"Don't try to make us feel sorry for you. Because my brother, we never will." Ivar smiled and tipped his cup in Hvitserks direction. "There's a large Saxon force on its way here. But I though you'd already know that."
They walked away from him and she separated herself from them to be on her own. She went to find a small patch of grass and sat down wondering what Ivar had become.
She always thought Ivar would do everything right by her. She missed Sigurd and her mother but she had to leave them behind in thought.
She didn't want to be emotional anymore since it got her no where but more hurt. She thought about leaving her brothers but decided against it as she would miss them including Ivar.
She just wished Ivar wouldn't be so cruel to people like how he was with the man yesterday.
She heard the sound of footsteps behind her and stood quickly to face who it was. But stopped when she saw Ubbe. "Thought that I would find you here." He said nodding for her to sit back down where she was.
She did as he did and sat back down. "Ivar stood." He told her without looking towards her but at the trees. "What do you mean?" She asked with confusion written on her face.
"He had one of the blacksmiths fix him something for his legs." He told her before looking at her to see her half smiling. "It's okay to be happy for him."
She nodded towards him and hit him on the back. "Let's get back, Ubbe." She said to him and stood waiting for him to get up so they could go together. Once he got up she put her arm around his as they walked back.

When they got back she went to the blacksmith and found Ivar sat watching them sharpen his blade. "I heard you walked." She said as she stopped next to him and his head show up to look.
"I thought you didn't want to talk to me, Sister." He told her looking back towards his sword. "Just because I'm mad doesn't mean I won't speak to you, Brother." She slapped his shoulder and made him look to her.
She backed up and motioned her hands up and he smiled and went to a beam to help him stand. She smiled and walked towards him and put her arms around him. "You put your weight on me. I'm stronger than I look."
He put his arms around her neck and shifted his weight as they hugged. "I'm sorry. I understand what I did was wrong." She could feel slight wetness on her shoulder. She pulled back but kept her arms around him.
"I never want to see you cry. I know your sorry but I need a little more time." He nodded and they hugged one last time as she pulled away from him. She walked away as he watched her happy she was finally talking to him one on one.

A Mighty Conqueror
"I found out, the greatest ones. The best. The most prolific ones, were all momma's boys. Yea, afraid of their mother. Napoleon, Alexander, Genghis Khan." Mike Tyson on the Greatest Conquerors. It was on a sunny afternoon that he went from the honored son of the City Lord, to the untouchable son of the witch. Said witch was his mother, the kindest soul he had ever seen. All to take his mother's position as Head Wife. Now, he and his mother must struggle to live and rise from the ashes of their societal death. The Core of a Factory
An abandoned steampunk arms factory, in the middle of a conflict torn former state of the Empire it served, gains a soul. This transforms it into a Lord, capable of turning land into power. Beset by enemies on all sides it must figure out how to win the war its creators lost a century ago. This is a progressive Dungeon Core novel (which is to say the core will progress and expand in scale, eventually) across multiple dimensions with different characteristics (e.g. steampunk, magic, mythological). It has rationalist leanings (paragraphs of reasoning) and litrpg leanings (there are stat blocks). The core game mechanical idea is something like "what if different flavors of magic power actually did come from controlling land" and then the story is: "what if there was a flavorless (artifact deck) dungeon core". Chapters will be relatively short (my aim is that in three column format each would fit on a wide screen monitor), the first few chapters - setting up the main character and mechanics - are currently the longest in the entire series. I write chapters in blocks, and then release them one a weekday (M-F; 6 PM GMT, unless RoyalRoad's publish thing screws up) until I run out. There may be a few days of gaps here and there if someone finds an egregious error I have to re-write around or if I am behind. In general though one can read this once a weekend. I may do slight retconns and edits, I'll make sure to put it in an authors note if I do.
