What happened between you and Smit? X
Who's askin'? X
It's ya boi. Skinny penis. X
That meme is as dead as I wish I was. X
You can't avoid it. Smit mentioned a girl. X
Yeah. Just need to learn to listen out for a response. X
You caught him kissing? X
What did he say to you? X
All he said was 'girls' and when I asked about the plural he admitted that it was more than just you. X
Yeah. I am being petty. I need to get over it. X
So you caught him kissing? X
No. He wasn't kissing. I did see him kiss her so say goodbye after. X
That isn't bad. What's the issue? X
They were doing more than a simple kiss. X
Don't give the nasties but give me a frame by frame. X
He had asked me to bring him a package if anything came for him. Because life. I did that but decided to knock. I never normally do but I felt like I had to. When I walked in it was clear that they had been kissing but the knock got his attention. He had his back to me so I saw nothing but I could see her. They were at it. X
Ah. Much worse than just a kiss. Sry bby. X
Thanks. How's it at your end? X
Single and lonely. X
Same. Maybe we can be lonely together. X
That isn't how it works but you are smooth. X
I know I am. That's how I do it. Flirt to break my heart. You know, I like the way my heart feels when it's broken. X
You still want him? X
Even if I did it's too late and he has moved on. Just tough to see. It was like walking in on Pete all over again. X

That was one messed up relationship. X
One messed up girl. X
I still love you bby. X
I love you more John. I really do. X
Now go and spread your spawn. Find a random pool and jack off. Get 'em pregnant. X
Bye to you too. X
I had barely finished messaging when the computer loaded and I set off. No recording just playing. Sometimes content could do the waiting.
It didn't last for long as my Discord sounded and my heart bounced. I saved my game and answered the call while closing the full game down.
When I turned around Jaren stood in the corner. My door had been closed but magic happened when headphones were put on.
"Sorry, Smii7y. I didn't see you. How can I help you?" He was silent whilst looking at me and then the screen.
"Um. I just thought you might like to watch with Jasmine and me." I shook my head and twitched one side of my nose up to show I didn't.
"Thanks but no. I will continue playing Sims. Sorry." Jaren left and I watched him. Hopes of him not remembering what Matt and I had spoken of wafted but were soon forgotten.
I hung my head and said a glum goodbye to Matt. He seemed unsure as to how best he could deal with it. I understood why. In the past, I just opened up to him. Suddenly, I had stopped.
When I closed it all down I realised that it was Friday. Then I realised why Jaren had asked if I fancied watching with him. We did it every Friday. Even when we had broken up. We watched something but I was on the other side of the sofa. By turning him down, Jaren must have realised that we had no more relationship. That sucked.
I sat on the edge of my bed. Notifications hit my phone and I just turned it off when the notification for an incoming call appeared. I wasn't in the mood to live. Living was not my forte. Surviving was easy but thriving was not at all my cup of tea. Not at that very point.

An Artificer's Ambition
Namar Brandy is a talented young smith who dreams of expanding his father's business in search of fame and fortune. Upon discovering his potential for magic at the Coming of Ages ceremony he sets off towards the academy in an attempt to improve his craft. The success he finds garners the attention of the merchants, the nobility and the other talented young mages, some harboring malicious intentions. Barlor Brown is a farmer's son, destined for a life of endless monotony. After discovering an immense potential for magic he joins the academy to avoid the life of a farmer. Fascinated with the new world, he works towards the life of an explorer and charting it's vast expanses, regardless of what horrors lie in wait. So, for those of you who might've already read The Artificer, I'm trying to redo it. (Yes, after only about five chapters.) mostly because I was really unhappy with it. So to anyone reading this, I wouldn't expect quality or quantity. Any crtiticism would be appreciated. And thank you to anyone who bothers to read through my crap.

**for Quravin** It's the summer of 2010, and Evan Barker's older brother Jason has just committed suicide. His devastated parents are reeling from the Recession, his friends are shiftless drunks, and his younger sister has been committed after discovering Jason's body. In an attempt to assuage the trauma his family has experienced and break away from his own shitty existence, Evan decides to grab his portion of the modern American Dream by trying out for that year's American Idol auditions in Nashville. Never mind that Evan's a 21-year-old virgin with a self-image as poor as his social skills. Never mind that he's never even attempted to sing before. In 21st century America, anything is possible, or so Evan's been told by a cultural upbringing of "Follow your dreams" and "Everyone is special" and "True love awaits". Speaking of true love, Evan asks Lily Trent to accompany him on the journey. Lily is a childhood acquaintance with whom he's recently reconnected and developed a crush on. Lately Lily's been working as a stripper, a cynical and jaded young woman who may or may not have her own motivations for joining Evan on the trip. Evan hopes the time alone will spark reciprocal affections in Lily, and an improbable come-from-nowhere triumph on national TV will not only free his family from their blue collar burdens, but win him the respect and love he craves-- not just from others, but from himself. Together, Evan and Lily discover why learning how to fail may be their generation's greatest lesson. Cover art by Gerry Siorek
