"No."
The answer that came out of Namjoon's mouth was just as you expected. You closed your eyes and let out a soft sigh.
"This is the only way. Let's just give it a try."
"No."
"Stop being so stubborn."
"Look little kitten. I'm not going to take the risk and end up losing you."
"Then would you rather have both of us suffer? In the end, one of us have to die?"
Namjoon parted his lips to say something but closed it back. He chose to remain silent as he tried to think of your opinion. You've got the point after all but he still wasn't willing to try it.
"It's worth a try," you told him with a smile, trying to assure him that it will be fine. He knew you weren't going to accept any of his reasonings to tell you it's a bad idea so he just gave in.

Namjoon was allowed to leave the hospital the next night. Seokjin and Min had joined to help him pack his things up and bring him home. Although Min was in his cat form, he still managed to help out in his catly ways.
You were obviously there to help as well but being extremely quiet as you tried to figure out how to tell the older two. For sure, you knew your brother would straight out say no to your idea.
And that was exactly what happened when you told him once all of you had settled in Namjoon's house.
"But oppa-"
"No buts, young lady. Do you know what you are getting into? You are literally letting that music to consume your heart."
"That's the only way to solve this problem. I don't want to risk it. Besides if I don't then Namjoon would be suffering. It's one or another."
Seokjin ruffled his hair in frustration. He didn't know what to do. One is his precious gift and another is his beloved sister. There's no way he could choose over the other but there's no way he could bear to see one of them suffer.
"It's Taehyung who said it. He's the creator of fate, right? I'm sure he knows what he's saying."

Seokjin let out a sigh and nodded his head. True Taehyung had always known everything. From beginning to end. However, he's just afraid that something might go wrong and the outcome could lead to a dreadful tragedy.
"Oppa... please. We should try. It's better than nothing."
Seokjin pressed his lips together as he tried to give it a thought.
"Fine..."
He glanced at Namjoon and Min who had been waiting for the two of you at the side. They didn't know if it was appropriate to join in the conversation. So when he glanced at them, they kind of looked less tensed and joined you two.
Min asked you to close your eyes and that's what you did. He mumbled some words that you couldn't understand. You were definitely curious and you continued to keep your eye close. It was only when you felt a light pang in your chest that your eyes flapped open.
You gasped for air and fell onto the floor on your knees. You clutched your shirt tightly because you felt the need to grasp hold of something. Seokjin knelt down beside you and worriedly glanced at Min.
"It's because this is a forced target. She's consciously aware that she's a target. That's why this happen. The pain will be gone soon but... it might get worse after hearing the flute. Will you be okay, child?"
Your breathing pace was out of place and you were feeling dizzy. You looked at Namjoon who was freaking out. Nonetheless, you nodded your head and smiled, looking at him.
Just like Min said, you felt a bit better. You were drenched in sweat and you leaned back against your brother's chest, who held you in his arms. You started breathing normally again and that meant that it was time for Namjoon to play his flute.
"I'll be fine. Trust me."
He knelt down before you and moved your hair out of your face. He tugged it behind your ear and caressed your cheek.
"Remember, (Y/N). Everything you will see from now on is an illusion. Nothing is true and always remember that I love you."
You nodded your head smiled. You got up so that you were sitting and you placed your forehead against his. Nose touching and breath brushing against each other's skin.

"I love you too."
He pulled you into a hug and it took a while before he decided that he should let you go. He studied your face one last time and you nodded at him, telling him that you were ready.
He stood up and pressed the flute against his lips. The music entered your ears as usual and entered your heart. The sweet sound was wonderful to hear until your heart started to vigorously hit against your chest. You coughed and touched your head which was starting to give you painful headaches like someone was hitting you with a hammer.
Namjoon stopped playing and Seokjin was holding your shoulders, trying to help in any way he could think of.
"Continue."
"But..." Namjoon studied your condition. He knew very well it would only get worse. He held the flute tightly and was about to knelt down when you shot your head up and glared at him.
"Continue," you growled. Tears were streaming down your cheeks as the pain was unbearable. However, you couldn't afford to let this plan flop. "Please."
The three were taken aback. Namjoon clicked his tongue and brought the flute back to his mouth again.
You closed your eyes shut as you tried to surpass the pain. Your heart started beating rapidly, even faster than before and the headache was still there. When Namjoon finished the sound with the last note, you dropped back into your brother's arms and blacked out.
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
You shot your eyes opened and sat up. You found yourself in your own room. It was already morning when you realised it. You wondered how long you had passed out.
You patted your hands and realised that you were on your bed. You also noticed that you were wearing your pyjamas. You wondered what happened.
You touched your head. Headache was no longer there and your heart was beating in it's normal pace. Instead of just sitting on your bed, you decided to leave and figure out.
You washed up quickly and changed out of your clothes into proper ones. You headed out of your room and it felt strange. You didn't know why.
You headed down and saw two strangers in the dining room. One was a lady in her late 30s, wearing an apron and setting the meal on the table. Another was a man in his 40s, reading a newspaper. You stared at them while they turned to you and smiled sweetly.
"Sweetie, you are awake. Good morning." The lady spoke to you as she continued to place the plates on the table.
You blinked your eyes and stared at them confused. You didn't know who they were. You scanned the room but you couldn't find Seokjin.
"Umm... have you seen my brother?"
The man glanced up from his newspaper with an eyebrow raised.
"What are you talking about, (Y/N)? You are an only child."
You didn't know what to say. That was true but first of all, you didn't know why these two strangers were at your house. Secondly, Seokjin's missing.
"May I know who you guys are?"
The lady chuckled as she sat down beside the man.
"Sweetie, we are your parents. What are you talking about? Now, eat your breakfast and get changed. You have school. You will be late if you don't hurry."
'Parents?' you thought to yourself, 'But they died years ago.'
You turned and saw some photo frames on the table beside the television. You walked to there and picked one of them up. It was a picture of you when you were five but not with Seokjin. It was with the two people who claimed to be your parents. You didn't know and you couldn't tell since you've never met your parents before.
You placed it down and glanced at the other photographs as well. They were all pictures of you or you with your parents. All these pictures used to be you and Seokjin but now they had been replaced with these.
Somehow, your heart ached. You stared at them for a while and it suddenly made sense.
That was when you realised this was the illusion that Namjoon was talking about.
