《Another War》Prologue

PROLOGUE

Percy ran through the endless maze. His sword, Riptide glistening in his hand and its metal emitting silver light which lit the dark corridor.

He was panting hard, his ruined leg paining ten times worse than it was paining before. The grip on his sword was slowly slipping due to sweat and lack of energy. He knew that he couldn't escape from the ladies but still it was a try.

He would have been extremely surprised if somebody, a warrior to be exact told him, "Stand down. I'll take care of the rest for you."

Gosh, he sounded like those princess which the Aphrodite Cabin loves to talk about.

Thinking all of these extremely silly thoughts, which if occurred would be simply a miraculous miracle, he realized that he came back to the place where he had started running from, the workshop of Daedalus.

After that dude had died, all of his inventions had been burned by the Titan Lord. So Percy couldn't find any weapon for defending himself.

He examined the ruins for any weapon. He was about to pick up a half-melted dagger when he heard,

"Ssssssssss"

Percy turned around, only to meet with two empousa.

He would have sworn that they looked worse than the Goode High School ones. And by worse, he meant more aggressive and beautiful with their mismatched legs. (Please notice the beautiful sarcasm intended here)

Empousa #1 attacked him with her club raised. Percy steadied himself and got into a defence position. He had no energy for attacking anybody. The last of his nectar and ambrosia stock had finished.

The monster aimed a blow over Percy's head who escaped it by side-stepping and immediately plunged his sword deeply by the side of it. The monster, instead of disintegrating into dust, burst into flames.

He was confused but he had no time for these to think about as Empousa #2 charged forward with her spear aimed towards him. She let out a battle cry with her teeth bared. It might have looked funny if not for the Greek fire burning at tip of the spear. She didn't do anything but just threw the spear towards him aimed at his leg. But Percy was too slow and his movements were sluggish.

The spear impaled Percy in the thigh.

For a moment he felt nothing but immense pain. Slowly an icy cold sensation started spreading from his thigh to other parts of his body. He was just feeling numb. He slowly closed his eyes, tears escaping from them, as he prayed, "Sorry Wise Girl. It looks like we won't be meeting again. I hope I have to wait for a long time to see in Elysium."

The only thing before blacking out he heard was the maniacal laugh of the empousa.

Well! Here is my prologue. I really hope that you liked it. This one is a bit small chapter but I'll try to update bigger chapters next time. Please review! Tell me if it is excellent, good, average or bad story. The reviews will decide that whether I'll update any more of my story. Thanks!
