My first encouter with a LGBT person was at an open house for my school. At the time I wasn't very happy to be there. I just wanted to go home. He talked to me about the school and convinced me I would be okay. He was so kind and loveable. I thought he was just flat out cool. As school started I learned about our schools GSA but it was more than just a GSA it was a place where any religion, gender, sexuality, race or culture is accepted and welcome. I was hesitant to go at first but halfway through the year I started going as a straight christian ally. I know this was the best choice I ever made because I have met so many wonderful people and been shown how many definitions there can be to a person. So I encourage you to be an ally if nothing else.

People can and will suprise you but only if try new things. If open up your mind to new ideas you learn to accept and love other people as they are. I also learned quite alot about who I am as a person and I am extremely confident that anyone that does the same will learn something. I hope my story helps you.
