《[1] The Allure of Darkness》13

Dear Diary, I've spent too long just thinking, and not doing. I spent too long afraid of my power, my friends need me, Blaise needs me. It's time for me to step up to the plate, and give her the same energy she's always given me: loving, supportive, patient, ambition. Whenever I've felt down about myself, Blaise, and Elena have always been right there to pull me out of that sunken place. I didn't tell anyone about the dreams I've been having, and it's the same dream. Damon dying, and Caroline being the one driving the stake through his heart. I keep hoping that the more I ignore those dreams, the less likely they are to manifest...here's to wishful thinking.

Bonnie

I sat on my bed, legs crossed, eyes closed, and palms pressed together. Solange quietly playing in the background may have been a bit cliche, but it helps to get me in a peaceful state. Something about the song playing now keeps giving me an odd vibe, I'm not sure what it was, but it's making me feel...uncomfortable. Images of Damon's face started to flash across my mind, flickering too fast for me to be sure if it was even Damon that I was seeing. Then another face popped into her mind, all I could see was an instant of blonde hair.

"Fuck, that could be anyone." I inhaled deeply trying to slow my thoughts down, I needed to know who this other person was.

"Show me your face." I spoke to no one in particular, my eyes darting back and forth behind my eyelids. Finally the face zoomed out some, only enough for me to see their eyes, but their eyes too were tinge of blue. I grunt in frustration, that still doesn't narrow it down, blonde hair, and blue eyes is like half the globe's population.

"Show me your face." I breathed heavily, my teeth clenched at this point, this person who ever they are, they're trying to hide. They know they're being watched, or they're aware Blaise has a lot of loved ones with magical abilities. I inhaled one finally time, breathing in so deep I could feel a sharp pain shrike my lungs from filling them to capacity. I exhale as slow as possible, I refuse to give up when the information is right there. I push harder, then suddenly the whole person's face blinks into my vision.

I was standing in the middle of the forest, I didn't see anyone here, but I knew better. Footsteps approach from behind, Bonnie whips around in the direction of the possible attacker. No one was there, she was met with miles of trees, and forest.

"Hello Bonnie." The young witch froze in her tracks, she didn't want to turn around, that would make everything she's been seeing, and assuming become true.

"Go on, face me little witch, and solve the puzzle." His voice was deep, and taunting. Bonnie slowly turned to meet eyes with the devil himself, and when the Bennett witch's eyes rose to meet the Orginal the corners of his lips turned up slowly. The realization of her cousin's fate hitting her like a ton of bricks, she knew the outcome of the full moon ritual. Bonnie blinked once, and Caroline was next to Klaus, wrapped around his arm like a snake.

"You bastard, what did you do to her?" Bonnie stepped forward, this alternate world they were in, there is nothing she can actually do. None of this was real, but somehow it's happening.

"I didn't do anything, well she was already on the ledge, and all I did was simply push. Did you know Caroline is jealous of the bond you Blaise, and Elena have? She feels like a...4th wheel, and I don't blame you, Caroline can be a bit of a control freak." Klaus explains, Bonnie looks to her friend, and she seems to be in a daze of sorts. Even if that were true about Caroline, she would never willingly give into Klaus.

"Anyway, this isn't a call and response dialogue, I am going to talk, and you will listen." Klaus said, he paused for a moment thinking, how much should he tell Bonnie, and how much should he keep to himself. It was easy for Kol to get into the Bennett witch's head, but once she realized what was happening she clamped down. Now Kol is struggling to get out of her head, she's become a lot stronger than when he first met her. Klaus assumes that is Blaise's influence, he rolled his eyes at the thought of Maylen's only child. For every head he cut from their family, two more grew in its place, and that was aggravating. If he was being honest their bond made him jealous, Klaus had to fight for his family's love, and respect.

"I assume you've figured out what may happen to Damon, but that is a microscopic problem compared to everything else. While I don't know what exactly you and your cockroach of a family has planned for me, I know it's something. Trust when I say, I already have my pons in play, so don't do anything irrational. You've spent some personal time with me Bonnie, so you know how explosive my temper can be. I admit I've been more than patient with Blaise and her...attitude, maybe I should have left her parents alive so they could have taught her to respect her elders better." Klaus chuckled at his own joke, he could feel Kol pulling at his arm from the real world.

"This is the only warning, if that ritual doesn't go down smoothly, I promise you...heads will roll." Klaus threatens the young woman, Bonnie could hear her music playing throughout the forest. She assumed Klaus could hear it too the way he was smirking, but they were hearing two different things. Suddenly Klaus and Bonnie were both being snatched away from the dream realm and back into real life.

I gasped for air when I finally came back, the satin pillowcase underneath my cheeks. The first thing I did was pick up her phone, there were 3 missed calls from Jeremy, but I ignored them. At the moment he wasn't important, and honestly I was tired of looking at him. Instead I made a new group chat for Blaise, Elena, and myself.

~sos, girls night, and please bring snacks...and maybe booze.

I got up from my bed, turned my music off, and made my way to the closet. I pull out my hair bag, honestly if it wasn't for Blaise I wouldn't have half these things. I've been making a lot of life changes because of her...and Damon. He's contributed a lot as well, he's also the one that's talked me out of forcing myself to love Jeremy.

"Bonnie, he's a dick, and I would know because I used to be just like him. Complaining because the girl I want didn't want me back, and this is way before Elena. I'm talking Kathrine era, and ya know, it really wasn't her fault either. She layed out all the clues, it was Stefan who she really wanted, but I was too desperate. That's another thing I learned from Kathrine, a mature woman doesn't want to be in a relationship with a desperate boy. You, Bonnie Bennett, are a mature...young woman, and you don't need Jeremy, or me or anyone to prove that. You and your cousin can blow this whole damn town away with the flick of your pinky, at that point you make your own rules."

I was stunned, I never knew Damon was so thoughtful, and it's sad to admit, he wasn't like this with Elena. They seemed to be infatuated with each other, but they didn't love each other. That was the difference between Damon being with Elena, and him being with Blaise. Just then the phone buzzed, my lips stretched into a smile when I saw it's Elena, and Blaise texted back.

🙄😈

My eyebrows pulled up on my forehead in shock, Elena's brunette locks were like part of her trademark. In fact she wore to never change her hair in 6th grade, and now she wants to dye it?

I rolled my eyes, lord this child is going to make me take a nap, but I digress.

I just looked at the screen skeptically, at the time I couldn't quite possibly guess what the hell she was talking about. I throw on a comfortable outfit, I pack an overnight bag, and head down stairs. My dad is sitting on the couch in the living room watching tv, a glass of scotch in hand, and instantly I was thrown off. One, usually he was always at work, and two I've never seen him drink alcohol. If I say something about it now, I feel as though I'll never get a chance to leave the house. He turned to me for a second, he looked tired, but he didn't say anything. He just nodded his head acknowledging me, my dad, and I were a lot alike. Rarely did we actually talk about our lives, and when we did it just started an argument.

"I'll be spending the night at Blaise's with Elena. We wanna have a girls night before...tomorrow." I mumbled as I made way to the front door, keys in hand, I waited for him to say something. It wasn't till I turned to open the door that he spoke, and it seemed like he struggled to say the little bit that he did.

"No matter what happens tomorrow night, know that I love you Bonnie, and that I'm proud I've everything you've accomplished...everything you will accomplish." He said, his voice breaking towards the end, but he held himself together. I bit the inside of my cheek trying to keep composure as well, we both knew there are things we can't say, so we kept it to ourselves.

"Love you too dad...don't stay up too late, or you'll never sleep. See you tomorrow." I whispered, then I turned to leave, locking the door behind me. I throw my stuff into the back seat of my car, then I slide into the driver's seat and pull out the driveway.

By the time Bonnie got to the Salvatore home Elena was already there, they were sitting on the couch eating candy. Luna was on Elena's head, and pawing at her long dark strands.

"Why does it always seem like the two of you are always cheating on your boyfriends with each other?" I said throwing my stuff on the floor, Luna leaps from Elena's head to the floor, and over to me. I scoop the lump of fur into my hands, bringing Luna up to my nose. I inhale her scent, I burst out in laughter when her head slowly turns to me, a look of irritation etched across her feline features.

"What? You smell like cake, you look like cake...do you like cake?" I open my mouth up wide, I tilt my head back as if I'm about to take a chunk out of her, and when I tell you Luna was not having it. Her eyes damn near popped out of her skull, swiftly she jumped out of my hands. She had scurried off towards the steps where a pair of big pale hands long picked Luna up, and instantly my mood dropped.

"What is with you people scaring my baby?" Damon asked, Luna turned onto her back, her purring loud enough for me to hear on the other side of the room.

"Yea last night Stefan growled at her, he too pretended like he was going to eat her, and now Matt keeps jump-scaring her when he's over. Now Luna is down to three people she trusts, and you're looking at'em." Blaise explained, she got up from her spot next to Elena and walked into the kitchen. Damon followed behind her, sitting Luna on the counter, and when I turned to Elena she was already peaking at them. Her camera was open on her phone, she used her fingers to zoom in on them in the kitchen.

Damon had bumped Blaise with his hip, she turned to him with a light hearted warning on her face. They were talking in a hushed tone about something, Damon made Blaise smile with such ease. I'd never known her to have been so happy so frequently, well not until she met him. It's clear they were so into each other, the way Blaise would always find a way to work in a love tap, or squeez. Damon is always responsive to her touch, rather it's obnoxiously moaning, or kissing her in places other than her lips. It wasn't about sex, and lust for the two them. Blaise is so lucky to have something so amazing at such a young age.

Suddenly the dreams started to flicker in her mind, the sound of Blaise crying echoes in my mind.

"Bonnie, are you okay?" Elena was standing in front of me, Blaise, and Damon watching from the kitchen. I couldn't bring myself to look Blaise in the eyes, she'd know, my cousin was too smart for me to lie to her face.

"Uh, yea...I've been going hard on the meditation these past few days, I think I'm just a bit tapped out, so have anyway heard from Caroline. I forgot to add her to the group text, usually she hates to miss girls night." I lied, I knew exactly where, or rather, who she was with. It would be a bad idea to say it out loud though, there was already a riff between Blaise, and Caroline. Finding out that she basically is betraying us would be the icing on the cake.

"Eh, she's probably ditching us to be with Tyler, ever since he became a hybrid Caroline has been all over him. It's kind of gross, they're basically inhaling each other's faces to death, but honestly they're over doing it...literally." Elena said, rolling her eyes, my face pinched, that felt gross just hearing that.

"Yea Tyler Lockwood won't last long, Caroline is probably the most difficult person on the planet to please. She's such a girl boss, like ugh next thing we know she'll be getting a law degree." Damon complained casually as he placed Luna on his shoulder, a glass of wine in hand. We all stop and look at him, Blaise thumps him on the forehead, and Elena and I shake our heads going back to setting up the living room for our festivities.

"Damon this is a girls night, and as much as we know you love gossip, you don't qualify as a girl." Blaise says she comes into the living room with a charcuterie board. Laid out perfectly is an arrangement: 3 types of cheese, thinly sliced meats, small cuts of breads, crackers, fruits, honey, and hummus.

"Whatever, I'll just read it in your diary tomorrow, that's where all the juicy details are." Damon teased, he wiggled his dark eyebrows suggestively. Blaise turned to her undead boyfriend, a fiery glare in her eyes, but her threats didn't phase him. If anything I think he welcomed it, always pushing her buttons to see how far she would let him go.

"You do know you're a witch right?" Blaise questioned him, he smiled showing a row of perfect white teeth, and then he put Luna on his head. He's halfway up the stairs when he calls back down to Blaise, "And it's my favorite part about you. Good night ladies." Then he disappeared, Blaise rolled her eyes plopping down onto the couch.

"So you're dying your hair...why?" I asked, I picked up a saucer, I piled on a small amount of snacks, and poured myself a glass of wine. Elena sighed out loud, she was the crier of the group, even as a vampire, Elena was heavily attached to her emotions. Though she didn't have much of a choice because Elena without emotions is worse.

"I hate looking like the same bitch that's tortured me, my boyfriend, and my friends for so many years. Everyday I look in the mirror and I see Kathrine, it makes me want to unalive myself." The doppelgänger mumbled, bringing her knees up to her chest, and her face into her hands. Blaise had stopped chewing on the account of that last part, and she looked at me. I was just as surprised as she was, I mean we always knew Elena was bitter about it, but we didn't know it was that deep.

"Gosh, and I'm the dark one. Listen Elena, there is no way I could possibly understand how you feel, and I'm not going to try and make you feel better because I'm shitty at that. Would you like me to be brutally honest?" Blaise pulled Elena from her balled up form, and sure enough tears were running down her cheeks.

"Say no Elena." I warn her, Blaise was never harsh in her delivery, but when Blaise was honest, it was in its rawest form.

"No, I can take it." Elena sniffled, Blaise tilted her head backwards trying to get a better look at our friend.

"No she can't." I spoke up again, they both turned to look at me, Blaise rolled her eyes looking back at Elena.

"Anyway, Lena, don't change who you are because of some old ass bitch. Stefan fell in love because of your personality, and you have something Kathrine didn't. Katherine is selfish, and she has an ugly attitude. She may have been loving once upon a time, but that crow doesn't have anything going for her but some old circus tricks. Don't let her suck the life out of you, the way she did Stefan, and Damon. So if you want to dye your hair, let's do it, not because of Katherine, but because this is a new era...for all of us. The full moon tomorrow night isn't just for Klaus, it's for all of us, and the changes we're all going through." Blaise finished her speech by wiping the tears from Elena's eyes, and pulling her into a hug. I feel my own eyes start to well with tears, getting up from my seat I throw myself into their laps. All three of us bursting out into giggles, I turn over onto my back, resting my head on Elena's slender thigh.

"Blaise you never told us what you wanted done with your hair." I said, I lazily reach for a strawberry off the coffee table, Elena, and I watch as she stands up. She uses her human speed to jog over to the kitchen, picking up a medium sized black case, and bringing back over to the couch. I turn over on my stomach, my curiosity getting the best of me.

Blaise turned the case towards herself when he unzipped it, slowly she pulled the mystery item out of the case careful to not reveal it too soon. I held my breath, on edge as to what the hell Blaise had in that case. Suddenly she raises a shiny silver pair of hair clippers into the hair, slowly bringing it down infront of her eye. She licks her lips like a maniac, her lips pulled back into a wacked out grin, and Elena is of course amazed.

"Ohhh wow, now I get it, buzz buzz." Elena whispers, I try to hold back my laughter, her, and Blaise are basically the same kind of weirdo. They both jump up from the couch, marching around the living room, and pull out my phone to record them.

"Buzz. Buzz. Buzz." They chanted over and over again, Blaise passed the electric hair cutters to Elena, and Elena raised it high above her head.

"Hey! You two weirdos better not be startin a Séance in my house, the Bennett witches are the only ghost I can tolerate." Damon shouted from half way down the stairs, he looked at me, and I shrugged. I was the innocent one in this whole thing, suddenly Elena, and Blaise started singing their own rendition of some 70s song that sounded like Micheal Jackson. I was thoroughly impressed by this new found skill, so I decided not to stop them. Damon shook his head and grumpily went back upstairs, Luna following after. After a while, they both tired themselves out enough to actually start on their hair. After all the cutting, and hair coloring is done, the three of us drag ourselves upstairs to Blaise's room. We all pass out on her bed cuddled into each other, once I feel like they're all asleep I carefully pull myself from under Elena's long arms.
