《Complete // Stiles Stilinski [3]》9

Brianna scoped out the entire locker room. Examining every inch of the place. She knew that the Dread Doctors were coming. She knew exactly what would take place tonight, and there was nothing she could do to stop it.
At least, she thinks she know's what will happen tonight. The night before she had a very specific dream. She experienced everything that would happen tonight. She knew that Parrish's devices would not keep the Dread Doctors out, that Scott would not capture a Dread Doctor. She knew that Josh's body would be taken by Parrish. Yes, she knew it was Parrish. Why him was still uncertain.
She wanted to stop everything that would happen. But she knows that everything happens for a reason. What if I try and stop it, but that would lead to what really happens tonight? She thought. It's just like in the movies. Someone tries to change the past or prevent something in the future, but their reasoning's are what makes the event they're trying to change, happen.
There was nothing she could do that could stop Liam and Hayden from being taken by the Dread Doctors. There was nothing she could do that would stop herself, from being taken.
Brianna was laying on a bench, throwing a lacrosse ball up in the air. She was trying to keep herself occupied. Trying to keep her mind away from what will happen.
"Brianna," Lydia whispered to her. Brianna sat up, looking around the room till she layed eyes on Lydia and Scott who were on the other side of the room.
Brianna took a quick glace to Liam and Hayden who were talking to each other before making her way to Lydia and Scott.
"I was just thinking since we can't use our phones, we can't check in on Theo and Stiles," Lydia explained.
"I didn't even think about that," Scott shook his head.
"Me either," Brianna said, very nervous about Stiles. Her dream never showed Theo or Stiles. What if Parrish does something to them before taking Josh's body? What if Stiles gets hurt?
"So we're standing here waiting for guys in masks and breathing tubes to show up. But who or what are Stiles and Theo waiting for?" Lydia questioned.
"The Dread Doctors aren't taking the bodies," said Brianna, shocking Lydia and Scott.
"How do you know what?" Scott asked her.
"Well, if they are killing the chimera's, why don't they just take the bodies right when they kill them?" Brianna came up with an excuse off the top of her head. "Why would they wait a few hours to come back and take the bodies?"
"If they're not taking the bodies..." Scott paused. "Who is?"
An hour went by of nothing but waiting. Everyone was tired, Hayden had even fallen asleep. Brianna was getting antsy wondering when they would make their appearance.
They don't turn the AC on during the night so it was very hot in the room. Brianna had taken off her hoodie and thrown it to the ground, wiping sweat from her forehead.
Liam was sitting on the floor, Hayden's head upon his shoulder. His eyes trailed down to her and a smile fell upon his lips. When he looked up, his eyes caught a bag sitting on the bench. His smile faltered and confusion appeared on his face.
He moved slowly, trying his best not to wake up Hayden. He looked over his shoulder at the three seniors who were doing their own thing, and stood beside the bag. He unzipped it and pulled the chains out. The noise they made turned everyone's attention to him.

"What were you going to do with these?" Liam asked Scott who was slowly approaching him.
"Brought them just in case," Scott replied smoothly.
"Is case of what?" Liam asked, his voice getting louder.
"In case we had a chance to catch one of them," said Lydia.
Scott walked closer to him. "If we can't make the school a fortress, then maybe we can make it a trap."
Liam nodded to Hayden and said, "They're coming for her, doesn't that mean she's the bait?"
By this time, Hayden had woken up. She held a terrified, but angry look on her face.
Liam slammed the chains back down into the bag.
"Liam," Lydia said cautiously. "We brought her here to protect her."
Liam nodded, "And now she's bait."
Hayden stood up. "Am I?"
"No. No one's bait," Scott defended. "But we can't be bodyguards to everyone every night."
"Then why aren't we talking to Stiles's dad? Why aren't we doing something better than hiding in a school?" Liam was angry.
"Because we still don't know anything about them or what they want, okay? They're winning and we don't even know what the game is."
"What if they come in here and those things don't work?" Liam pointed to one of the jammers. "What if you have an asthma attack again? What are we gonna do?"
"I don't know," Scott said quietly.
"This plan sucks!" Liam yelled.
"You got a better one?" Scott asked. Liam's face relaxed as he realized he had no answer. "Kid's are dying! And she's next. So, somebody has to do something. Somebody has to save everyone. So somebody's got to be the bait!"
Brianna closed her eyes, mentally face palming at what Scott said. Scott realized what he said but there was nothing he could do now. He couldn't take back what was already said. His head fell to the ground in shame.
Liam came closer to Scott so they could talk privately. "Scott. Promise me you'll do everything you can to save her. Scott... Promise."
Scott looked him right in the eyes and said, "I'll do everything I can. I promise."
"Guys..." Hayden said, digging through her bag. "I think I might need a little help right now. I forgot my pills. I have a bottle in my locker. I-I can get them, but..."
"I'll get them," Brianna offered. "What's your combo?"
Brianna thought that if she went and got the pills, something might change tonight. Scott was the one to get them in her dream.
"No, I'll get them. I think you should stay here," Scott argued.
"Scott-"
"It's okay, Bri. Just stay here with them." Brianna found no use to argue with him so she let Scott go.
"5, 25, 16," Hayden said.
Brianna helped Scott move the things from the door. Scott opened the door and left the locker room.
"Hurry. I'll keep watch," Lydia said to him.
Brianna left Lydia by the door and went back to where Hayden and Liam were.
"What ever happens tonight, don't be scared. We look out for each other, got it?" Brianna said to them and they nodded.
While Brianna was talking to them, they didn't even notice Lydia wonder off into the hallway. Her and Scott both being pulled into the mind game the Dread Doctors were pulling. The same game they did to Malia, minutes before.
"Guys, did you hear that?" Liam whispered.

Brianna heard it. She knew that they were here.
"They're here, aren't they?" Hayden whispered in fear. "They're at the school?"
Liam slowly walked in the direction of the door, a scared look on his face as he whispered, "Scott? Lydia?" But there was no answer from either.
Lights flickered from the other side of the door before it opened. Brianna grabbed Liam by the wrist and pulled him backwards to Hayden. She knew that this was it.
Once the door was completely opened, they saw one standing there. His body moving as if it were just a hologram glitching.
"Get behind me," Brianna said, stepping in front of the two sophomores. She held her arms out so Liam wouldn't try anything.
"What are you doing? We have to do something!" Liam whispered in a frantic. The other two Dread Doctors now entered into the locker room, inching their way closer to the three.
"It's too late," she whispered.
Brianna kept her arms out and her head held high, showing no fear towards them as she stared them down. Liam's eyes wandered to a jammer that was sitting on top of a locker. The Dread Doctor with the cane swiped it off the top making it fall apart to pieces once it hit the ground.
"We are on a frequency you can't possibly imagine," one of them said, as if it were taunting them.
That same Dread Doctor lifted its hand up to Brianna's face. The tips of his fingers glowed and screamed a high pitched noise knocking the three of them unconscious. Right before they hit the ground, they all disappeared. Along with the Dread Doctors.
Lydia and Malia were the first to arrive. Scott and Mason soon running in behind them.
"They're gone," said Lydia.
"Hayden, Liam, and Brianna are gone," Malia said.
Scott pushed him self pass the two girls, running and picking up Brianna's hoodie. He brought it up to his face, in haling her scent.
"Did you get something?" Malia asked. He nodded, dropping it back on the ground and ran out of the school.
Mason knew that Liam had clothes in his locker so Malia used that to find a scent. Each scent pulled Malia and Scott to the woods but it lead to nothing.
Scott came to the edge of a cliff over looking Beacon County. He knelt to the ground and let out a loud roar, leading Malia to his side.
"There's no scent. No tracks. No way to find 'em," Scott said out of breath.
"But Liam can howl back, right?" Malia asked him.
Scott looked up at the scenery in front of him. The huge town of Beacon Hills.
"Only if he heard me."

Theo lowered Stiles's jeep back down to the ground. Having to flip it back over himself after Parrish flipped it and took Josh's body. Neither of them aware of what has happened at the school.
"We should get you to the hospital," Theo said to Stiles who was sitting on the ground in front of the door to the vet. "You took in a lot of smoke."
Stiles shook his head and slowly got up muttering an, "I'm fine."
He exhaled as he took a look at his jeep. It was not in good shape.
"Suspect in 1-8-7 is in custody and en route to station. Suspects name is Yuimura, Kira," Dispatch said through Stiles's police radio.
"What's a 1-8-7?" Theo asked.
"Homicide."
Theo's phone rang in his pocket. He pulled it out and read the contact, Lydia Martin, and showed the screen to Stiles before answering it.
"Hey, Lydia. How'd everything go?" Theo asked once he put it on speaker.
"Give the phone to Stiles," she ordered. She had to call Theo since Stiles's phone was inside, supposed to be giving Theo and Stiles eyes on Josh's body. Obviously, that didn't work out.
Theo and Stiles both shared a worried look. Stiles took his phone, taking it off speaker phone and held it to his ear.
"Hey, Lyds. What's the matter?" Stiles walked off to the side so he could talk to her privately. But he had a feeling Theo would still listen in.
"T-They took them," she stuttered.
"W-what are you talking about?" Stiles was utterly confused.
"The plan didn't work. The Dread Doctors t-they took Liam and Hayden and..." Lydia paused, taking in a deep breath.
"A-and what, Lydia? Spit it out." Stiles was freaking out at this point. He could feel it once she said something was wrong. Something happened to the girl he loves.
"They took Brianna too."
Stiles felt his heart drop to his stomach. His hands began to shake as he dropped the phone to the ground.
He stumbled back a bit till his feet hit the curb and he sat down. He placed his elbows on top of his knees and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Dammit!" He yelled angrily, hitting his hand down hard on the pavement.
Lydia was still talking through the phone, trying to get Stiles to hear her. "Stiles? Stiles?!"
Theo rushed over and picked up the phone.
While Stiles stayed silent, trying to calm himself down and not have a panic attack, which he was very close to, Lydia explained to Theo that Scott and Malia had been out for a long time trying to find them but each lead was a dead end. As of now, they're all going to Scott's house in a couple hours to figure out a plan.
Theo tried to talk to Stiles but it was no use. Stiles just ignored him, getting his phone from inside and getting into his jeep
"Stiles, we'll find them," Theo said, leaning his arms onto the window of the drivers seat. Stiles rolled his eyes and stuck his keys into the ignition. To his surprise, his jeep actually started.
I guess the huge flip Parrish did didn't mess up the jeep any more than it already was.
I sent one final silent glare to Theo before I backed out of the vet and pulled out onto the road. I took a glance in the rear view mirror and saw Theo's blood splattered on my face. I fixed the mirror angrily and focused on getting back to my house.
I slammed the door shut as I got out of my jeep. Fumbling my keys out of my pocket trying to get the door open. I went straight to the bathroom across from my bedroom.
I turned the light on and closed the door behind me. I sighed heavily as I turned on the shower. I placed my hands on the sink, my head hanging low as I waited for the shower to warm up.
She-she can't be gone.
I took a deep breath before stripping off my clothes and getting in the shower. I placed one hand on the wall for support as I let the warm water run down my body.
"You know, she really shouldn't be giving us a test the week we come back from break. Like, did she really expect us to actually read the second book over the summer," Brianna mumbled as she brushed her teeth.
"Babe," I stuck my head out of the shower curtain. "You signed up for her class the next year, if she asked you to read the book, you should have read the book."
She gave me a glare and crossed her arms over her chest. She was trying to look mean but she just looked too damn cute. Standing there in nothing but my T-Shirt.
"Who's side are you on? Don't argue with me on this, I will get in there with you," she said as if it would scare me.
"You're adorable." I gave her a wink and pulled the curtain closed.
"Fine." She began mumbling and I could hear her moving around on the other side. Next thing I know, she's pulling back the curtain and is standing with me in the shower.
Her presence shocked me and I jumped back. But then I couldn't help eye her up and down.
"Like what you see?" She teased and closed the space to where our bodies were touching and the water sprinkled down her body.
I was speechless, words literally were not forming in my brain.
"Relax," She ran her hands up my chest then wrapped them around the back of my neck. She pulled me down to where our faces were almost touching and whispered in my ear, "You've seen me naked plenty of times."
I could still feel her hands on me, her lips on mine. It was like she's not even gone. But she is...

Or maybe he'll turn to the dark side and end up a villain? Molting the Mortal Coil is more of a slower paced journey. It's not about endless battles and conquering the next bad guy who spits on the main characters shoes or sends him a funny look. There's also not a treadmill of tournaments or love interests. It's more of a slower burn with lots of, and hopefully not too much, world building. It's still supposed to be stuffed with action, but that won't pick up for a while since we start with a weakling. The first 30 chapters have a lot of time-skipping, but stay with me it gets better. I plan to re-write and add more to the first 30 in the future, but if you can push through I feel it gets much more fun after! Updates will be weekly.
