Sandra: and??😒
Kevin: 😍😰
Sandra: am I supposed to say thank you?
Sandra: you're begging kevin just letting you know
Sandra: no
Sandra: no.
Sandra: no.
👀😏
😉
Sandra: I only did it cause you were begging.
Sandra: we're not🙄
Sandra: never.
Sandra: do you WANT me to untag you?
Sandra: good choice.
Sandra: why?
Sandra: because the lamp was turned off unlike your phone.
Sandra: no one asked
🤓
Sandra: I don't want you to ruin it.
I hovered my thumbs over my screen, turning around to lay on my stomach. I bit my lip, almost groaning into my pillow at his words. He couldn't just say things like that and think I wouldn't be affected. Idiot.
Sandra: no
Sandra: just thinking
🤔
Yes.
Sandra: no.
Sandra: I WASNT
😉
Sandra: let it goo
😍😍
I sucked in another breath, not knowing if I was actually starting to like him or like the attention. I went with the attention.
Sandra: Kevin...
Sandra: no I'm good
I wasn't even going to question why he was going to bed so early. I didn't have to. He was told to go on a proper sleeping schedule to get in a routine. At least that's what he told me that other day. He also said his mom was on his case about it so I decided to get on his case about it too.
Sandra: okayy night Kevin
❤️😁
My eyes widened at that just when I get another message.
Amelia💗👯: WHY IS KEVIN THE ONLY PERSON TAGGED IN YOUR PHOTO WHILE I'M NOT? I EVEN HELPED YOU PICKED IT ARE Y'ALL DATING NOW?
•••
"Cam, you need to relax. It's not that serious."
"Some people are even giving you looks."
"Because I tagged Kevin in my picture. That's why? It's a fricking picture."
"Yeah, but it's like you basically told everyone that you two are together." I tagged someone i an Instagram picture. It was just a picture. How does that give any indication that we are together?
"But we aren't."
"What are you two then?" Cam asked with a raised eyebrow.

"We're just friends." I stopped myself. Friends don't call the other baby and use excessive amounts of red hearts. Actually some of my friends and I use crazy amounts of red hearts with one another so that's out of the question. But it was Kevin. Him calling me that and sending me what should be cringy but was kind of endearing things was just how he worked. How he worked as a friend.
Maybe I was overthinking this.
"We're together, she just doesn't know it." Arms wrapped around me from behind and Kevin propped his chin on my shoulder.
"Kevin," I started, not even turning to look at him. One of Cam's eyebrows raised as his eyes went to Kevin arms around me. "Get off me."
"You're not making any movement to get me off you, babe." He mumbled and I realized he was right. I could sense the grin on his face before he even chuckled.
I didn't even bother telling him to let go. I knew he would find another way to hug me. Looking at him from the side, I asked. "Did you sleep properly last night?"
"Yeah, I got some sleep." He said, looking more awake than he usually does.
"That's good." One of Cam's friends came up to him and engaged in conversation, leaving me to talk to Kevin.
"So you're going to allow me to do this?" He asked me.
I shrugged, not really answering.
"You don't mind." He observed.
"Not really."
"Feeling," He trailed off and I could sense the smile on his face again as I checked the time on my phone before shoving it in my pocket. "Comfortable?"
Very.
"I guess so."
"Are you agreeing to go to prom with me now?"
"You realize I'm not actually going to go to prom with someone who first asked me over text right? I've said this so many times I swear. I'm starting to sound like a broken record."
I broke out of his hold, turning around to face him. Kevin rubbed the back of his neck. "Not really. At first it was worth a shot. But remember? I won't actually truly, seriously, ask you over text. C'mon give me more credit."

"Are you ever going to tell me why after three years you've decided to talk to me and ask me to prom of all places?"
"Don't forget when I asked you to be my future girlfriend."
"Yeah that too."
Kevin put his hands in his pockets, biting his bottom lip before saying. "Because I wanted to."
"But why?"
"Because-"
"Yo Kevin!" A member of the basketball team pulled Kevin away before I even had the chance to know.
"Are you serious?" I muttered, watching him get dragged away.
"I'll call you tonight?" He asked, his eyes looking hopeful.
I sighed. "Sure, why not?"
"That's the spirit S." He said before he disappeared down the hallway.
Turning to Cam, he repeated his question from earlier a smug look on his face. "So what are you guys again? Friends you said?"
"Shut up and walk me to class." I muttered, moving by him to get on my way.
"Whoa, whoa," Cam grabbed my arm gently. "Chill. Why are you so angry?"
"I'm not angry." I told him, seeing Amelia heading towards us.
"Tell that to the vein popping out of your forehead." Amelia said.
"It's-I'm not," I almost reached a hand up to my head to see if she was joking when I fought against it. "Just think about this. Kevin-"
"You are giving him a chance right? I mean the tag kind of-"
"For the last time," I said, rolling my eyes at my best friend and cousin. "The tag means nothing."
"Then what are you angry about?" Amelia asked.
"I'm not-listen. If a guy you used to be into a long time ago and used to talk to a long time ago decided to suddenly one day make his way back into your life-"
"Text messages actually." Cam corrected.
"And Instagram." Amelia added.
"Is that just not a little suspicious?" I finished off my sentence.
"It's Kevin." Amelia said.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Kevin. He's not a player. He's not a dick. His friends can be around sexualizing a girl that walks by and Kevin's the one that'll say 'stop'. I swear he only goes to a house party like once a year. And he's only had like two girlfriends through high school. There was Hillary-"
"That was in grade ten after he came back right?" Cam asked.
"Yeah, " Amelia confirmed. "The one who S got jealous over and started dating Danny to forget about Kevin."
"Um," I stared at them both amazed that they even decided to bring up the ex-boyfriend. "You know I'm here right? I dated Danny because I liked him not because of Kevin. That has nothing to do with Kevin. Besides Danny and I got together before Kevin dated Hillary, remember?"
Cam rolled his eyes. "Yes because we want to remember who dated who in the tenth grade like we'll remember in ten years."
"Anyway," Amelia continued. "And he dated Alivia last year. That's it. He liked both of them. Actually loved both of them- I think only Alivia seeing as they only broke up because she moved but that's besides the point. What I'm trying to bring up is that Kevin is probably pursuing you because he actually likes you. As a person."
"An angry person but maybe he likes you nevertheless." Cam smiled at me, messing up my hair and I pushed his arm away.
I sucked in a deep breath, slowly making my way down the hallway and they caught up with me. Amelia was right Kevin was that type of person. He was kind of different from the people, the basketball guys, he hung out with. "He's never said it."I pointed out, hugging my textbook to my chest.
"Maybe he's waiting for you to say it first." Cam suggested.
I laughed at that moment, patting Cam on the chest and hooking my arm through Amelia's. "Not a chance."
