《Brother of Wind {book 3: Rebooted}》chapter 8

After being lead inside the tomb where the serpentine were held, Skales lead the ninja to where they needed to be.
The cave was like a little garden, a few ponds with bridges made of stones, the ground was covered with grass, and the stalactites on the top were glittered with little crystals.
"After a rather humbling scrap with those indestructible Stone Warriors, we've made amends with our warring past and found ways to help better ourselves." Skales explained.
The ninja looked everywhere to find the serpentine resulting with peaceful solutions to problems.
"So you got a few snakes to go straight. Doesn't mean there's not one bad apple. Fangpyre have white scales, don't they?" Kai asked.
"A few. Is this about the missing hard drive?" Skales asked.
"This is about the Overlord." Cole said.
"Ah, the Overlord. Glad we weren't around for that mess. No, we have no desire to meddle in the affairs above. As you can see, we stick to our own. We only want what's best for the next generation." Skales said.
"I'm sorry for wanting to rush, but I would like to hear this legend of yours." Morro stepped forwards.
"Have a seat. You could learn a thing or two about your beloved Golden Master." Skales directed the ninja to an area with runes and carving on stones surrounding a small fire.
The ninja all sat down and Morro sat on his knees. Little habit I guess.
"Hello, hatchlings, and camouflaged land dwellers. Do you seek to learn about the Curse of the Golden Master?" Acidius, the venomari leader slithered up to the ninja.
"Ooh! Tell meee! Tell meeeee!" Jay raised his hand.
"Everyone come closer." Acidius shot some of his venom into the fire and the flame grew and created a picture.
"When the First Spinjitzu Master created Ninjago, deep in the ground, he created the Serpentine
The picture showed a figure with a golden sword making another, more serpent-like figure rise from the ground.
Since the first dawn, our elders knew of the Curse of the Golden Master, when he who had the powers equal to the First Spinjitzu Master would rise and usher in the last of the setting suns. With no equal adversary, his power will go unmatched.
A large shadow wearing a golden armour rose from the flames. It seemed like the fire got more red by the second the golden master was in the flame. The serpentine shadows fled the area.
His destructive rule will change the face of the world, and he will not stop until every man, woman, and Serpentine are enslaved under his control.
"Is he referring to Lloyd?" Zane asked.
Kai shrugged.
The flames turned a teal colour.
The Serpentine tried to warn the land dwellers, but they wouldn't listen. They thought we were the enemy, though we were only trying to prevent the prophecy of the Golden Master's terrible reign.
The serpentine shadows in the fire went up to different figures that looked like people. The people became agressive and the fire turned green and yellow.
After the Great Devourer failed to scare the unbelievers below ground, it is we who retreated beneath the soil, promising to never return, even now that the end is inevitable.
The flame returned to it's original colour and back to the little fire it was.
-Borg tower-
"First patch into the mainframe... success!" Cyrus Borg hooked up some wires to his assistant Pixal and her new power source.
"Suppress bandwidth for wider connection...we have power! By glory's grace, my office has clean, untouched-by-evil power! Thank you. Now we can use this to track the Nindroid presence, and they won't see us coming." Borg said as the screen in his office light up.

"Sir, you created me and gave me life. I belong to you. Yet, Zane saved my life. When I was with him I felt...a connection. I felt...free." Pixal hesitated to say.
"Pixal, remember this: you belong to no one. If you want to be with Zane, then you should be with him." Borg smiled at his assistant.
Borg then turned to his screen by hearing a loud beeping noise.
"What? Nindroid power signatures. This is impossible. It says they're right here. 12 feet, 8 feet, this makes no sense." He observed the blinking lights on the radar.
"Unless they're beneath us." Pixal said.
-underground-
"I can't believe they think Lloyd could become the Golden Master." Kai said.
"Well, he is the son of Lord Garmadon." Jay said leaning on a light post.
"I don't think that. That they think Lloyd's the golden master." Morro said biting on his thumb.
"How so?" Cole asked.
"He never said that they thought it was Lloyd." Morro responded.
"What I want to know is, if none of them took the hard drive, who else could it be?" Nya said.
"We're under attack! Protect the young!" A serpentine shouted.
The ninja turned to the entrance in distress.
"Nindroids!" Cole exclaimed. The robot fighters ran in the tomb and started to destroy the place. The serpentine ran everywhere, picking up the little ones and hiding.
"Ugh! These toasters never know when to quit." Jay yelled.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but... protect the Serpentine!" Kai shouted.
The ninja except for Zane ran into battle.
"If only I could use Spinjitzu. Without Pixal, my technique is barely adequate!" Zane cried.
"You can still fight can't you?" Morro asked. Zane looked at his hand.
"Do what you can, as long as it makes a difference, Zane!" Morro called.
Zane made a fist. He turned to see Skales slithering up to him.
"What evil have you brought here?!" The serpentine yelled furiously.
"Sorry about that! We didn't know we were being followed!" Zane apologized.
A nindroid drew his sword on Nya. The samurai pulled out her metal fan. She used it to dodge attacks, and hit away the sword. Nya then knocked back the nindroid.
"Junior? Junior!" Selema called to her son. Skales Jr. was running to find his mom.
"Mommy! Aah!!" Junior yelled as Cryptor tripped.
"So you're the future of the fearless Serpentine?" Cryptor laughed.
Kai jumped in and kicked Cryptor.
"And you're about to be history!" Kai yelled. Morro pulled out his staff and hit Cryptor back with his wind.
"Kid, I need you to get to your mom now!" Morro told Skales Jr. The youngling nodded and scurried away to his family.
"Let's get him guys!" Cole said. Cole and Kai grabbed Cryptor by his arms and pinned him down when Jay and Zane ran in. However, Cryptor knocked all four ninja off of him.
He grabbed Cole by the feet and threw him onto the other three. Morro ran in to attack. Cryptor went for a high kick but Morro ducked and Nya stood up and pushed Cryptor forwards from behind. The wind ninja then slashed his staff backwards and knocked Cryptor away.
Morro stood up and lost his balance a little. Nya pushed him back to stand up fully.
"Thanks. Sorry." Morro said.
"Don't mention it. Really." Nya smirked. Morro groaned and parted ways.
"Ugh. If we could figure out what powered them, this would all be a whole lot easier." Jay said. The ninja took their stances. There so many nindroids, the ninja went and split up.

Kai spun around and kicked a few back. Jay jumped up and saved Nya who was being cornered.
"Haha!" Jay did butterfly eyes as Nya.
Cole ran up the wall and flipped over a nindroid. While flipping, he spotted a tube connecting to a little tank on the nindroid's back. Cole unplugged the tube and the nindroid fell down, lifeless.
"Hey! They're powered by some sort of eel thing inside their backs!" Cole announced. Jay pulled out a plug from a nearby nindroid. It worked. Everyone tried it. The nindroids around then fell down. This was their advantaged.
"Ninja-go!!" The ninja eached used their spinjitzu (except for Zane) and unplugged all the nindroids. One was about to attack Jay when Nya unplugged it just in time. Jay knocked one over, and they all fell like dominoes.
Zane started to walk towards the group when one nindroid grabbed ahold if his foot.
"Huh?" Zane turned around. The nindroid's eye was glowing purple and not the usual red.
"Foolish Nindroid, you are helping the wrong side." The nindroid spoke in the Overlord's voice.
"The Overlord! You'll never succeed. Not if we have anything to say about it." Zane said.
"I already have." The Oveelord laughed.
"You've unknowingly led me straight to the Golden Ninja. And this was merely a diversion to keep you busy."
Zane's eyes widdend. Morro walked up to the Overlord-possessed nindroid. Without saying a word, he just kicked it and it unplugged.
"The boy holds too much power. I fear the Curse of the Golden Master is upon us." Skales said.
"The dawn of the end of times is near." Acidius said.
"Holds too much power?" Morro repeated.
"Oh no. No, no, no! I'm such an idiot!" Morro yelled and paced around.
"What?" The ninja asked.
"One, I left sensei all alone, two I lead then here." Morro started.
"And Lloyd is--"
"Slow down! Lloyd is what?" Jay asked.
"He's in danger." Morro answered.
The ninja shared worried looks.
"What are you saying?" Kai asked.
"He's after Lloyd's power." Morro said. That was enough.
"We have to get back as soon as we can!" Zane said.
"We have to get to Lloyd before they do. Are you sure you won't help us?" Nya asked the serpentine.
"I'm sorry. We made an oath never to return to the surface. Good luck. Oh, one more thing. There's only one Serpentine whose had a history of being so fond of using Electrocobrai." Skales said.
"Who?"
-Hiroshi's labyrinth.-
Garmadon and Lloyd walked deep into the greens of the forest. The reached a little clearing. But was like a mini oasis. A waterfall fell down into a little patch of water at the ground, tall trees surrounding the area.
"The jewel of the Labyrinth. It's..." Garmadon started.
"The most beautiful thing I've ever seen." Lloyd finished in awe.
"Yes. Beauty can be born even in darkness." Garmadon said.
This wonderful moment was cut short by the sound of trees getting cut down. Something big was coming.
"They've found you. You must leave! Go!" Garmadon told his son. Lloyd didn't move. He wanted to stay his his father.
"I said leave!" Garmadon shouted.
Lloyd turned in the other direction and ran. Garmadon saw his opponent. It was Wu. The two clashed staffs.
"Why must we always be on opposite sides, brother? I made an oath not to fight, but I'll still defeat you." Garmadon said pushing forwards.
They separated and Wu did the attacking. Garmadon relied heavily on defence and avoiding.
Lloyd climbed up beside the water fall and pulled himself up to the top. When he got there, the nindroids were in pursuit.
Lloyd smirked. He changed up his power. Garmadon looked up.
"No! Trust in the balance!"
Lloyd was ignorant. He did what he did and summoned a flipping cool as heck bike. It was green with golden accents. Lloyd drove off the cliff and spread through the jungle. He traveled fast, but there were nindroids with flight capability on his tail.
The ninja swirved around the trees, trying to lose the nindroids following him. He got one to crash into a tree, but the other kept on following him. Lloyd was making his way through the jungle constantly turning and finally got the other nindroid to crash.
Lloyd looked back ahead to find even more nindroids flying at him! Seriously, these guys were everywhere!
This time, they started to shoot lasers. Lloyd stepped on the gas. It turns out once in a while, he did listen to his father. Lloyd got the nindroids to crash into each other by moving out of the way.
Another surprise up ahead. A cliff. Lloyd reached the end of the jungle and came to a stop just before a ledge that fell down into the water.
Remember that dragon thing? It's back. It flew up and revealed itself to Lloyd. On the dragon, techno Wu held Garmadon captive with his staff around his neck, keeping Lloyd's dad in a headlock.
"Dad!" Lloyd cried.
"Go, Lloyd. And never look back!" Garmadon pleaded. Lloyd frowned.
"Leave, and your father falls." The Overlord's voice came through the dragon. Wu held Garmadon near the ledge, holding onto just his kimono.
Lloyd got angry. He charged up his power when something wrapped around and restrained him. The thing that wrapped around Lloyd hissed like a snake.
"My power's gone!" Lloyd did trying to break free. The stranger clocked in white came up to Lloyd and took his hood off. Lloyd's jaw dropped and his eyes were filled with fear.
"Hello, old chum."
"Pythor?!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"I thought you were--"
"Hmm, gone? Actually, I suffered a worse fate." The anacondrai had a new look, white scales with purple patterns. What remained the same, was the gem on his forehead. His voice sounded raspy and wrecked.
"Digested in the bowels of the Devourer. It can wreak havoc on one's complexion. Fortunately for Wu, he escaped unscathed." Pythor said.
"Finally, the Golden Ninja is mine. Now the transformation can be complete." The Overlord said triumphant.
"I couldn't leave you. I can't do this alone. I failed you, Father." Llpyd said looking down.
"It's okay, son. It is I who failed--" Garmadon got interpreted.
"He is no longer of importance to me. Throw him overboard." The Overlord said.
Techno Wu shoved Garmadon into the sea. Lloyd cried out.
"No! Father!"
Lloyd was taken on the dragon and it flew away.
Soon enough, Garmadon resurfaced from the water.
"Be strong, son. I will find you. I will find you!"
