We stopped in front of the beautiful announcement hall. There were already luxurious cars and limo's parked in front if, that belonged to the other riches'. There are a LOT of them. Some of them work in the same company and some don't. My parents got out, as one of the guards from the hall walked to the limo. He opened the door and gave me his hand to help me out. I am so glad, because I probably would've broken my ankles on the pavement, with these heels.
As soon as I got out, my ears heard familiar screeching. Camilla Blanchard was standing in the middle of her followers, squealing and giggling. She was speaking fairly loud, making it easy to eavesdrop.
"OMG. I bet me and Ryder are going to be paired. It's gonna be so Romantic AHHH".
Of course, the popular walking STD would be paired with the perfect boy. I mean it hasn't been announced yet, but I'm sure she has a good chance. Imagine if one of her friends got paired with him instead, things are gonna go BALLISTIC'. I am totally going to stay afterwards, I want to see if a cat fight will break out. I heard my mother angrily calling out to me as I nervously approached her.
"Ivy! Fix your posture you're slouching. And this is not a time to be fooling around!". She remarked
"Yes mother. I'm sorry".
"The assembly will start in fifteen minutes. You can stay here but be on your best behavior".
I nodded my head, silently. The other adults had already gotten here, and they had last minute preparations. She laughed falsely with my father as they followed the other riches'. I craned my neck to turn around and a familiar face caught my eye. Among the fancy teenagers, girls were raving around who other. than Ryder. His wavy hair was neatly combed back and was wearing a navy blue suit, that perfectly complimented his striking grey eyes. He looked ridiculously handsome. He caught me staring and sent me a toothy smile as I turned away blushing.

There were 5 minutes left until the assembly started, so I just leaned on the hood of our limo going through my phone. Behind me I heard clutters of heels, and colliding dresses coming towards me. I turned around and saw Camilla Blanchard walking towards me with her followers, wearing a grim expression. She stood right in front of my and didn't say a word.
"Hey Camilla?" I said confused
"Don't hey me, you bitch".
"Excuse me?!" I said getting up.
"That's right. Stop eyeing my boyfriend as if you'll ever have a chance".
"What boyfriend?"
"Ryder!" She screamed
"I wasn't eyeing him, and he's not even your boyfriend". I shot back, not knowing where the confidence came from.
"Whatever just stay away from him. I know you have a crush on him, but I have already claimed him. Plus we're probably going to get paired to live together so you'll rarely see him". She rolled her eyes, walking away.
I stood there stunned. Fun fact I forgot to mention, Camilla also got accepted into Oxford. According to the rumors she begged her father to pay for the school, cause she heard Ryder would be going there. Sis doesn't have the brains for that, no offense.
The guard rang the huge bell, to invite the remaining of us inside. Time to suck it up, and brace myself.
