I don't want to use this but I want to make sure you aren't a threat. Who are you and where are you from?" He asked firmly.
"As I told Tom, my name is Claire and I'm from California, now I don't know who put you up to this but this isn't a funny joke, there is no way I can be in Mianite, it doesn't exist!" Claire must have screamed the last part a little too loud because they all looked at her like she was crazy.
" What on Mianite's name is California? Look never mind, we can discuss where you came from later with a map. Aside from lying about your name can you at least tell us the truth about one thing? Can you tell us who you worship so we can ask your god about you? See if that can help." Tom said.
Who she worshiped?
To be honest, she didn't really think about religion much but based on what was known about this world she guessed that there were three obvious choices to pick from, but just to make sure she decided to ask. After all Tom though she was Sparkles, so her imagination must have scrambled up a few things.
"What do you mean by gods? I've never seen a god in my life." With that, they all started laughing. Tucker even put his sword down so he could properly laugh at her.

Then who she assumed to be Sonja spoke up, " Oh honey! You must have hit your head hard. How do you not know about the two gods? You know, the two brothers, Mianite and Dianite?" She said with a soft tone.
"What about Ianite?" Crap, that spilled out of her mouth. Claire wanted to keep the fact that I knew stuff about this realm from them, just to be safe. It could come in handy later on.
Well, so much for that. But she was very curious as to why Ianite wasn't mentioned.
After a few seconds they all looked at her with relief and humor.
" You mean the mysterious third brother that as far as we know doesn't even exists?" Tucker said.
" What do you mean brother? Ianite is a woman? You know, Lady Ianite. Goddess of the End or something like that." That got her three puzzled faces.
"Claire, according to legend Ianite is their brother, you must have a concussion. But I should introduce myself you must be very weary being in a room with three strangers." Sonja said.
The truth was, she wasn't. Claire knew exactly who they were.
They all looked like the real youtubers but as if they were cosplaying as their characters. This was just starting to feel too real, but the science didn't add up. Lets just assume that the worm whole took her to another world, Mianite isn't real, its just a virtual world. The most logical explanation was that she was transported to a place in space and she died on the spot. Or maybe...
Before she could finish that thought, Sonja's voice snapped her out of her theorizing.
" My name is Sonja, you already met Tom, and that's my cranky boyfriend Tucker. Its nice to meet you Jordan!" They were all who they were supposed to be, so why wasn't Jordan with them, why did they think it was her?
" Its an honor to meet you all, but my name is Claire. Is there anyway I can speak to one of the two gods? Maybe they know what happened to me and how to send me home because this is getting a little weird" Claire finally said.
They're all looked at each other for a moment, clearly wondering what to do. From what she could gather from their expressions, Tucker didn't trust her. Sonja and Tom just looked concerned for her in a way, that didn't mean they're weren't holding their weapons just as tightly as Tucker though.
Honestly, she didn't know how to feel about meeting real life gods, specially Dianite. For all she knew he could just kill her as soon as he saw her.
From what she remembered, he was rather ruthless.
There is also the fact that she knew that he was keeping Ianite captive, if this was somehow real she was gonna kick his ass before she went back home, that is if she could get back.
Wait...home.
If she was alive and was missing, her parents would absolutely kill her! And she would have missed her finals! Just another worry in the back of her head as she sank back into the bed to rest while the others discussed their plans of action.

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.

Legacy of Blood
Ao Ruang lives in a village isolated from the outside world. Due to a tragic fate he finds himself far away from his home on the brink of death. Only to be entrusted with the legacy of a near extinct race.A Legacy he must embrace.A Legacy that fills humanity with suspicion and hate.A Legacy written in blood. Hello Author here!I hope you all are enjoying my take on a cultivation story. I wanted to take elements I enjoy from cultivation novels while avoiding some of the tropes and insane power creep. I want to keep things as grounded as possible. The story is a bit quick paced in the start, but you will find that it slows down to a decent pace later on. The romance is going to be a slow burn and I want to keep it a bit of a surprise. While our protagonist Ao Ruang is the main man of the story their were will be times other characters will get some love also.Lastly, there will be occasional goals from latest chapter if those goals are reached I will release a bonus side chapter that focuses on other characters we have met before and I'm considering having polls to decide who the side chapter will be on.Please consider supporting me in anyway you can. For now I'm just looking for people to review, suggest to others, and interact.Respectfully,Joseon Walking
