Over the next few weeks, the incident in the meeting room was now long forgotten and everyone had moved past it, including Mia.
She had later found that Sebastian had ended all relations that the company had with Paul Stein's and he also, personally brought up a case against him, with his lawyers acting like blood-thirsty sharks as they went after him.
He hadn't troubled her about it and didn't even bring up her name in the lawsuit, however when Mia found out, she spoke to Sebastian and brought up charges against him too. She refused to just let him off like that, especially if there was even the slightest chance that he could do this to someone else.
Mia felt lucky that Sebastian was so adamant to ruin him on her behalf, and she had him on her side, but not everyone had that. She felt it was her duty to do something and so she did.
It was a weird one. She never thought she would ever count herself fortunate to have Sebastian has her boss, and yet now she actually felt pleased about it.
One benefit of the incident, was that the working-relationship between Sebastian and Mia had become a more friendly one since then.
If he ever needed her to work late, he'd mention it earlier on and even took the initiative to order takeout for the both of them on those days, so they wouldn't starve. The two also went out for more lunches together, with Sebastian showing Mia more of his favourite places to eat, which were little hidden gems in the city.
Sebastian was still in two minds about Mia. He wasn't sure of his own feelings towards her but one thing he was sure of, was that he wouldn't be happy to see her with anyone else either. It was probably selfish of him, but he found he couldn't help it.
It probably wasn't great that he was still with Anna, despite not feeling anything for her like he did when he was with Mia.
The way Sebastian felt about Mia was completely different. With Anna, it was like he was making himself enjoy the relationship whereas with Mia, everything felt natural and like things were just falling into place.
Mia had to occasionally endure Anna's presence in the office, much to her chagrin.
Anna would never fail to make it known that Sebastian was hers, and this confused Mia completely, since she had never stated or made it seem like she had a claim over him. So why Anna constantly felt like she had to say something, was baffling to Mia.
However, she put up with it anyway, hoping that at some point her suffering like this would turn into some good luck for her in the future.
Today was incredibly exciting for Mia. It was the day that Aaron and Melissa were coming for a visit and she was ecstatic.
As she waited at the station with a big welcome sign, Mia stood there and tried to look out for her brother's tall figure - apparently she was the one who missed out on the good height gene.
Soon enough, Mia spotted him and she shouted loud, not caring for the people around her.
"Aaron!" She yelled and immediately Aaron's eyes snapped in her direction.
"Mia!" He yelled back with equal glee.
Mia ran to her brother and laughed herself at him, who immediately caught her in his arms and lifted her off the ground and hugged her tight. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him back, equally as tight.

"I've missed you," Mia mumbled into his shoulder.
Aaron just chuckled. "Missed you too, monkey."
"What, no hugs for me?" A soft voice the spoke up.
Mia looked up and saw Melissa standing there with a huge smile on her face.
"Melissa!" She shouted and pulled away from Aaron, breaking the hug between then to then pull Melissa into one.
"Ay, not too hard," Aaron said, as Mia hugged Melissa tightly and the two broke apart to glare at him.
"Why?" Mia asked and Aaron's eyes widened for a second, before he replied "She needs to breathe".
Mia couldn't help but chuckle at her brother's overprotectiveness over his fiancé. As if she could ever hurt Melissa with one of her hugs. That was just absurd.
"Don't be jealous," she chuckled, sticking out her tongue.
"Ah leave him, Mia," Melissa said, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
"I'm so excited to have you guys here," Mia beamed with a big smile and held up the 'welcome' sign up for them to see, like a child who was showing off their artwork.
When Aaron and Melissa first left to go live in France, it was hard for her. Mia was always so used to having her brother there for her, in the same country, so when she found out he wouldn't be, it wasn't easy. Especially with how close the siblings were. However, eventually they both made their peace with it and didn't let the distance effect their sibling-bond. Whenever they came for a visit, it was the best thing ever.
"You made us a sign! How cute," Melisaa cooed in delight as she took it from Mia's hands and observed it.
Mia tucked herself into Aaron's side, hugging his waist as he put an arm around his shoulders. This was the reason that he'd call her monkey.
"How long are you here for?" She the asked the couple.
"For a few days," Melissa replied.
Mia's expression saddened slightly. "Only a few days," she pouted, not too happy with the short amount of time.
Aaron chuckled noticing the look Mia had.
"Don't pout, monkey," he said, ruffling her hair slightly. "With Melissa and my timetable and work schedule, it was all that we could manage," he told her and Mia continued to pout.
"We'll come back real soon for another visit though," Aaron then added on.
A smile quickly replaced the pout. "That's what I like to hear," Mia said with a grin.
"Now can we get out of here? We need to go check into a hotel," Aaron said, noticing that they had been standing at the station for a while now.
Just as the three of them began to walk, with Aaron lugging a suitcase and duffle bag, Mia looked to him a little confused.
"Hotel?" She asked.
"As much as I love you, Mia, I'm not sharing your room with Melissa," Aaron said.
Mia then let out a snort. "As much as I love you, I'm not giving you my room".
"Feeling the love, Sis," Aaron then said with mock hurt.
Melissa lightly smacked his shoulder. "With your parents away in Canada for a wedding, we thought it just made sense to stay in a hotel for a few nights," she said.
"Fair enough," Mia nodded.
As they exited the station, they got into a cab waiting nearby and headed towards the hotel that Aaron and Melissa had booked beforehand. Mia was happy that it was one that wasn't too far from where she lived, and so they could see each other easily.

"So, we have something to tell you," Aaron said as he sat down on the sofa next to Melissa, slightly adjacent to the armchair Mia had settled into.
"Well that sounds ominous," Mia said, her brows raised and then letting out a little laugh at the end.
Aaron laughed at her words and shook his head. "No, it's good news," he assured her.
Mia's eyes darted from Aaron to Melissa, a confused expression on her face.
She noticed that Aaron kept looking towards Melissa, seemingly gesturing for her to say something, whereas she was giving him the same look. It was like watching some kind of silent-comedy act between the two, and Mia was clueless on what they wanted to tell her.
The room had fallen silent whilst the couple sent each other weird facial signals to talk, until Melissa huffed and looked towards Mia, who now sat in eager anticipation.
"You're going to be an aunty!" Melissa shouted, with a massive grin on her face.
Mia's eyes immediately widened. "Oh my God, you're pregnant!" She yelled out and simultaneously jumped out of her seat in glee.
"I'm going to be an aunty!! You guys are going to be parents!" She shouted excitedly.
"Well, that's usually how it goes," Aaron snorted.
Mia reached behind her and took a pillow from her chair and then used it to smack Aaron over his head.
"Shut up. I'm happy," Mia snapped at him.
Melissa laughed at the scene in front of her. To her, the siblings were like a comedy act.
"I can't wait to spoil the kid rotten," Mia then said and moved forward to hug Melissa.
She couldn't wait for her little niece or nephew to be here, so that she could buy them all those tiny little clothes and endless amount of toys. She was so excited to be their Aunt Mia.
"Oh, how I hope it's a boy," Aaron replied and shook his head.
Both girls then turned their heads towards him with a curious look on their face. "Why?" Mia questioned him.
"Makes things even," he said and gestured at the two of them.
"Wuss," Melissa smirked and Aaron playfully narrowed his eyes at her.
"I'm so happy for you guys," Mia said, her jaw beginning to hurt from the amount she had been grinning, but couldn't even care less.
Melissa smiled back at her. "You'll have to visit a lot more after," she said.
"Oh I'll be there so often, you'll get sick of me," Mia replied.
Aaron then raised a brow at her. "Get sick of you?" He asked, causing Mia to glare at her brother with narrowed eyes.
"Ow," he then whined, when Melissa smacked him upside the head for being mean. "See, this is why I want a boy," he added, whilst rubbing his head.
"If you have a boy, hands down, he'd going to be a little mamma's boy," Mia smirked. "Just like you," she then added.
"She has you there, babe," Melissa grinned.
Mia laughed at her words and then glanced at her phone when she felt a notification pop up.
She smiled when she read the text. Apparently, Sebastian was finding it truly difficult to handle the office without her, since he couldn't seem to find anything. He'd messaged many times this morning, each text a question that he needed answered urgently.
Mia answered his question and put the phone away, only to look up and find Aaron staring at her with a curious expression on his face.
So how's working for him going?" Aaron asked, distaste lacing his words.
"You mean Sebastian?" Mia raised her brow at him.
A look of surprise then came over his face. "You said his name," he said with widened eyes. "I thought he was equivalent to the devil or Voldemort," he added.
Mia couldn't help but let out a laugh at his words, since what he had said was what she had been calling Sebastian, refusing to say his name, as if it was cursed.
"He was, but we're on better terms now," she added.
"Since when?" Aaron asked, not entirely happy with her words.
"Not too long ago," Mia told him.
She decided that it was probably better to leave out all that had happened between Sebastian and her before, such him picking on her and planning that whole prank, which went horribly wrong afterwards.
It wasn't that she wanted to keep this from him, but most likely Aaron would lost his mind and possibly storm over to the office and get into a scuffle with Sebastian, something that Mia wanted to avoid.
She was a big girl and could handle this on her own, besides Sebastian and her had a better working relationship now, and she only had to stick it out for a few more months anyway.
"So you don't hate him now?" Melissa then questioned.
Mia gave her a smile. "Honestly, I didn't hate him. Strongly disliked would be better," she said.
She really didn't hate him. What he did in high-school was cruel, yes, but he was led on to believe lies, which fed to him by his close friends. It was obvious he would pick their side over hers and she couldn't hate him for that. If she were in his shoes, she probably would've done the same as him. Well, maybe not stealing a her first kiss, that would've been something she did differently though.
"Even after what he did?" Aaron exclaimed in disbelief.
Just the thought of how Mia had cried after that prom incident, made him so angry. He wanted to kill Tucker for what he did and even hurt Sebastian for taking things further.
"He was influenced," Mia pointed out and Aaron gave her a look, which she understood to mean, 'are you kidding me?'.
"Come on, if Melissa said that Blake did something, even if he hadn't, would a part of you not put her over him?" She asked.
Aaron paused for a moment, thinking of her words and goes to reply, "I..."
"You so would. You were basically whipped when it came to me," Melissa completed his words for him and laughed as she did, causing Aaron to narrow his eyes at her.
Mia bit back her laugh.
"Sebastian just believed his friends over his other mates' little sister. Apart from you, we didn't have anything between us for him to believe me. I'm not saying what he did wasn't shitty, it really was, but I can't hate him for it," Mia then said.
She had years to think over the incident and often changed her mind about how she felt about all of it. After working with Sebastian, her opinion of him had changed for the better.
He still should have given her the benefit of the doubt in the past, since she never displayed any kind of behaviour that would suggest otherwise, but overall he was influenced by those close to him. He had believed what he was made to believe at the time.
Aaron just sighed. "Has he even apologised for it?" He asked.
Mia shifted in her seat a little. "Not exactly."
"Are you serious right now!?" Aaron shouted, which caused Mia to wince a little, knowing that would be his reaction.
"We've seem to have formed an unspoken rule, of not talking about the past," she then said.
It wasn't like she didn't want to talk to Sebastian about everything that happened before, she wanted him to know the truth. Then again, thinking of the past brought up feelings that she wanted to keep buried. There was also a part of her that didn't know what Sebastian's reaction would be to that conversation.
During that meeting-room incident he believed her, but Mia assumed that was only because she had a recording to prove her innocence. Would Sebastian believe her side of the prom incident with no proof? Or would it just turn him back into the cold person she knew before?
In all honesty, Mia would rather move on from it all. Put it behind her, rather than dwell on the past and she assumed that Sebastian thought the same.
Even though deep down she knew she wasn't making the wisest decision.
"That's insane," Aaron scoffed.
"Aaron," Melissa said his name in a slightly warning tone and he just shook his head at her.
"No, Melissa. It's not right," he said.
Mia just lowered her head. "I just...you know how much I hate even thinking about that time," she said in a soft voice.
Whenever her mind wondered back to past she was reminded of Tucker's hands on her, his lips on her skin. The way everyone spoke about her, like she was desperate and wanted it to occur. The way Sebastian forcefully took her first kiss. Going to school after it all and the boys assumed her to be easy, and tried to get her to be with them. It was horrible to think of and Mia hated how helpless she felt - so weak and defenceless.
Although she changed herself since then, becoming a stronger person, the past was still something that haunted her.
"I know," Aaron sighed before he moved himself towards Mia and pulled her in for a hug.
"Would you do something for me?" Mia mumbled.
Aaron pulled away from her instantly and said "No."
"Aaron, don't be prick," Melissa scolded him.
"Would you meet him?" Mia asked, and pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose.
Aaron frowned. "What?"
"Would you meet Sebastian?" she clarified for him and quickly continued before he could interrupt. "I've always felt guilty that I'm partly to blame for breaking your friendship with him, and although I appreciate you choosing me over him, I still feel guilty," she said and Aaron shook his head at her.
"I'd do it again if I had to," he said and Mia smiled at him.
"And I love you for that, but please, will you meet him? For me?" She asked and gave him a look that he couldn't refuse.
Aaron felt his resolve beginning to crumble, but was trying to hold out.
"Oh just say yes, you tosser," Melissa rolled her eyes and Mia chuckled at her words.
"Fine. Only for you," he said and kissed the top of Mia's head.
"So whipped," Melissa muttered under her breath as she watched the cute sibling moment.
