《Complete // Stiles Stilinski [3]》14

"Brianna, get in the damn jeep!" Stiles yelled, driving by me. I'm running faster than his jeep, trying to catch up to the Beast.
"No, I can be there faster!"
I didn't even know my abilities could allow me to run this fast. I knew I was fast, but not faster than 60 mph. If I tried, I think I could go faster actually.
I leaped off the ground and jumped high up, landing on top of Stiles's jeep. I flipped my hair out of my face, standing up without flying off.
"Brianna!" I heard Stiles yell and I ignored him. I seriously could be in the jeep with them but why? This is way more fun!
I couldn't see pass the flashing red and blue lights of the police cars we were chasing after.
"Unit 5 heading northwest on Crescent reporting an incredibly large... something," I heard a voice say on the radio in Stiles's jeep.
"Unit 9, to Dispatch, I think I've got eyes on the same thing. Some kind of rabid animal."
"Unit 5 to 9. Trust me, that's no animal."
"Unit 6, to Dispatch. We've got a situation downtown. Multiple fatalities."
"Copy. Medics on the way. Do you have a perp in sight Unit 6?"
"Negative. Looks like a 10-91E. Animal attack."
"10-4. Can you say what kind of animal?"
There was silence from Unit 6. No response.
"All units stay back. Do not engage. I repeat, do not engage," Stiles said through the radio.
"Stiles, get off the radio," Sheriff Stilinski replied angrily through the police radio. "All units alert. Wait for back-up. Repeat, no one goes near this thing."
"Unit 5 reporting a sighting on Hill Road southbound."
"Unit 9, I've got it turning off Oakridge, southbound on beachwood."
"All units, this is Dispatch. We've got a 911 call with an additional sighting on Mitchell."
"Hey!" I yelled so they could hear me. "Did they say Beachwood to Mitchell?"
"It's headed right for the hospital!" Scott yelled.
Right before I jumped off the hood I heard Stiles yelling to his dad through his radio on where the Beast was going. I took it upon myself to get there before everyone else.
I could hear the alarm blaring once I got there. I saw them evacuating patients out the second I could see the front doors.
"Again, this is a code white, a full hospital evacuation," Melissa said through the intercom. "All critical patients will be taken by ambulance to Hill Valley."
The whole place shook and lights flickered as if there were an Earthquake. Or in this case, something really big and strong just landed.
I finally made my way through the last round of people. I could see Melissa walking slowly toward the elevators. There was a loud crashing sound but I didn't see anything fall or break so it had to be above us.
The elevator door dinged and the second they opened there was a loud roar. I took no time to grab Melissa and get her the hell out of there.
Once I got her safely outside, I went back inside myself.
I smelled something burning above me so I followed the smell to the fourth floor. I found the source of the burning smell then a burning Parrish landed in front of me.
My eyes widened as I saw the Beast standing a few feet in front of me. I didn't even have time to process that the monster was charging right for me.

I felt my skin burn as Parrish grabbed a hold of me and threw me out of the way. I let out a scream as I hit the fire off my shoulders.
I didn't even see the Beast disappear. I just saw, once again, Parrish's flamming body fly through the air and hit the wall, hard. I looked to the other side and saw that it was just us two, or so I thought.
As I got up from the ground and went to Parrish's aid, I found Scott, Stiles, and Sheriff Stilinski on the other side of the wall.
The orange of Jordan's eyes went back to their normal color, but he he didn't move.
"Brianna, are you okay?" I heard Stiles whisper, most likely referring to the hand shaped holes in my shirt that were burned away.
I shushed him and leaned down beside Parrish. I looked down at the large claw mark across his chest, which he was holding on to as it healed pretty fast.
"Jordan, you okay?" I asked him, using his first name. He seemed in a trance.
I looked at Sheriff Stilinski who was now leaning down beside him on the other side.
"Deputy!" He yelled, snapping Parrish out of it. He panted out of breath as he looked around.
Parrish slowed down his breathing as he looked behind me, a confused look on his face. Sheriff and I followed his gaze and found Scott slowly walking down the hallway, looking down at the ground.
I got up and followed behind him and Stiles. I noticed bloody foot prints of the Beast continue down the hall. Then, what shocks the three of us, the claw prints turn into tennis shoe marks.
The Beast just turned human and walked away...

So it turns out that Dr. Valack use to do experiments on any living supernatural creature he could get his hands on. He would use trepanation to drill a hole into their heads, and he's going to do the same to Lydia soon if we can't get her out. And if we can't get to her, the sound of her own dying scream, could kill anyone around her.
"There's four steps. We get into Eichen, we get into the Closed Unit, we get Lydia, get out," Stiles explained.
"And we have to do all of this while getting past orderlies, guards, electronic door locks, and a Mountain Ash barrier," said Scott.
"You have a plan for all of that?" Malia asked.
Stiles pulled out the key card he got from a guard last night and said, "Sorta. I stole this last night off an orderly. But it's useless 'cause they reset the codes each night."
"So why'd you take it?" Kira asked.
"I'm getting to that."
"The only way to get Lydia out of Eichen is to make that key card work again," said Scott while pointing to the key card.
"Why can't Brianna just do that little eye thing?" Malia asked.
"It won't work because of the Mountain Ash. It messes with my senses," I explained to them.
(A/N Listen, I know in the first book Brianna used compulsion in Eichen, but if she was really in Teen Wolf, it would all be much easier. I'm just saying that so I can go along with the plot and not change it so please don't yell at me XD )
"How are you even going to get the key card to work?" Liam asks.
"We're getting to that, okay. Just listen," Stiles turned his laptop around to show us the screen. "I pulled all the history off the key card. Two weeks ago, there was a brownout and the security system rebooted. And during a reboot, all of the key cards revert back to the default code. So, if we trigger a reboot..."

"The card goes back to the default code," Liam finished. "it works again."
"How are we gonna cause a brownout?" Kira asked.
"That's your part," Scott nodded to her.
I can't wait to see what my part is. I bet it's something badass. Shutup, Brianna. Focus.
"You're gonna draw power from the main line. But only enough to cause the brownout," Scott explained.
Stiles pointed to her and said, "Not a blackout. You do that, you send Eichen into a lockdown which would be bad. Very, very bad."
"There's an electrical room behind the reception counter." Scott pointed to the room on the map. "The main power line goes into two breakers that run power to all of Eichen."
Kira let out a dry laugh and shook her head, "Okay, slight problem. I don't know how to do that."
"That's okay. You have time to practice," Scott reassured her.
"Let's say all this goes perfectly. How does a brownout get us into the closed unit of Eichen?" Malia asked.
"The system takes five minutes to reboot. In that five minutes all the alarms will be turned off, the key card should work," explained Stiles.
Wow. They have an answer to every question. They really thought this through.
"Liam, you and I get Stiles to the gate of the Closed Unit. But after that, he has to go on his own. We can't get pass the Mountain Ash barrier. And when we're gone, all anyone's going to think is that there was a reboot of the security system caused by a brownout." Scott explained the whole plan that evolves them but, how are they even going to get inside?
"Uh, any questions?" Stiles asked the four of us.
"How do we get into Eichen House in the first place?" Liam asked, taking the words straight from my mouth.
"What's our worst case scenario?" Malia asked the same time Kira asked, "What if I can't do it?"
"Okay, admittedly, a lot could go wrong," Stiles admitted.
"Eh, everything could go wrong," I held up my finger and said.
"Guys," Scott sounded serious. "If we don't do this, we lose Lydia. She's going to die in there tonight. And she might take a lot of innocent people with her."
My head fell and my heart ached. Just hearing those words made it all real. We can't lose Lydia. I can't lose Lydia. Not her, not anyone else.
"How are you guys getting in?" I asked.
"That's where you come in," said Stiles. "If Parrish agree's to drive the van, Scott, Liam and I will be in body bags. The gaurds in the back will trust Parrish since he's a cop but, you need to compel him to let Parrish drive the van in. And, you kinda need to watch over Parrish if he, ya know, catches on fire. Because you heal the fast and.."
"I'm on babysitting duty? We're saving my best friend and I don't even get to see her?" I crossed my arms over my chest.
"See, I knew it," Stiles whispered to Scott. "I knew she wouldn't like that plan. I told you."
"Brianna, you can't get pass the Mountain Ash just like Liam and I can't. Your abilities are useful outside and we're counting on you for this," Scott said.
"And how am I supposed to keep up with Parrish if he turns?" I asked them.
Scott and Stiles shared a look before they look back at me. "Make sure no one gets in his way."
***
"She took out the whole school?" Scott asked Malia in shock.
"She took out the whole grid," Malia corrected.
"Look, I failed every single practice try. This isn't going to work," Kira said in disappointment of herself.
"How far can we get without the brownout?" I asked Stiles and Scott.
"The front door," Stiles said sarcastically, though he wasn't joking.
"We're going," Scott said.
"Scott, we went through boxes of light bulbs," Kira argued.
Scott took a step closer to her. "It doesn't matter. You can do this."
"The keycard won't work without a reboot. And there's no reboot without a brownout."
Scott placed his hands on her shoulders and smiled. "I know you can do this." Scott looked over his shoulder for our help. "Anyone here think she can't?"
Liam shook his head, "Uh, not me."
"You can do this Kira!" I said with a fake smile. I laughed awkwardly and looked around.
"I was the one to put you in the plan," Stiles smiled.
We all looked at Malia and waited for her to answer.
"What?" She asked.
"I believe in you too, Kira," Stiles whispered to her.
"I'm the one who's going to be locked in an electrical room with her!" We all kind of gave her the same look.
She sighed and looked at Kira and said, "You can do it."
Malia gave me a look that said Are you happy now? I gave her a toothy grin and held up two thumbs up.
Kira shook her head and looked up at Scott. "You guys are all crazy. We're gonna die."
"Hah, not me," I stuck out my tongue but then saw everyone staring at me. "I'm kidding! Sheesh, tough crowd."
***
"It stinks. I can't handle this any longer," I said in a nasally voice from holding my nose.
"Try being back here," I heard Liam's muffled voice from the back.
"Shush, we're almost to the gate." I shushed the three boys in the back.
"You think this will work?" Jordan asked nervously.
"Just stay calm and let me do the talking," I reassured him.
Parrish pulled up to the booth where a guard came out with a clipboard in his hand. Parrish rolled down my side of the window.
"Delivery to the morgue," I told the man.
He look down at his clipboard and shook his head.
"I don't see you on the list," he looked at Parrish then at me.
"Can I see some identification?" He asked me.
I smiled at him and pulled the fake ID from my chest that was clipped onto this ugly blazer of mine and handed him the card.
"Hi, Dr. Regina Phalange, Beacon County morgue." I laughed and took the card back and snapped it in two. I grabbed the man by the face, making him look me in the eyes. "We're not on the list. The morgue at the hospital was full, you got a call saying there was a transport van coming at this time. You checked out the bodies, everything was great. Now you're going to open the gate without further questions."
The man nodded and looked back down at his clipboard.
"Okay, everything looks good." He went back into the booth and opened the gates with a click of a button.
"Regina Phalange?" Jordan asked me.
"What? You've never seen Friends?"
He laughed and shook his head.
Once we got to the building, he back up to the back door where orderly's inside would unload the bodies.
After they were unloaded we waited in the van for the rest of the night to roll out. They've got 15 minutes for Kira to do the brownout and get through the closed unit. Then five minutes to get Lydia and get out before the system reboots back to normal.
"Brianna," Parrish whispered.
"What?" I asked him, copying his whisper.
"There's more guards showing up, look in the mirror."
I looked to my right in the side mirror, seeing guards back at the booth eyeing our car suspiciously.
"Don't go. I've got this."
I gripped the handle and pushed open the door. I jumped out and approached them with a smile on my face.
"Miss, I'm going to have to ask you to move your van," One of the men said.
"Sorry, I can't do that," I said in a calm voice.
"What the hell?!" Another one of them yelled. I looked at him and saw the fear in his eyes as he looked behind me.
I turned around and saw a burning Parrish going into the building.
"Shit."

Karacatoa - Descent into Madness
As warm and bright the Sun is, as cold and dark the void is. And as much as one can be hopeful, so much is the depth of despair. Being strong isn't about strength - it is about taking advantage of what you have, be it the light or dark. _ Lesson 1, Karacatoa.
8 231The Many Blades of Wuxia
Hundreds of years after the Heretic wars ended, life has returned to its blissful ignorant state that only peace could bring. Whilst the never-ending war between Man, Beast and Mutant rages on, most are not even aware of a war that happened between men. Its prophecies shattered, their remnants surviving only in obscure bard tales. One is about to grow. On the cracked face of the world, Essence storms and Beast Waves keep the citizenry locked atop the Emperor city of Qaelang. Knowledge of the past is as rare as the metals that flow into the hands of Sacred Artists and at the root of it all are whispers of a malignant force, ancient and terrible. Holding humanity back from achieving greatness, but hiding too are secrets best left untouched. Balance, discipline and order have held Qaelang secure since time immemorial, the powers within claiming to adhere to them. None are more fearful of change than the ones with the most to lose, but change is coming. Blade of Wuxia is a long character-focused epic fantasy with progression and growth. It's about a boy's quest to become powerful enough to save those he cares most for and give them a better life. It's set in a world of hidden pasts and uncovering them will set him on a path that shakes the Empire. As this is a rewrite that took on a wildly different spin, reviews are most welcome and help me do better. What can the reader expect? A Wuxia society set in a High fantasy world. People are only doing what they know and may have mistaken beliefs. A clever resourceful protagonist with human flaws A far-reaching hidden fantasy world, rich in history. Multiple points of view are used to follow the story to its natural conclusions, not every NPC has all the answers, but there is one MC in this book. Progression will take time and sometimes even unknowingly. MC is not trained in the ways and knowledge must be tempered against experimentation. Release Schedule. 2 chapters a week, family and work permitting. Only if I'm happy with the chapter will I release it. That being said I am open to revision should an articulated critical response show merit. This story is not completed yet but I do have a general idea of what the end looks like for both MC's (yes both) Ultimately feedback will be most influential on the progression of release as it's you guys I'm looking to entertain. Expected Changes None really, I'm writing as I go and have a path planned for 6 books Chapter release rate might change if we take off and feedback starts flowing, but for now, it is just about making sure Arcs flow smoothly onto the next. Cover, yes absolutely! If there is enough interest I will open a Patreon account and use the first proceeds to commission an EPIC cover and hopefully a few scary artworks of our brave Cultivators and the foes they face.
