《The Gifted Seer (Bk 1 of Seer Series) (Completed)》Chapter 25 (Edited)

"You are late," Ms. Gables said when I walked into the room. She didn't look up from whatever she was doing on a piece of paper in front of her. "Do you want another hour of detention?" A bit of disgust sounded in her voice, as if she hated the fact that I would be there.
I sighed and sat down my normal seat and looked at the board to see that there were different things written on it. I studied it for a minute, trying to make sense of the jumbled up mess. "What's up with the board?" I asked, not wanting to answer that question.
Ms. Gables frowned. "Don't change the subject, Miss Lone," she warned, looking up at me over her glasses. "Do you want another hour of detention?"
"Do you want him to be mad at you because you held me longer than you should've?" I challenged, raising an eyebrow. I studied her for a minute before cocking my head. "Why do you hate me so much?" I was curious. I mean, I knew that I didn't anything to her, but she treated me like crap.
Ms. Gables stiffened and placed the papers on her desk. I had not asked her that before, and I surprised her because I was so blunt about. "What do you mean?" she asked. She tried playing the dumb card, which didn't sit well with me.
I shook my head, not answering her. She knew what I meant, but she acted as she didn't. "Never mind," I said. "You should know what I mean. If you don't, then it is your fault." I shook my head again before, grabbing my bag and standing.
"Where do you think you are going?"
"Away from here," I replied. I pulled my bag on my back and raised an eyebrow, looking at her still frowned. "Are you going to drive me to the Pub or should I just walk?"

Ms. Gables frowned. "You have detention."
"And we both know that I will get pissed at you if I am with you for two hours alone. We both know that it wouldn't be a pretty sight." With that I walked out of the room. I paused and looked at her. "You, also, might want to erase those off of your board." With that, I started to walk away from the building.
"Stupid girl," I heard her mutter before there was the sound of erasing happened. "Wait right there."
"I will wait for you outside," I called. "I want to see my dog." A smile appeared on my face when I thought of Cody. He was basically the only living thing that I had owned all of my life.
"Fine. Be by my car don't get in."
I smirked, glad that I wouldn't actually be doing detention. "Ya, ya."

I glanced around outside, my body relaxing instantly while I took a deep breath and let it out. I whistled the tune that I had told Cody to listen to, hoping that he would come to me. While I was doing that, I had started to walk to where I thought she would park her car.
I heard a whimpering sound and saw a two dark brown eyes staring at me underneath a mat of black fur. "You didn't come out when others did, and I was almost taken," Cody said, coming over to me from wherever he was hiding.
I frowned and kneeled down, making sure that he hadn't been hurt. "I had detention," I muttered.
"With?" Cody asked, cocking his head. He studied the grimace on my face and then looked behind me to see Ms. Gables. "Oh," he said. He cocked his head. He flicked his ears towards my stomach and frowned, when he heard it growl. "You didn't eat," he stated.

"You didn't?" Ms. Gables asked when she got close to us. There was a frown on her face as if she was studying me for the first time. "You are not anorexic are you?" She blinked, probably seeing the first time how skinny I was.
I shook my head no. "We just haven't had the money to properly get food. We use a truck that comes about once a month and then me getting food by hunting." I stood up. "Most of the time it's either Dad or Mom eating if we don't have that much." A small scowl appeared on my face. "Like you would care. Come on, we got to go. He is probably pissed that I wasn't there with the group."
With that, I walked to her car and got into the back with Cody. I didn't say a word to her while she got into the car and pulled my hood over my face. I leaned back in the car with Cody's head on my lap.
It was times like these that I wish I had some sort of music source, because I didn't want to talk to her. I sighed and Cody whimpered slightly when he heard my stomach growl again. I scratched behind his ear, making him look up me with his brown eyes. I forced a smile on my face, trying to hide the fact that I did want to eat something. "I'll be fine," I whispered, making sure that Ms. Gables didn't hear me. "I've survived longer without any meals."
Cody whined again, hating the fact that what I had said was the truth. He stretched out and yawned, again, before falling asleep in my lap.
Silly dog.

So, why does Ms. Gables hate Joes? Does anyone have any ideas? Also, how do you like Cody? And, what do you think will happen next?
Anyways, peace up Fluffy Munchkins,
