My stomach drops at the messages on my phone. Less than 24 hours ago I told Timmy that I loved him and he said it back. Now he seems like he wants nothing to do with me.
Does he not actually love me?
Did he say it out of pity?
My mind floods with negative thoughts and the second my professor releases us from our class I practically sprint out the door.
My usual short walk to Timothée's apartment felt like a lifetime today. I smile kindly at the security, as always, and hurry to the elevator.
With each passing floor my heart sped up and I felt as if I could puke.
Maybe it's good news
Or maybe he fucking hates me
Once I reach Timmy's floor I speed walk down the hall and burst through his door, without even knocking.
I walk in to see him hunched over on a bar stool. As I get closer I see his eyes are red and puffy and he looks as if he hasn't slept.
"Baby what's wrong?" I ask, concern spilling from my voice as I approach.
He stays silent for a few seconds before standing up and wrapping me in his arms. I hug him back as he holds me tightly.
When he pulls apart from the embrace he takes a deep breath and I can practically see the gears turning in his head. "There's something I need to tell you" he begins and my heart stops but speeds up at the same time.
"Okay" I speak, hinting at him to continue.
"Adeline please just hear me out, I fucked up and I-" I cut him off, as I begin to worry.

"Timmy I won't be mad, Just tell me what you did" I encourage him. "Your scaring me"
"I cheated on you" I blurts out not daring to look into my eyes that are now filling with tears.
I shake my head as the salty tears drip down onto my face. "Excuse me?"
"I cheated on you" his voice quivers out. "I've been cheating on you"
My world stops right then and there. He's been cheating on me. So not once but multiple times.
My body begins to shake in anger. "With who?"
"That's not import-" I cut off his ignorant sentence before he even finishes.
"Who is it" I scream at him, catching him off guard.
"Lily"
My body is frozen but my mind is racing so incredibly fast. "Your a fucking disgusting human" I spit at him.
"Adeline you said you wouldn't be mad" he argues.
My whole body and mind sent into a state of enragement. "Are you fucking kidding me? You cheated on me. Multiple times" I begin to raise my voice again. "I gave you everything I had. I gave you my last piece of innocence that wasn't ripped away from me. I told you things I haven't told to another soul. I trusted you" I burst, my voice louder than I've ever heard it before.
"Adeline I'm sorry" he tries to reason with me.
I laugh at him, my tone making it very clear that I didn't find this funny. "Your sorry? Your sorry but you did this multiple times?" I shake my head. "Why did you tell me that you loved me?"
"Because I do" he pleads, tears now flowing from his eyes.
"No you fucking don't. If you loved me you wouldn't be cheating on me with your ex girlfriend" I bitterly scream. "If you loved me you wouldn't have taken advantage of me and made me look like a fucking idiot"

I shake my head as my thoughts continue to process. "You know what? No. Whatever this game was to you is now over. We're over. I'm taking my cat and I never want to see you again" I burst, now searching around his apartment for Berlioz.
"Adeline please stop and let's talk about this" Timothée tries to reason with me as I find the small animal resting on Timmy's bed.
I scoop the cat up in my arms and place him in his carrier that was in the corner of the room. "Get the fuck away from me" I growl at the boy blocking the front of his bedroom doorway.
"Please" He continues to beg.
Then I do something I never thought I would do. I took my free hand that wasn't hold Berlioz in his cat carrier, and I slap him. I slap him right in the face. "Fuck you" I scream now walking past him into his living room again.
He follows behind me, one hand cupping the side of his face. "Addy please. You love me right?" He asks, only causing my blood to boil even more.
I shake my head as I walk out his front door. "No Timothée, I actually think that I fucking hate you"
And with that me and Berlioz were gone.
