Gwen couldn't feel her own body anymore. she was exhausted and didn't have the strength to do it anymore. Her mind drifted to her sister as she replayed the night over and over again, she didn't hit her neck on the boat she hit her arm. That would have killed her, oh my god her sister was still alive out there somewhere. That also explained why the town appeared unmoved when not around her. It was an act. Her sister abandoned her. Tears rolled down her cheeks as this was what broke her, "Finally you snap," a bugman's voice hissed, "NO I just figured out my twin abandoned me and led me to believe she was dead. I'm more mad that my twin, my best friend, lied to me," taking pity on this girl as he was indeed a twin he handed her a small chunk of his bread, "Thank you," "Just don't tell the others I have a soft side," "Your secrets safe with me."
While trying to plan a system to get in they hear a knock at the door, "Come in!" Kirk yelled, turning away from the admiral, it was like looking at a ghost Gwyenneth was standing there, "Admiral you sent for me?" "Yes Cayla but I believe you owe Gwyenneth's friends an explanation," "I pretended to be dead as a way to escape that town. Gwen didn't want to leave so I begged the others to tell her I'd died. She would probably be furious when she figures it out but I was asked to be her as I'm not leaving my twin behind," "Join the club we're almost done figuring it out," that's when the repensative spoke up, "The likelihood of her surviving is zero to none she's probably already dead." tempers riding high James decked the guy yelling, "We never leave a crew member behind how dare you even suggest that!" "Captain, calm down. I'm beginning to believe there is more to your relationship with Gwyenneth than your telling us," "Jim you've got to tell him the cat is out of the bag," "Fine we're engaged. I asked her just two nights ago," "Oh that explains why you are so worked up over it. We promise we will do everything to bring her back to you and Cayla."

They got it. They had there plan to not only bust Gwynneth out of there but the other prisoners to it was worth the wait. Plan in motion they apprehend the cult and one by one freed the hundreds of prisoners but Gwen wasn't amongst them. "Have you seen a star fleet officer by the name Gwynneth Congdon-Williams?" "Yeah she was dragged that way she put up one hell of a fight. We warned her against it but she didn't," out of nowhere the building began to shake rapidly. They got the word to evacuate but James didn't listen and ordered Scotty to keep a lock on him but he was finding Gwen. pushing aside a fallen door he found an archway with a bug man crushed under the door, slipping inside he saw blood on the floor leaking out from behind a piece of fallen rumble. Heart pounding he pushed it aside and saw Gwen lying lifeless on the floor.
"Hey Gwen, Gwen can you hear me?" "James?" she muttered, turning to squint at the shadow leaning over her. "Can you stand up?" "I think so but I can't see anything," she mumbled as James pulled her arm around his shoulders to pull her up, he heard her whimpers of pain. This wasn't fair she was on the brink of death and this wasn't fare torturing her anymore, "No you can't I no you don't like it but tough," he swept out her legs and scooped her up bridal style to carry her into the corridor, "Scotty I found her beam us up." When he opened his eyes again they were in the transporter room of the Enterprise with Bones waiting for them. The medical team leapt into action and Gwen was whisked to sick bay in the blink of an eye. Bones left with them leaving just Spock, Scotty and Kirk in the transporter room, "James you might wanna change your shirt," Scotty politely suggested, "Correction he needs to change his shirt your covered in her blood," Spock said coldly, "He's not joking Jim your shirt is covered better get it off before you were mistaken for a dreaded red shirt," he noiselessly nodded as he returned to his quarters. Under normal circumstances he would of laughed but not this time. Cayla bumped into him and asked if she found her sister, "Captain did you find her?" "We did she's on the journey for a rough ride," "Cayla thank god we've been looking all over for you, we need you in sickbay I'll explain on the way," Bones yelled grabbing Cayla's arm. Kirk quietly followed and waited outside the door. Their conversation was short but he heard every word, "Gwynneth needs a transfusion. It's best if the donor shares certain chromosomes but we have her identical twin. If you'd be willing?" "Of course if it means i can apologize to her."

He didn't want to look through the glass at what was happening, no one noticed him sitting just behind the broken door as the medical staff zipped in and out of the room. "Jim, how long were you sitting there?" "Since you asked to see Cayla, I can only imagine what Gwen's reaction would be when she sees her twin again," "And you. She has extensive internal trauma, broken ribs, fractured sternum, dislocated shoulder. It was a miracle she survived long enough for us to get there. She must be lucky," "Not lucky she fought like hell to stay alive and we are not going to put that down to sheer luck," James snapped clutching the ribbon that fell out of her hair. "Jim you can go in to see her, you can talk to her. she might not talk back till the near future but you can still see her. We had to put her in a medically induced coma she was in so much pain. "Go jim don't let me tell you again," bones said opening the door for him. She was too still, too lifeless, a face once filled with joy now slept in sorrow. "Hey Gwen. your sister is here, we were all shocked to see her alive but here she is. She didn't abandon you, she came back to help us find you. I want you to come back, yell at me for being so stupid for yelling at an admiral, laugh with us again in ten forward, love me again. You are all the family I have. Gwen you can't leave me," he pleaded gripping her hand in his. Tears flowed in rivers and oceans down his cheeks as he pleaded with her not to leave him. "Captain, you have a ship to run. I suggest you take a few minutes to pull yourself together and," "Tell me when she wakes up," "You'll be the first to know I promise," he had a smile on his face for the first time in a while. Not all the crew knew of Gwynneth and the captain so he had to pull it together so he could tell them with her at his side.

Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)
