"When is your next game?" I asked as Riley and I walked out of the school once my tutoring sessions had ended and he made a thinking face

"I think Coach said the next game was this Friday night, I won't be playing though since my mom still hasn't giving me the all clear yet," he replied and hummed

"You're still required to be there, though right?"I asked and he nodded

"Yeah, but I'll be on the bench the whole time so I might ask coach if i can just go sit on the bleachers and watch the game from there" he replied and I raised a brow and thanked him when he opened the passenger door for me and got in and watched as he walked around the car before climbing in as well. The weather was beginning to get cooler since were already in October. Halloween was approaching and I have a feeling that my mom will make me take Avery out trick or treating.

"What's with that face?" Riley asked as he pulled out of the empty parking lot

"Halloween is three days away" I grumbled and he looks over with a raised brow

"Is that why you have that long face?" He quizzed

"No, my mom is going to have me take Avery trick or treating around the neighborhood" I replied and he hummed

"If you want, we can go together, my aunt usually comes over with my cousins and I take them trick or treating" he suggested and I tilted my head to the side and looked at him as he made a turn into my street

"That could work, actually." I said and he nodded

"We can do your street first and then go to mine or vice versa" he said and I nodded

"Sounds like a plan."

"Mommy, mommy" my little sister Avery yelled as she ran into the room in her princess Elsa dress with her hair braided over her shoulder. she looked utterly adorable

"Yes baby?" Mom asked with a smile looking down at the three year old who beamed up at her her eyes bright. If you looked at her you'd never think there was anything wrong with her but she was sick and Halloween was her favorite holiday as she gets to dress up as whoever she wants.

"Look what Alex gots me" she said showing mom the pink and purple princess candy bag I got her after school today

"Oh my goodness, that's a very pretty bag, did you say thank you?" Mom asked with a smile and Avery bobbed her head up and down with a giant grin on her face making me smile

The sound of the bell ringing at the front alerted me that Riley had arrived.

"I'll get it" Ryder said as he was closer to the door since he was in the living room. I heard him greet Riley and his cousins before calling my name so I looked down at my baby sister and smiled

"Ready to go, Ave?" I asked and she nodded raising her arms to be picked up

"Watch out for her, Alex and make sure she doesn't overwork herself like last time," mom said as she put Avery's jacket on her and I nodded

"I will don't worry" I said kissing her cheek and she nodded before giving Avery a kiss on the forehead. We walked to the front hall to find Riley and his cousins talking to Ryder and Andrew

"Hey," he greeted when he saw me and I smiled walking over to him

"Hey yourself," I said back and he smiled leaning down to peck me on the lips making me grin

"Hi, Mrs. Gallagher," he greeted my mother who smiled waving him off

"Please call me, Aubrey," she said with a smile shaking his hand

"Okay, well it's nice meeting you, Aubrey" Riley said to her with a smile before turning to me,"You ready?"

"Yeah, let me just out my jacket on and we can head out" I replied putting Avery down making her pout before she went and talked to one of Riley's cousins who was a little bit older than her. He was wearing a Flash costume.

"Okay, lets go"

We walked down the sidewalk with the kids in front of us while Riley and I together watching them and additionally stopping at a house so the kids could go knock or ring the bell yelling 'trick or treat' at each house owner. The night flew by quickly and by the time Riley drove us back home after going trick or treating in his street, Avery and Riley's cousins were passed out in the back seat of the back.

"She had a good time tonight. She's never been anywhere outside of our neighborhood before so this was fun for her," I said looking over at my sleeping sister who sat between Elijah, who is nine years old and dressed as a police officer, and Benjamin,who is 5 years old and is her new friend.

"I'm glad she enjoyed herself. The boys did too, they don't have any sisters so having her and you tag along was different but nice" he said and I smiled lacing our fingers together

"Avery and Benji became friends right away," I commented and he hummed

"They did, just like we did. Can you believe we've known each other for four months already?" He asked and I nodded

"It's crazy how time goes by. Soon the year will be over and that means my brothers Casey and Matt will be graduating and Andrew will be a senior while I'll be a Junior," I said and he nodded

"I'll be graduating along with Andrew next year, and that's insane to think about to be honest" he said as he turned into my street. It was nearing midnight and it was a good thing that it was Saturday instead of a school night.

It's crazy to think that the year is almost over. Only two months to go an 2017 will be over.

"What's wrong?" I blinked and looked over at Riley who was looking at me with a raised brow

"Nothing just thinking," I replied and he nodded

"About what?"

"That they hear is almost over" and he nodded in understanding pulling into my driveway not long after that

"Two months to go and that's insane" he said and I couldn't agree more with him

"And then summer vacation will be upon us," I said and he chuckled

"That's very true"

We got to my house a few minutes later and he pulled up to my driveway and once he parked the car, I got out and went to the back to grab Avery while Riley got her car seat and candy bag for me. The door opened just as I was about to open it and my mom stood on the other side with a tired smile on her face

"How did she behave?" She asked

"Like an angel as always mami," I replied and she smiled taking her from me

"Good, it was nice meeting you Riley, you should come over sometime to have dinner with us. Bring your parents and sisters as well," my mom said before walking away once Riley agreed with a smile of his own.

"I had a good time tonight," I said leaning against eh doorframe and Riley grinned

"I did too, but it would have been better if it was just us two though," he said and I hummed

"I did too, did you see the faces of the people though when they saw us standing in the back waiting for the kids ti their candy?" I asked with a laugh and he chuckled

"It was hard to not miss it, it was hilarious,"

We had just finished getting the candy from two houses and the couple that lived in each looked at us with pity and shock seeing us with three kids while also being kids ourselves. They even asked to see if they can help us with finding them each a home which by the way angered me and Riley as well since he told them to fuck off and to mind their own business before calling the kids back two we could come home.

"But they were also fucking assholes. How could they even think of asking to put them up for adoption even if we were their parents," he added with a shake of his head and I couldn't agree more with him

"Anyway, I wanted to see if you want to go on a date with me this Friday night, after the game that is," he said and I bit my lip before nodding

"I'd like that," I said and he beamed before leaning down and kissing me on the lips and I sighed leaning closer to him my hands clutching his jacket

"Great, I'll see you Friday then?" He asked once we pulled away and I nodded with a grin that he returns before giving me one last kiss then turns around on his heels after wishing me a goodnight and went back to his car. I stood at the door watching him leave and waved at him when he got on the road and then entered the house, closing the door softly behind me with a stupid grin on my face.

Crazy how all of this happened just because Mitch was being his asshole self and tossed the football to high and too far for Riley to catch, that would have to be the best day of my life because I met the nicest, most incredible person in the world and it all was on accident.

So thanks Mitchel for the hit to the head all those months ago, you really helped me out, who would've thought. You of all people helping me get the man of my dreams.
