Both Mia and Sebastian became the talk of the office after that incident. Unlike high school, this time everyone was more sympathetic towards Mia, and part of her knew that this was only because she had the recording. If she didn't, would all these people still support her? Or would they turn against her like the others did before? She couldn't help but wonder.
Soon after Paul was escorted out of the building, Mia left the meeting room too, and headed towards the restroom. She needed to fix her appearance and more importantly, she needed to calm herself down.
In that moment, Sebastian felt too angry at the whole situation to say anything and instead, he just let Mia walk past him and leave the room.
He then stormed off to his own office to cool down, before he did some stupid, like punch a hole in the wall.
Everyone else went back to their desks and it seemed like nothing had happened. Only the scattered papers on the floor of the meeting room were evidence of what had occurred minutes before.
Not long after, Sebastian was sat at his desk, on the phone to his father.
Richard hadn't been in the office today but word of what had occurred, reached him quickly and he called immediately.
"Punching him wasn't exactly the best decision, son," Richard said through the phone.
Sebastian sighed, knowing that his dad was right and it wasn't the wisest choice but that didn't mean he wouldn't do it again.
"He was a dick, Dad." He stated.
"I know, I heard," Richard cut off his words. "And although punching him wasn't entirely wise, I'm proud that you did," he told Sebastian who then chuckled at his dad's words.
A gentle knock on the door distracted Sebastian from the phone for a second. Before he could tell whoever it was to enter, Mia stepped through, a small smile on her face and a box in hand.
She stepped into the office quietly and closed the door behind her.
Sebastian kept his eyes on her, as she walked towards his desk and stood by the chair patiently, as he carried on with the phone call.
"Did I mess up?" He asked his father.
Sebastian knew that he was representing the company at all times, especially since he was the CEO's son. Therefore, punching a client wasn't exactly the most appropriate behaviour - even if it was completely called for.
Mia's face fell at his question too. She knew it wasn't her fault, it was all on Paul Stein, but she still felt bad about it all.
"I'll sort it out. Don't worry, kid. You did a noble thing," Richard praised.
He was so proud that his son wasn't afraid to stand up for someone, even if this had cost them a deal and lost them money. Richard would still be proud of his son, had he done the same thing again.
"Thanks, Dad," Sebastian smiled.
"How is she?" Richard then asked.
In that moment, Sebastian turned his head to look towards Mia, who now stood by the glass wall, overlooking the city.
"I'm not sure," he then replied honestly.
He really had no clue as to what she would be feeling right now, or what be going through her mind. Whilst Mia didn't exactly look broken up about it, what happened must have disturbed her enough.

"Just look out for her, son. Or send her home for the day if she needs it," Richard told him, as he didn't want Mia to be in any discomfort.
"I will. I've got to go now," Sebastian said, his eyes still on Mia.
"Alright then. I'll talk to you later," Richard replied and ended the call after.
Mia turned around at this point and gave Sebastian a small smile, as she he put his phone down on the desk and kept his gaze firmly on Mia.
A silence surrounded them, however this time, it was more a comfortable kind. No tension or awkwardness between them, just a look.
However, Sebastian wasn't satisfied with just a look. He needed her to speak. He needed to know if she was okay.
"Hi," he then said.
He was trying to think of something more profound or articulate to say in the moment, but all he could seem to get out, was this simple two-letter word.
"Hi," Mia replied.
She was at a bit of loss for words at moment too.
The two of them held the look once again, until Sebastian cleared his throat and looked towards Mia's hand, where he saw the small box she was holding.
"What's that?" He asked, nodding towards her hands.
She smiled and held it up slightly. "It's a medical kit for your knuckles," she said, looking towards his injured hand.
"That's not necessary," Sebastian brushed her off.
In reality, he had completely forgotten about his hand and the pain. He didn't want her to have to worry about it, not with she had just gone through.
Only, Mia didn't let it go.
"Please?" she asked him.
The soft expression that was on her face, was one that he just couldn't seem to refuse, especially when she held out her hand towards him.
He wordlessly placed his hand in hers, as Mia then led him towards the sofa in the office, where she gestured for him to take a seat, before she sat next to him.
Sebastian watched on, whilst Mia carefully took his injured hand in hers and began to cleaned then wound, using the contents in the box.
He couldn't help but stare at her, as she looked so concentrated at the task at hand. A few stray hairs of hers, were falling in front of her face and he had to resist the urge to move them.
Mia kept her eyes on Sebastian's hand, a frown on her face as she looked at the reddened skin of his knuckled which looked so red.
"Thank you," she then said, as she used a cotton wool ball to clean the area, not looking up at him as she said the words.
"You don't have to thank me for that," Sebastian said, his brows furrowing together. "He was out of line for even thinking of doing that to you," he added.
Just remembering what Paul was trying to do made his blood boil once again.
Mia then peered at him, her glasses falling down her nose slightly. "Not just for saving me, but for believing me as well," she said.
During that moment in the office, her mind had travelled back to that prom night and she couldn't help but wonder, if only Sebastian just had believed her then.

Sebastian noticed the sad and forlorn expression on Mia's face, one that caused something his chest to lurch.
"What are-" he was about to question her, only for Mia to snap back to reality at the sound the sound of his voice.
"I'm sorry you hurt your hand because of me," she then apologised and focused back towards his knuckled, which now looked a bit less of an angry red.
Despite her attempt to change the subject, Sebastian noticed it. Even the way that she quickly tried to mask her expression and looked away from him.
However, he decided not to push her on it. She'd already been through a lot today, he didn't want to upset her further.
"It's fine," Sebastian replied. "Plus now I seem more badass to the other employees," he joked.
Mia couldn't help but let out a little chuckle as well.
The pair then fell back into a comfortable silence, as Mia began to wrap Sebastian hand in a bandage ever so carefully.
A look of concern than came over Sebastian, and while he pursed his lips.
"Are you okay?" He then asked her.
He held off from asking the question before, since he knew from experience with his little sister, that asking that question seemed to just bring on another wave of emotions.
Mia gave him a smile, one that didn't quite reach her eyes he noticed.
"A little shaken, but okay," she admitted.
This wasn't like high-school, where she would burst into tears, run away and cry into her pillow. She was stronger now and had the ability to move past it. What happened wasn't just nothing, it was bad, however Mia was just thankful things didn't get too far.
"I was really going to kick him where the sun doesn't shine, if you hadn't walked in," Mia then tried to joke, once she noticed the way Sebastian was looking at her.
He could tell that she was just trying to ease the tension but he went along with it nonetheless.
"I should've held out a little longer then," he smiled, only for the weary expression to come onto his face once again. "You sure, you're okay?" He asked once again.
"I'm fine," Mia stated. "Thank you, Sebastian."
She gave him a genuine smile and he couldn't help but do the same. He liked it when she said his name.
Mia finally finished wrapping his hand in the bandage and securing the end of it, before closing her little medical kit.
Sebastian then inspected her work and smiled at his hand, before looked towards Mia, and nodded at her, as if to say good job.
"Can I ask you something?" Mia questioned.
"Sure," he responded, though unsure of what she was going to ask.
"What was up with your mood this morning?" She asked.
Sebastian was then reminded of his childish behaviour towards her in the morning and realised how much of a dick he was before.
The sad part was if it wasn't for this incident, he may have carried on to act like that.
"I just had a...rough morning," he said nervously.
"Oh, okay," Mia then nodded.
She decided not to question him about it, assuming that it was probably something business-related, that caused that mood of his.
Mia was about to stand up, only for Sebastian to stop her.
"Mia?" he said and she settled back down.
"Yeah?" She now responded unsurely.
Since she had reminded him about his foul mood in the morning, he didn't want to continue to be off with her, so the next best thing was to just ask her what he wanted to do all day.
"Did you really have a great time at dinner with Mason?"
His question had left her confused, since it wasn't want that she thought he'd asked her. She didn't think that he would even care about her didn't, let alone remember that she went.
"Um, yes," Mia then responded.
Sebastian's jaw clenched in annoyance and he looked away from her.
"Thanks to that dinner, he managed to ask me for Chloe's number," Mia laughed as she remembered Mason's nervousness and Nicole's pestering.
Her words instantly caused Sebastian's head to snap towards her.
"Chloe?" He asked in confusion.
Mia just looked at him innocently. "Chloe is one of my flatmates, along with Nicole. They both came to take me to lunch once, and that's when Mason met Chloe. He clearly became smitten with her. So had dinner last night, he asked me if she'd be interested him," she said with a smile.
Sebastian sat there wide-eyed as he listened to her relay the events of the evening.
"He likes Chloe," he said in disbelief.
"Yeah," Mia smiled.
"He asked you dinner, to ask for Chloe's number," Sebastian reiterated.
Mia's smile turned into a bemused expression.
She knew Sebastian wasn't that slow and what she said wasn't even confusing, so she didn't understand why he was having a reaction like this.
"Yes," Mia nodded once more.
"Mason likes Chloe," Sebastian repeated.
Mia had the urge to check him for a fever. "Are you okay?" She questioned him.
In that moment, Sebastian felt like complete idiot.
The whole time he was acting like a right arse, assuming that Mason was interested in Mia and trying to think of ways he could fire then man, when the whole time, he liked her flatmate.
He had been endlessly punching bags in the gym and even subjected himself to ridicule, by telling his mates about the dinner, and yet there was nothing romantic about it.
Mason didn't like Mia, he liked Chloe. Her flatmate.
Mia didn't like Mason, because he like Chloe. Her flatmate.
Repeating those words, were like the more greatest lyrics of a beautiful song, to Sebastian. He just kept chanting them within his mind over and over again.
"Are you okay?" Mia asked him again.
"Perfect," he then grinned at her.
Mia was taken aback by his grin, but nodded anyway. "Okay then," she said the words slowly and gave him a weird look.
Sebastian felt an odd sense of happiness knowing the Mia wasn't being pursued by Mason, but he couldn't help but think, how long would it be till someone else pursued her? And what would happen if she felt the same way? And in all of that, what would he do?
