《Vikings, Mini Drabbles》Hvitserk: Watching love

You were well known to be eyes of this group, to see the details, to analyze the acts. You weren't much of a talker, not in general at least but you had something others would die for. Not the skills in a fight or the healing hands. You just knew you way around the small details, strategics was maybe a big word but it was easy to get something done with you around. You plucked the thieves and traitors right out, you could split the liars from the believers. Somebody was hating you for it ... As you were looking you felt him looking, eyes piercing through your skin with that greed all spread through it. You didn't knew what Ivar hated more about you, your fine eye for detail or the fact you were Hvitserk his girl. That was why you kept your distant, you saw enough and you didn't want to fall in those traps. From all people Ivar was the most complexed one and you hated it how little support you could give Hvitserk, knowing that Ivar would come right after you if you did.
The camp laid covered in a tight forest, yet the drops of rain found there way through the leaves, causing your hair to feel a little wet. You turned your head on the laughter that came out of a tent, being here wasn't one of your favorite things. Ever since Ivar and Hvitserk did things alone everything felt different. You could gaze for hours, until somebody snapped you out of that trance, it was just so difficult ... in ways. 'I will start to think you love the trees more.' His voice rose up from behind you and you smiled. 'Maybe I do, they aren't complaining that much.' You reacted, looking over your shoulder to that instant smile grewing on his face. 'Is that the reason why you hang around here?' He asked. You looked back in front of you, lifting your arm a little so he could sneak his arms around you, leaning his chin on your furry coat. 'No.' You simply answered. 'What is it then? You grew distant the moment we left.' He noticed. You couldn't resist a smile, glad he at least noticed that. 'Maybe I just can't handle the way Ivar is treating you.' You shook your head and turned your body a quarter, leaning against the tree. 'I would love to see you putting him in place.' He smiled. 'There wouldn't be much me left if I did, he is praying me from the moment I entered Kattegat months ago.' Hvitserk his face grew concerned, stern almost. You stroke your fingers along his cheekbone. 'That is why I'm here.' You finished. He swallowed, looking away while he thought about it. Hvitserk know deep down he wasn't a match for Ivar. 'It's lonely here without you.' 'Then you shouldn't go to bed that late and get up that early.' You winked, pulling that little concern from his face by leading it closer. 'I'm doing it to protect you, never forget that.' You whispered, kissing him that careful and tenderly that you knew he would be there when you woke up the next morning.

It was like a vague memory, a memory that got refreshed the moment you felt his lips travel up your shoulder blade, leaving you to mutter something still half asleep. 'Your wish is my command.' You felt him smile and you slowly turned to your back, meeting those tempted eyes. 'I love it when you leave me in command.' You played along. 'If it's about our love, yes, happily.' He smiled charming, lowering his face to kiss you goodmorning. You stroke his face, tangling your fingers through his hair while you took that kiss right into the depths. His body found it's way above you and you smothered a giggle as he playfully bite your neck. You squeezed your legs both sides of his body and he looked slowly up to you. 'Told you it would benefit our both.' You fingers scoured over his shoulder while you kept looking into those eyes you fell in love with. 'Stand by my side.' He said serious. You wanted to speak but he covered your mouth with his hands. 'I don't care what Ivar things or does, if he moves against you I will break him apart so much he can't crawl to begin with.' 'Don't.' You said against his hands. 'I will protect you, with everything I have if needed.' He promised, leaving your heart weak and vulnerable. 'Stand by my side.' He repeated, hopefully looking for an answer. You slowly nodded, giving him a soft smile. 'And when we are back home, please marry me.' He followed, making that soft smile extend. You bite your lip before you pulled his face closed and kissed him again, by the gods, why was he so tempting like this.
