《Brother of Wind {book 3: Rebooted}》chapter 9

Day time in New Ninjago city. The streets were still abandoned and the ninja all gathered in Cyrus Borg's office. In the office lay four chairs in the center. Pixal walked up to her creator and plugged a cord into her new power source given to her by the original nindroid, Zane. A blue light beeped as Pixal plugged in.
"think we should put the main switch over here to keep it tucked away a little." Borg placed a red button and placed it near the windowsill.
"With a little ingenuity and a few more coaxial cables, we may be able to reboot the system with the Techno Blades and erase the Digital Overlord for good." Borg said as he tinkerd with some wires.
"I thought you said we needed the stolen hard drive to do that." Jay said.
"I did. But that was before I truly understood the entire capabilities of what Zane's powers truly allow us." Borg signaled to Zane.
"And what is that?" Kai asked.
"A chance to enter remotely." Borg replied.
"By the time we figure out where Lloyd is, it'll be too late to stop the Overlord from draining his Golden Power."
"I should just run out there and find him! I won't take me long!" Morro said from the corner of the room.
"You have no idea where he could be." Cole said.
"This is our best chance right now." Zane said. Morro sighed as he looked to the ground.
"We could stop the Overload from escaping the digiverse?" Nya asked.
"Exactly. But if we digitize the Ninja and Techno Blades using my experimental technology, you could fight him on his own turf inside the Digiverse." Borg exclaimed.
Kai flinched at the word "experimental" after all, he disliked technology.
"What do you mean inside the Digiverse?" Jay asked.
"Ugh, weren't you listening? He's going to put us into the video game." Cole said annoyed.
"I know, heh, I just wanted to hear it again!" Jay excitedly said.
"But Mr. Borg." Pixal started.
"If anything were to happen to them inside the program--"
"Of course. Every step into the unknown has its dangers." Borg said.
"What dangers? What is she talking about?" Kai stepped forwards and asked.
"You know how in video games you get multiple lives?" Borg asked.
"Yeah." Jay jumped onto one of the chairs laid out and sat on it incorrectly.
"Woah!" Jay said looking at the large screen on the wall.
"It's not like that." Borg said.
"Oh." A bright flash of light shined and Jay fell backwards.
"Presto! We're up and running!" Brog exclaimed as the screen started to display an image.
The sound of clanging metal echoed. Everyone faced the elevator and the doors opened. It was the postman and the other civilians.
"Aha! You see? Borg is holding out on us. He does have power." The postman walked forwards, leading the rest of the people with their makeshift weapons. They stopped from walking further due to Morro shooting a gust of wind right infront of their path.
"If you're trying time attack us, don't try it." Morro sounded pissed. Oh no.

"Oh, this is no time for more post-apocalyptic role playing, Postman." Borg rolled forwards on his wheelchair.
"This isn't a game anymore. We heard about the Nindroid activity. What if they come back? We need power to defend ourselves. And I wanna catch up on my shows." The postman exclaimed.
"This isn't about your stupid shows!" Morro yelled at them.
"Calm down." Nya placed a hand on Morro's shoulder and the wind ninja walked back to the others.
"Would you like to play a game?" The computer spoke.
"They are playing a game. Take back the power!" The postman yelled and advanced.
"No, stop!" Cole shouted.
"We're trying to help you!" Kai explained.
Everything went quiet for a second. Then, all of the screens lit up with golden power that surrounded the place.
"Where's all the power coming from?" Nya asked.
"Golden power." Borg said.
"It's already begun."
"Lloyd." Morro looked at the lights around him.
"The Overlord has started the transference." Borg said.
Lloyd pressed his hands against the thick glass. He was trapped in a container that was hooked up to a ton of wires. His golden power was being sucked out of him and being transfered to the Overlord. Lloyd was growing weaker by the second as the Overlord started to become physical with every ounce of power.
"Soon you will be utterly powerless. And I will escape this digital prison and become whole, and nothing will stop me from becoming the Golden Master!" The Overlord exclaimed.
75℅
All around New Ninjago city, golden power scattered in the streets, making the machines move again.
"Quick, Pixal, we must isolate our server. If he finds out our plan to use the Techno Weapons remotely, the Ninja won't stand a chance." Borg told his assistant.
"Isolating server. Sir, we have an abnormal mass of power signatures." Pixal announce her findings.
"Aah! They're already here. Initiate lockdown!" Borg exclaimed.
The voice command set up barricades all around Borg tower.
Pythor, techno Wu, and Cryptor were in pursuit of the ninja with the nindroid army behind them.
"The Techno Blades are on the top floor. What are you waiting for? Get rid of that door." Pythor commanded.
"Be seated, Ninja. There isn't much time." Borg said to the four with techno blades. Cole, Kai, Jay and Zane took their seats.
"Do something useful and make sure those Nindroids don't get up here" nya told the citizens.
"If you ever wanna see your favorite shows again, you better get downstairs, now!"
The people all screamed and took the elrcator down.
"Once we're inside, what do we do?" Zane asked being seated.
"Put simply, reboot the system. All source code travels through the heart of the mainframe. Follow it and you'll find a glowing activation port. The Techno Blades are the keys to activate the reboot and erase all corruption from the system." Borg explained.
"Uh, can you put it more simply?" Kai asked.
"Look for a big bright light, Airhead, then put your weapon in it." Cole simplified it.
"Okay, got it. I can do that." Kai said.

"Hey! I'm not an airhead!"
"Remember, I wrote the code, but he controls it. His turf, his rules. I'll do my best to keep you hidden from here, but the longer you go unnoticed, the better chance you have to succeed." Borg informed.
"Be careful in there." Pixal said.
"I will come back to you." Zane smiled. Pixal prepped the ninja's chairs.
"How do we know this is really gonna work and won't disintegrate us instantly?" Kai asked.
"Hm. I'm not sure. Let's see." Borg pressed the big obvious red button.
Kai looked around. It seemed like the world was pulling into to one spot. Kai hated it. So much.
"I HATE TECHNOLOGYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!" Kai screamed. Then it all went away. The ninja opened their eyes. They were in the same room.
"Argh, see? I told you it wouldn't work." Kai scoffed.
"I think it did. Look." Cole pointed at the wall.
When you look at it up close, you could see little bits of code running down it. Zane looked at his arm. It was tattered in code.
"This is most definitely the Digiverse." Zane gasped.
"And this is most definitely awesome!" Jay exclaimed.
"Oh, it's like a dream." Cole walked towards the window. Jay ran over and punched Cole in the arm.
"Ow! What was that for?" Cole whined.
"Just testing the rules. First rule: Cole's a crybaby." Jay snickered.
"We know we can still get hurt in the Digiverse. Let's stay on task. We have the keys." Zane pointed out the techno blades on the ninja's back.
"Now let's find that activation port."
-the real world-
The nindroid army had cut an entrance through the barricade and started to enter Borg tower.
"Our favorite shows will continue!" The postman and the other citizens ran at the nindroid army. These guys are desperate for WiFi.
-over the endless sea-
Lloyd started to feel like he was passing out. His head was propping low but Lloyd tried to keep strong. The power was still being sucked out of him.
"He who holds the power has a tremendous obligation. You must be prepared to handle this journey alone. Even without me one day."
The words of his father echoed in Lloyd's mind. He had to keep strong.
"You are all alone, Golden Ninja. Nothing can save you now." The Overlord taunted. His new body became more visible.
Lloyd was angered, sad, overwhelmed. He was most of all determined to resist.
83%
"Vitals are strong." Pixal said as she analyzed the ninja's screens in front of their uncauntious bodies.
"So far, so good. He hasn't detected them yet." Borg took a breath.
-the digiverse-
The ninja step onto a balcony that was at the edge of the digital Borg tower. This digiverse was amazing. It was the whole city, digitalized! It was incredible. Cole running along the surface of every wall and floor and ceiling. Everying was coating from dark blue to teal.
"Borg was right. The source code appears to be moving toward the same location." Zane examined the running numbers below his feet.
"Then let's follow it." Kai said.
"Easier said than done." Cole intervened.
"Aren't you forgetting, we're in a video game, whoo-hoo!" Jay, without hesitation jumped off the the ledge and flipped down to a little platform at the the bottom of the tower. Somehow, he remained unharmed.
"Haha, second rule: video games rule!" Jay exclaimed.
"How did you do that?" Kai yelled.
"Just imagine it!" Jay yelled back.
Cole and Zane looked at each other. They shrugged then jumped off. They safely made it to where Jay was. Kai was in disbelief.
"Just imagine." Kai closed his eyes. His head inflated.
"Huh? What's happening?" Kai shouted in distress.
"You gotta clear your mind." Jay shouted.
"Uh, huh, you were the one who called me an airhead!" Kai shouted back.
"Uh, no, it was me actually." Cole said.
"Stop being so self-conscious and jump!" Jay said.
"Aah!" Kai started to fall.
Because of his "airhead", Kai floated down to where the others were.
'See? He is such an airhead." Jay said.
Kai's head returned to normal. Horray.
"They're doing it. They're mastering the digital world!" Borg exclaimed as he quickly typed on his keyboard.
"I must buy them more time--" Borg got knocked over and fell.
"Argh! My legs! They're back!" He exclaimed. What a weird sentence to say.
"It must have slipped past the defences!" Morro concluded.
Nya ran to restrain the artificial limbs.
"Stay with them! If the Overlord finds them in the system, it's all over!" Nya exclaimed. Pixal ran to the large computer.
"He's already found them."
-the digiverse-
"Everything is flowing to the bottom of the building." Cole said examining the moving code.
"The ashes of the Overlord." Kai remarked.
"You mean when Lloyd defeated him in the Ultimate Battle?" Jay asked.
"It must be where the corruption all started." Zane inferred.
"We're close. Let's go." Kai said.
The red ninja took a step but, after that he couldn't move. The other ninja weren't able to move their feet either. They started to get pulled down.
"Argh! Who's imagining this? I can't move my feet!" Jay yelled.
"Not me." Cole said.
"Me neither!" Zane exclaimed.
"Well, don't look at me!" Kai shouted.
"You think you can come into my world and get rid of me?"
The ninja looked up and saw the eyes of the Overlord staring right at them as the ninja sunk down.
Zane spotted a crane. He tried to reach it.
"I can't get it. I can't reach it!" Zane exclaimed.
"Uh, I have a sinking feeling this is it, guys." Jay said.
-Borg tower-
Pixal revised all the stats of the ninja in their chairs.
"The Ninja, they're being consumed by the corrupted program." Pixal analysed.
"We're all a bit consumed!" Nya yelled.
"Ah, why is this thing so annoying?" Morro said pushing Borg's handicap vehicle back.
"We couldn't stop them. They're coming up! This time, the Postman does not deliver!" The postman said from the screen. From the looks of it, everyone was in danger, no matter what.

If I get enough support, I’ll hire an EDITOR that will look at the chaps with a fresh eye. And POOF! Issues no more. Improved quality. Happier author and reader. Not sure if the editor will be happy tho.— The first three chapters are fast-paced as to quickly get into the nitty-gritty but slow down afterward to give the story the time it needs to progress accordingly.— The book can, never mind, it will contain «strong» language, gore and violence.— Comedy, as you know it (and if you don’t, now you know) is subjective. So you might not like the jokes.— If you truly read that until the end you have my virtual congratulations ‘cause I sure as hell wouldn’t have done that.
