Due to Aaron and Melissa's visit, Mia had taken two days off of work so that she could stay with them. Since they had arrived on a Thursday and intended to stay till Sunday evening, she would be spending those two working days and then the weekend with them.
Mia didn't want to miss a moment to be with her brother and Melissa, especially since she didn't get to see them so often.
Despite that, she was willing to spend some time away from Aaron, to organise the meeting between Sebastian and him.
The visit was a bit of a surprise and Mia wasn't entirely sure if Aaron would even agree, which didn't leave much time for her to prepare for a proper meet-up between Sebastian and him, but she was determined to make it happen nonetheless.
She'd rather have them meet sooner than later, and not prolong it any further.
Which is why she headed to the office on her day off, to execute her plan.
The sun was rising high in the sky on the surprisingly bright, Friday morning and despite having a fair of work that he should be doing, Sebastian was instead sat in his office with Blake, as the two threw a basketball to one another.
For some odd reason, he couldn't seem to find it in himself to concentrate on his work at all. He'd look at papers, and his mind would drift off. He'd look at his screen, his eyes would then wonder. Nothing seemed to hold his focus today. Or yesterday.
Luckily for him, Blake had come by his office to talk to him about his own work, which Sebastian then used as an excuse to put off his own pending work.
It was strange. This wasn't him. He never delayed his work to then procrastinate, he was always focused. Yet, for some unfathomable reason, today his mind wouldn't let him pay attention.
He also wasn't entirely happy that Mia had taken two days off from work, and worse, she didn't give him a reason. She had only requested to take 'personal days', but that was it. There was no other information and he couldn't even ask about it.
It wasn't that he couldn't manage himself, his work, or his calendar for two days, but he didn't want to.
As the two carried on to throw the ball to each other from across the desk, a gentle knock at his office door had both, Sebastian and Blake, looking towards it.
"Come in," Sebastian called out.
The door then opened and slowly Mia peered through, a small smile on her face.
Sebastian couldn't help the happy feeling that he felt within him. His lips twitched, and a corner of it began to curl upwards into a small, hesitant smile.
His actions were unknown to him, however Blake noticed it and thought to bring up later on, to take the piss out of him.
"Hi," Mia greeted the both of them with a smile, as she looked towards them and noticed the basketball in Blake's hand.
"Hi," Sebastian replied, almost breathlessly.
He then watched as she walked further into his office and stood next to the chair that Blake was sat in, her eyes solely on him.
"I thought you had the day off?" He then blurted out the question in confusion.
He didn't exactly meant to question why she was in his office right now, or make it sound as if she couldn't be in here, but he was just a little puzzled.
Mia nodded. "I do, I just needed to see you for something," she said.

Sebastian's eyes widened a little. He was a mix of emotions. Happy, that she was here to see him. Confused, as to why. Apprehensive, wondering if everything was okay.
"Are you free?" Mia then asked.
He blinked slowly with his brows raised at the question. "You're my assistant, you tell me," he replied, with a boyish-grin.
Mia chuckled. "You're free," she stated.
Meanwhile, Blake looked the two, as if he were watching a live-action tv drama. He couldn't help but roll his eyes and want to gag at their interaction. Although, a small, really tiny, part of him felt a little happy to see Sebastian like this, less of a prick.
Blake then looked at Mia with a cheeky grin.
"Hello, Mia," he greeted her.
She turned her head towards him, finally acknowledging that he was in the room as well and nodded at him.
"Hello, Blake," she responded with a tight-lipped smile.
"You haven't forgiven me, have you?" He asked her, referring to the previous incident, where he had planned for his mates to intimidate her, only for real bad guys showed up by accident.
Blake held a slightly amused expression. He could tell Mia was trying her best to be nice to him, but he saw past that forced smile. To him, it looked like she had a gun held to her head and forcing her interact with him.
Mia let out a snort at his words. "You never apologised," she pointed out.
"But I mean technically, because of me, you guys seem to be on better terms," he tried to reason.
"Because of you?" Mia said, with her brows raised.
Sebastian saw the way Blake grinned and he could instantly tell that whatever he was about to day, would just add furl to the fire and so instead, he decided to interpret before Blake could.
"Just apologise, you dick," he snapped.
"I'm kidding," Blake chuckled, with his arms raised and then gave Mia a serious look, which she could instantly tell was no serious at all.
"Mia, I am really sorry you got hurt, even though it wasn't really my fault, since they weren't actually my guys..."
Mia raised her hand. "Just stop talking. It's fine, you're forgiven," she said.
She just wanted for him to shut up. Besides, if his apology wasn't genuine, her accepting it and forgiving him, didn't have to be serious either.
Blake then looked at Sebastian, with a shit-eating grin, happy that he was off the hook.
Sebastian rolled his eyes and then focused back towards Mia.
"So, you wanted to know if I was free?" he asked her curiously, remembering that she came in here to ask him something.
Mia shifted in her spot slightly, feeling a little awkward.
She had no idea how this was going to go, but it didn't hurt to try to remedy the situation between them. She knew that Sebastian didn't like how abruptly his friendship ended with Aaron. She was also very much aware that, despite Aaron not showing it, he really missed his mates too.
She was doing this for her brother...and maybe a tiny bit for Sebastian.
"Right. Um, there's someone I wanted you to meet," she said and pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose, an action that Sebastian become to find adorable.
"Who?" Sebastian then asked.
There was a note of panic in his voice that he didn't intend on. It was just that he couldn't really imagine who Mia wanted him to meet, and the way she pushed her glasses up, and shifted awkwardly on the spot, he knew she was nervous about it. Which in turn, made him even more anxious.

On the other hand, Blake sat there wishing that he had popcorn.
"Mia, he's just your boss, not your Dad. You don't need his approval to date someone," he joked.
"Shut up," Sebastian then growled and Blake just childishly poked his tongue out in response.
"Who is it?" Sebastian asked Mia once more.
This time more sternly, as Blake's joke had got to him and part of him was slightly concerned on whether she actually had a man, that she wanted him to meet.
It was an absurd thought, he knew that. She wouldn't want him to meet her boyfriend so formally. Would she? No. She wouldn't. That would be weird. Unless, she thought about his reaction to her dinner with Mason and to avoid his cold behaviour, she wanted them to meet?
Mia was oblivious to Sebastian's thoughts about her potential man, and just held a smile on her face.
"Just someone," she responded and she attempted to be a little secretive and not give away that was in fact her brother.
Her answer did not ease Sebastian's mind.
"I've made reservations for you both for lunch, just be there, please," she said and this time Blake straightened up in his seat a bit more.
"Both? You mean me as well?" He asked and Mia nodded.
"Aw, Mia. I didn't know I mattered to you that much, that you want my approval too," he cooed and she rolled her eyes.
She didn't really know Blake that well, to know what he felt about Aaron not being around, but she knew that in high-school the two were close friends. She knew that Aaron was fond of Blake, since he was a bit of a jokester and could easily make someone laugh.
Mia ignored Blake and then looked towards Sebastian.
"The reservation is for 12:30pm at The Thorn. Please be there," she said.
Sebastian continued to sit at his desk and looked at her with a frown.
"Who are we meeting?" He asked again. He really didn't like going into something unknown.
Mia could sense his apprehension at the situation, but she really couldn't tell him, it was better left as a surprise.
"Just trust me?" She then asked him.
Sebastian's lips twitched in amusement, as he remembered the way he had asked her to trust him, when he had asked her to go to lunch with him for the first time.
"Okay," he finally agreed.
Mia then looked towards Blake expectedly, waiting on an answer from him.
He glanced towards Sebastian, before looking back at Mia. His curiosity got the best of him and he really wanted to know who this 'special lunch' was with.
"I'm in," he then nodded towards her.
Mia smiled. "Perfect. Hopefully you'll have a nice time" she said.
"Wait, aren't you coming as well?" He asked her.
Mia shook her head. "No, you need to have this meeting without me there."
Both Sebastian and Blake sat there, bewildered by Mia's answer and then looked towards each other in confusion. Their expression mirroring one another.
"I'll see you later," she then said, before turning around to walk out of the office.
She just prayed that all goes well.
After Mia had left his office, Sebastian felt restless.
He could barely concentrate on his work before and after Mia had visited and asked him to meet some unknown stranger, he couldn't even look at his papers now. His mind was wondering who could she want him to meet?
It was now lunchtime and Sebastian and Blake headed towards the restaurant where Mia had made a reservation.
"You have any clue why she set this up?" Blake asked Sebastian.
"Nope," he replied.
Blake saw the expression on Sebastian's face and grinned to himself. "Oo, what if she's setting you up on a blind date," he teased, unable to help himself.
"She wouldn't do that," Sebastian responded, but it was more of an answer to pacify himself. "Besides, why would she invite you if that was the case?" He then asked.
Blake just shrugged in response. "Double blind date?" he suggested.
Sebastian snorted. "You overestimate how much she likes you," he said.
"It's possible," Blake mused, bumping shoulders with Sebastian, who just shoved him back. The two acting like the teenagers they once were.
Upon reaching the restaurant, the pair look around and tried to look out for a familiar face that they could be here to meet, however couldn't really spot anyone.
From where they stood at the entrance of the restaurant, the two of them could see some people who were sitting alone, although they didn't really seem like they were waiting on anyone, but rather enjoying a quiet lunch.
"Hello. Welcome to the, The Thorn." A host then greeted the two, with a smile.
"Hi there, reservation for Carter?" Sebastian asked.
The host then looked down and checked his register, before nodding. "Of course, Sir. Your guest is already waiting at the table," he told him.
Sebastian and Blake looked towards each other and wondered who this 'mystery guest' could be.
"This way, please," the host smiled and gestured for the two of them to follow him.
The two men then followed the host, as he led them to their table.
Sebastian could hear Blake mutter behind him. "Please be a hot chick."
He couldn't help shake his head at the words. He really doubted that there was a 'hot chick' waiting for them at the table. Although, he'd rather sit there and watch Blake fawn over some woman, for the entire lunch, than possibly dine with a potential boyfriend of Mia's.
"Here we are, gentlemen. Enjoy," the host said, his hand outstretched to the table and took his leave, whilst Sebastian and Blake stood there frozen.
"Aaron?" Sebastian questioned in surprise, at the figure sitting at the table.
He was at a complete loss for words seeing his former best friend sitting at the table. This was definitely not something that he expected at all.
"Boys," Aaron nodded with a faint smile.
Needless to say, he really did miss both of his mates. The trio were so close back in high-school, until the prom incident ruined it all. Aaron never blamed Mia for it, not once. It was his own decision to not be friends with them, after everything that he had seen.
It pained him to leave them all behind. To not have his mates to share things with, like when he got his new job, when had proposed to Melissa, buying a house. Even the fact that he was going to be a Dad. Although Aaron had made new friends, it wouldn't be the same without his boys.
"I think we have the wrong table," Sebastian said.
Aaron chuckled. "You don't. Come, sit down," he gestured to the empty seats in front of him.
"What the fuck," Blake said as soon as he slipped into his seat opposite Aaron. It was a complete shock to the pair to see him there.
"Took less than a minute and you already dropped the f-bomb. Glad to know not a lot has changed," Aaron then laughed.
"What are you doing here?" Sebastian asked him, getting straight to the point.
He found it odd that after all these years Aaron was suddenly here and cracking jokes, as if nothing had happened. As if he hadn't stopped contact with them all those years ago.
"Mia," was all he responded with.
Sebastian then nodded in understanding. "She called you," he said, with a slight frown.
He assumed that the only reason that Aaron was here, was because Mia had called him to resolve their issues, and probably coaxed him into this meeting. Cleary Aaron expected to see both Blake and him here, so this wasn't a surprise. But Sebastian doubted that Aaron was here, out of his own accord.
"I came for a visit," Aaron informed the pair. "She asked me to meet you guys and said that she's on better terms with Sebastian, so I should be too," he added.
Blake scoffed. "So you wouldn't be meeting us if it wasn't for her."
"Until she hadn't moved on, I wasn't going to either," Aaron stated.
"Moved on?" Sebastian asked, in confusion.
Aaron's jaw clenched slightly. "From the incident," he gritted out, his body now tense as he tried his best to rein-in his anger.
"You broke us up because of her," Blake said.
Aaron gave him a cold look. "She's my baby sister. If I had to do it again, I will," he confessed.
He was never going to apologise or feel bad for choosing Mia over his friends, since he'd do it again in a heartbeat, if the situation arose. He'd stand by her, always. He promised her that he would and he intended on forever keeping that promise.
"Seriously?" Blake questioned.
"Always," Aaron replied without hesitation. "Plus, what you did was so shitty. You deserved the punch I gave you," he said to Sebastian, causing him to wince slightly.
"But what happened was..." Blake was about to say but Aaron held up his hand.
"Look, Mia's only request was that we don't bring that incident up from the past. I'm not going to talk about her or it, when she's not here," he said.
The only thing Mia asked of him, was that Aaron try to stay away from that topic as much as he could. Although, he knew it was inevitable for it to be brought up.
Mia still hadn't discussed it with Sebastian but she didn't intend on it either. She knew that it wasn't the wisest choice, but she'd rather keep the past behind her and not go back to it.
"That's bullshit," Blake shouted, not caring for the people around them. "You clearly left because of it, we deserve-," he started to say but Aaron stopped him once again, cutting his words off.
"You broke her," Aaron sadly said.
He remembered how Mia cried in his arms that night after the incident. How, for an entire week, she didn't sleep and barely ate, constantly getting nightmares. How she came home crying from school, when everyone called her all sorts of horrid names and harassing her.
"What?" Sebastian whispered in a faint voice. Something in his chest clenched slightly hearing those words.
"You heard me," Aaron said aggressively, not intending on repeated his words.
He then took a deep breath, closing his eyes and then reopens them. "Look I came here, to see you both, not to talk about that. You haven't spoken to Mia about it, so you should start with her and not me," he told Sebastian and Blake calmly.
"So what now?" Blake asked.
"It's up to you," Aaron shrugged. "I won't stop you, if you want to get up and leave, I'll understand. But I won't lie, I've missed you boys," he said with a sad smile.
Sebastian and Blake both glanced to each other and nodded, before looking at Aaron
"We're staying," they said in unison.
"Good," Aaron breathed in relief. "Man, do you know how hard it is to replace you both," he added, causing the pair to chuckle, and just like that, the tension between them was gone.
"We're irreplaceable," Blake replied, with a dramatic hair flip. "But we managed to find two people to replace you," he added.
"Gee, thanks," Aaron rolled his eyes.
"They're good people. You'll like them," Sebastian continued.
After ordering some food and continuing the small talk, all seemed good with the boys once again. As if they hadn't been away from each other for all those years.
"So, what are you up to nowadays?" Sebastian asked Aaron.
He smiled. "Well, I'm engaged to Melissa and now I have a little baby on the way," he said so nonchalantly.
Blake's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. "What!?" He shouted, choking on his food slightly.
"You're going to be a Dad," Sebastian stated, whilst patting Blake's back, who was violently coughing.
"Yup," Aaron grinned at the two, still on cloud nine after finding out about Melissa's pregnancy. Every time he thought about it, a smile came across his face.
"Wow, man. That's... that's so weird," Sebastian chuckled.
His friend becoming a dad was such an odd thing to him. Especially since this was the same guy, he once saw chug down three pints of beer on a dare.
"Trust me, I know," Aaron laughed.
"I call Godfather," Blake then announced.
Sebastian then turned to Blake. "You can't just call Godfather," he said.
"I just did," Blake childishly responded, sticking out his tongue.
Ignoring Blake, Sebastian turned back towards Aaron. "I'm surprised though, I thought you and Mel would be married by now."
"We should be," Aaron nodded. "I popped the question ages ago, but I couldn't marry her. Not yet."
"Why?" Sebastian questioned him and Blake looked on equally confused.
