《VIKING PRINCESS》Chapter Thirty

She found herself in her room as Ubbe left her as he wanted to talk to Floki. She laid down looking at the ceiling when the door opened. "How do you feel?"
"I'm feeling great. I mean Floki has returned." Lagertha sat on the side of the bed and Grace sat up. Lagertha ran her fingers through Graces hair. "My mother used to brush my hair." "She did? Was it when you were sad."
Grace nodded and looked at Lagertha who stopped and returned her hands to her lap. "She would do that when she was upset with my brothers. She always came to me when they upset her. It made her feel better as well."
"You took care of you mother. I respect that." Lagertha stood as there was a knock at the door and Ubbe entered. "I shall leave you two. I hope you have good rest." Lagertha patted Graces shoulder and walked out closing the door.
"Why do you tell her about mother." "Because I want her to know the person she killed. That she was human and she meant a lot to me." Ubbe nods and kisses her head leaving her alone again.
The truth was that Grace wanted to tell Lagertha about her mother. She wanted someone to understand her like she did. She wanted Lagertha to know what she did but also not to have her pity.
She missed her brothers and she missed her mother. Her mother wasn't there anymore to comfort her, to brush her hair. She didn't want to tell Ubbe about her sadness as he had enough to do as they had returned.
She fell asleep thinking of her family. The next morning she found out from her brother that Floki had left to his special land with a hand full of their people. She shook her head but then a Lagertha put a hand on her shoulder.

"We have news of Ivar." With that they found themselves sat in the great hall. She was sat next to Ubbe. "In two full moons." "What else did she say?"
Grace had her hands in her lap waiting to hear of her twin brother. "How many ships they may have? How many warriors?" "No. But I can tell you something. Ivar the boneless has joined with King Harald."
She felt her heart drop and looked toward Ubbe. "Hvitserk?" She asked and the man nodded as she sunk her head down. Lagertha gave her a sympathetic glance as she knew they were twins.
"Ivar?" " he appeared one day with his ships. He and Harald have feasted together." Grace stood and looked to Lagertha. "May I be excused?" Lagertha gave her a stern nod and Grace left in a flash.
She left back to the woods in the middle of some flowers along a water embankment. She let some tears run free as she thought of if she should have stayed with Hvitserk.
"Why did he do this? Why did I let him leave?" She sat there until she heard a commotion and walked out of the woods. She then saw some run past her. "What is it?!" She yelled after them and they let out a faint word. "Bjorn."
Then she started a full sprint down the hill. She almost tripped as she made it halfway down. She then saw Halfdan and smiled. She ran up to him and wrapped her arms around him as he held her tightly.
"Thank you for coming back to me." She told him and kissed his cheek as they pulled away. "We must go meet with Lagertha." Bjorn told her and Halfdan.
"Then can we catch up." She said to Halfdan with hopeful eyes and he smiled as he put an arm around her. "Of course we can, Princess."

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

Sanguis
In a world inhabited by vampires, various factions are vying for dominance, whether through wars or grueling tournaments. In the midst of the conflict, two unsuspecting humans become caught in the battle. Note: My first story on here, I wanted to try writing a story with battles and leveling up, the kind of story where a character starts at the bottom and world their way up. I hope this story is a good chance to see what works and try out a few different ideas I’ve had.

The End
There are five days left. The End is a miracle 10,000 years in the making that will free all from the confines of the world. The gods will soon be born. There is nothing that can be done about this. Not a webnovel, but a screenplay, submitted as my dissertation for my screenwriting degree. Sort of experimental. I have learned that I dislike writing screenplays, but all the same, I thought I'd post it anyway so it's at least worth something that way.
