《VIKING PRINCESS》Chapter Twenty-Four

Next thing she knew she was with her brothers in a tower watching the Christians. She watched as they climbed over the wall and continued to be killed. She stood next to Ubbe who had a hand on her shoulder.
"That's him." Ivar spoke looking down at the men. "Who?" "Aethelwulf, King Ecbert's Son. Oh, and he brought his own sons. Like lambs to the slaughter." She felt Ubbes hand leave her shoulder.
"Hvitserk, lets go." Hvitserk stood to leave but they both were stopped. "Be careful, my dear brothers." Grace told them as they nodded and rushed out to join the fight.
She walked over to Ivar and spoke "I already know what you are going to do. But I want you to know, I'm not disappointed in you." Ivar looked up at her with a slight smile. "I just wish for your safe return."
She nodded towards him as he got down from his seat and left the building. "Why must my brothers be so stupid." She took the seat previously occupied by Ivar.
She thought over wether she join or stay put. She knew Ubbe would want her to stay put. She started to feel bored as she watched them fight amongst themselves.
She soon saw a boy getting cornered and watched him trying to fight. She then saw a man grab him and kill the others. She wished her had gone out there but it was no use anymore.
Ubbe came running up to the room she had stayed in. "Thank Odin. I'm glad you didn't go out there. Come on." He said after seeing her sat at the window half asleep. He put her arm around his shoulder and dragged her to the great hall.
She saw many men and some women all sat around tired. "We did Well, Brothers." She smiled as everyone cheered. "We?" "Yes. I saved your life." She rolled her eyes knowing that Ivar was going to cause another problem.

"It was all my strategy." She stood from her spot on the floor. "No one cares that it was your plan. It only matters that the people here are alright and alive. Not everything is about you as you seem to think."
"I don't care what you think, Grace." "We all did very well though. Why.... why do you argue, huh?" "I'm not arguing." She snorted the statement which caused all her brothers to look at her.
"Good. The most important thing is what we do next." "And isn't that obvious, Ubbe?" "Yes." She ignored Ivar when he looked over to her from time to time. "We have defeated the Saxons. Let's make good our claim to the land. Let's all make peace."
"I have no interest in peace. Peace is a dirty word." "More of our people can cross the water. We can all farm, huh?" She nodded in agreement but what Ubbe said and meant.
"Now, it is time to negotiate." "And that is the wrong advice, as always, Ubbe." She rolled her eyes and decided to not start another argument with her brother. "So, Ivar, what do you suggest, hm?"
Hvitserk stood walking to Ivar. She moved from her spot to where he had formerly sat. "The Saxons lost the battle, but they have not yet lost the war. I would beware of trying to negotiate with them." She looked to Ubbe who had his eyes on Ivar.
Hvitserk moved from where he stood and patted Ivar on the shoulder. "I must rest before we find them." He said then looked back at Grace. "I'm going to stay with Ubbe." He nodded putting his cup down and walking out.
She stood and walked to Ubbe and patted his arm. "Come on, you've been drinking let's get you some rest." She said as she dragged him up by his arm which was slightly hard for her. Once she got him up she put his arm around her shoulder and left.
"Grace!" She heard a yell and saw Ivar crawling his way to her in a fast pace. "What could you possibly want now?" She asked him with a roll of her eyes. "I wanted to apologize to you." She nodded her head left with Ubbe.

The Nomad: A Starforged ttrpg Playthrough

Unfortunately for Ash, worst courier in the helix, that's his day-to-day. When he gets offered an opportunity to get back into this boss's good graces (and finally get something decent to eat), Ash jumps at the chance, even if that means getting tangled back up with figures he'd rather leave in the past.
