Narrator's POV
"Just shut up and tell me where you are!" An emerald furry shouted through the phone. A chuckle came from the other side of the phone. "It's not funny!"
"Okay, okay, okay... I'm..." There was a pause. "On the phone with you!" There was a loud laugh.
"I'm losing my patience..."
"Okay... I'm sorry." The other took some time to breathe. "I can't tell you where I am."
"Why not?!"
"I just can't. Byeee." The phone call ended.
"No!" Emerald threw his phone across the room. "That bitch! I'll come and get him!" Shouted the furious hedgehog. He sighed after calming down. He looked over at a picture of his ebony lover. "Don't worry Shadow, I'll come and bring you home." He said.
Mephiles' POV
The little black hedgehog was sleeping on my lap relaxed. Honestly, I don't want him for sex...I like him. And I totally mean like, like him. He's so cute and those ruby colored eyes are so beautiful. He's adorable when he curls up to sleep. He wakes up like a small child who was disturbed during his evening nap. His quills would be messy, and his eyes would be tired and heavy.
Sometimes he'd also be grumpy because I'd wake him up.
Then there's that adorable smile that he forms on his lips. He closes his eyes and smiles warmly at you. He's so irresistible. He was the cutest creature on this earth, he's very playful too. Man, but does he love having his tummy rubbed. Once your hands began rubbing his belly, he'd paralyze and starts to purr.
His ears were sensitive and so was his tail. He'd get really nervous and worried once someone messed with them.
Sometimes when he makes me angry, he always finds some cute way around it. Wether it was a broken plate, vase or any other glass object he'd apologize and cutely find his way around the punishment.

Now we were in the backyard. The grass was green, there were very many colorful flowers and a willow tree in the corner. I put a concrete bench under that tree.
Shadow was jumping around, chasing crickets. He'd jump in piles of leaves that had shed looking for them. He likes digging for them too. Every time he'd catch one he'd put it in a jar beside me, I was sitting down on the bench under the willow tree, but then they'd hop out.
He came back so confused wondering where his crickets had gone, then he'd go catch some more. I looked at the time, it was about lunch time.
"Hey Shadow!" I called him over. I didn't see him anywhere. I turned my head toward some rumbling bushes, his head came up. His quills were a mess, then he turned to me, he had something in his mouth. "Come on, it's lunch time!" He dove back in the bushes. I sighed.
He's so stubborn sometimes... I got up and walked over to the bush. I dug my hand in there, and got a grip of his fur.
"Gotcha..." I said playfully. I pulled him up from the bush. He had leaves and twigs in his quills. He had...
A pair of my boxers in his mouth!
I blushed like crazy. "Give me those!" I yanked them from his mouth.
"Ow..." He groaned and put his hands to his mouth, beginning to roll into a ball.
"Let me see..." I said, putting the boxers in my pocket. I brought my face closer to his to see, but he licked my nose. "Hey!" He giggled.
"Gotcha!" He laughed. I put him over my shoulder. "Hey!"
"Let's go eat something besides my boxers..." I told him. We entered the house.

Mephiles' POV
"Come on Shadow. Just this one."
"I don't like it."
"Hey, if you put dressing on your broccoli it'll taste better." I told him.
"I already tried it, and it tastes bad. Can I just eat my carrots?"
"No, broccoli has a lot of nutrients in it that you need. Now eat it..."
"No." He said closing his mouth.
"Shadow..." He shook his head. "It's just a little stem."
"Eww!" He slapped it onto the floor.
Narrator's POV
The pet's master was now angered.
"Shadow!" He shouted.
The pet laid his ears down on his head and shrugged his shoulders. He noticed his master was angered. "No, see? I'm eating my vegetables..." He pet whispered now scared. Mephiles slapped the green food out of his hands, making the black pet squeak.
"You are a disgrace! Don't you appreciate the food I put on this table for you?! It's a waste of money and time! Maybe I should not feed you, that way you'll appreciate the food, because you'll be starving!" Shouted his master.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to, I was just..." The pet entered panic and ran to another room.
"Stupid hedgehog!" The pet's master sighed, trying to calm down. "Shadow... Shadow wait!" But the pet was gone already.

Meanwhile a certain blue hedgei had visits.
"So how's everything in Möbius?"
"Good. It's a wonderful place really. How's Rosy?"
"Well, she won't stop chasing me."
"Same here with Amy. They love us so much." Sonic winked at his classic form.
"I heard Scourge was caught, but released seven months ago and that Shadow was found." Classic answered.
"Oh yeah. That been going on for a while now, but it's gone down. Hey you wouldn't mind watching over the house, while I go get dinner...would ya?" Sonic asked turning back to his guest after drying his hands on the kitchen towel.
"No problem at all. What's for dinner?"
"Only the best thing in the world..." Sonic smiled. "Be back in a flash!" He zoomed out the door.
"Okay, I'll just be here watching the house." His guest jumped of his chair and walked over to the couch, and grabbed the remote. "Let's see what's on Cartoon Network..." He turned the TV on.

Decompose!
Dear diary. When you read stories about some people missing and returning after years of absence claiming they were living in another world, your first reaction is to scoff and dismiss a story as a tall tale, right? I know I did. All the time. Until it happened to me and I no longer did. That day was today. Some god of thunder smote me. If it were Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't mind but it was some barbaric Hitite god that abaondned Earth some four millennia ago. Yes, what can I say? I love the seventh art. I have more hours watching movies than any other activity, including sleep. What? Do you think I'm exaggerating? Maybe I am. I'll really miss hollywood the most. And my biggest regret is that I never got to visit the holy city of cinema. I did not come to another world to be a hero even though there was hints that they hoped I'd save it. I did not come with overpowered abilities able to, dunno, leap tall castles in a single bound, faster than a speeding crossbow bolt, be more powerful than a eight-horse carriage, the bounds. No. After the asshole god that murdered me brought me to his world, he gave me some boons from his discount bin and "The Power of my Soul (tm)". Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. Wish me luck, diary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This novel is going have the following features: slow-paced slice-of-life No GameLit / LitRPG elements. Movie references. Sandra likes the seventh art. Journal / diary style crafting (includes chemistry, engineering and metallurgy) low magic technological advancement (for Sandra, at least. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned. I'll try to be as realistic as I can with the crafting, chemistry, and technology. Cover: Public Domain Image by StockSnap from Pixabay. No attribution required but we do it anyway.

8 185The Grey Realm, an Erebus Story.
Written by: Staugroan and The Inklets. Edited by: Claudia Adams. In the beginning there was a god, who watched over and made one world his own. Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. The god was so fascinated with this new world that he started to copy it back home, creating oceans, forests, deserts, and so forth. Then the god created life and eventually his favored creations who would be immortals and be the better of mankind in every way-the elves. So often the god had traveled to Erebus that the two worlds became linked by magic and their inhabitants could cross at will. Relations between the races flourished, and a great empire was born in the Grey Realm, home of the elves. But the god once again grew restless, and set loose great beasts that stood at the top of any food chain, the apex. At first the elves met the challenge and fought them head on. But mankind was not so lucky, they died in droves to push back even a single apex. Something had to be done. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex. Uch'l'thein, the faceless terror.

8 153Aethernum—Cradle of Yore
Diary Number 999, year I-don't-care, location home. Parenting. Of all I've found clear answers except for this most mundane topic. And not for the lack of trying. My library, so humongous my good friends told me one after the other there is no book it doesn't contain helped little. There are crumbling tomes of ancient magic, vocabularies depicting the evolution of the magical language itself, grimoires and holy bibles of cults long past, rows and rows filled with scrolls bearing the efforts of my magical research, contracts, diaries, letters and more. But parenting? There was none. Yet a struggle nearly every member of the Races is not foreign to. I...must have lived under a rock. Across aeons no less. What a humbling revelation.
