《Pied Piper | {K.NJ}》Chapter 18

Min was confused when Seokjin suddenly popped up before him. Messy hair, sweaty and out of breath. He had been running and he wondered why the rush.
It was only when Seokjin explained to him that he had met Taehyung and the details of their conversation that he got the answer to his question.
They were trying to figure out a way to solve the problem. They wanted to make sure both Namjoon and you were safe. The thing that they didn't expect was that Namjoon heard everything and now the entire thing just became more messed up.

You noticed that your brother had been paying extra attention to you. He had always been protective but these days the amount just seemed to have doubled or even tripled. He asked you how you were feeling every 30 minutes and watched your every move. When you asked if something was wrong, he would just say he was curious.
Another strange thing was that it had almost been a week since you've heard Namjoon playing a flute. It just felt so strange and when you went to visit him, he's not there. You would find Min who would awkwardly be there to tell you that he was just busy and had something to do. You had a feeling that Namjoon was avoiding you and you hoped it's not.
You groaned and laid your head on the table. You had been getting enough sleep since there was no flute sound but it just felt so weird and you just feel like something's missing. And you didn't like the fact that you hadn't seen Namjoon at all.
Everyday went on as usual. You had school then you head home to have dinner with your brother and end the day. On Saturdays, you would either hang out with Jimin or just stay at home and watch movies. On Sundays, you would help out at Hoseok. It was the same as before. Before you met Namjoon. But now you felt empty and lonely. And you would end up stopping by his house only to know that he's not there.

You wondered where he could be. He was nowhere found in the neighbourhood as well. There wasn't any updates on the net either. All options of reaching him was out.
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
Days went on just like that and you spent it like you normally would. Expect that you would have Namjoon at the back of your mind. Hoping to see him along the way or something. But that didn't happen at all.
You were starting to get worried. You hoped that nothing had happened to him.
You woke up to another normal day except that it was a Saturday. Jimin dropped by to ask if you were okay and whether you wanted to hang out but you declined him politely once again.
You started to go out less often and sometimes didn't even go to Hoseok's cafe. Ate less. Slept less.
You headed to the kitchen as you craved for some soda. You opened the fridge but found none. Seokjin had forgotten to stock it up.
You let out a sigh and decided to head off to the nearest convenience store to buy some since you had nothing better to do anyways. You went up to get changed and grabbed your wallet before heading down again to leave.
You walked down the pavement which led to the store. You entered the place and went to the drinks section. You added what you wanted in your basket and went down the aisle. There you spotted yoghurts. A smile immediately creeped on your face as you thought of Namjoon buying you those and face masks before. You added those as well and went to the cashier.

You stepped out, carrying bags in your hand.
You turned on your heels suddenly and ended up bumping into someone. Luckily, you somehow managed to balance yourself.
"Little kitten?"
You looked up upon hearing his voice. Namjoon seemed rather shocked to find you standing before him. But you didn't really notice that for you were too overwhelmed with emotions.
Before he could say anything, your arms reached to wrap around his waist and you placed your face in his chest. Your heart was racing and you just wanted to make sure he was really there in front of you.

"I missed you."
He was about to hug you back but he hesitated and placed his hands on your shoulder. He pushed you away slightly and you looked at him confused.
"I'm sorry, little kitten. But I need to go home."
You weren't stupid enough to know what he was trying to do. You had enough of playing hide and seek. You didn't want any more of such nonsense.
"What? Okay now tell me honestly. Are you trying to avoid me?"
He gulped and looked away to avoid eye contact. You noticed how he was trying to come up with a reason.
"I just thought maybe it's better for you to be with Jimin."
Blood rushed to your brain, his words angering you.
You couldn't believe this was the person who actually told you that he loves you and was willing to accept you for anything and now he chooses to avoid you just because he thinks it's better that way.
"Are you kidding me now?"
"That's not what I meant, little kitt-"
"You confessed me just a few weeks ago and now you think oh it's better to be with Jimin?! Why? Am I not good enough? I would choose you over Jimin anytime but no I can't because you make the choice. You make the choice to appear before me looking so handsome, making me fall for you and even told me that you love me which I actually believed and now you are saying this?! So what? Are you trying to play me for a fool?"
"No. I won't ever do that. That's not what I meant."
"You know what, Namjoon. I get it. I get it now. This is your job from the start. You break hearts and now you broke mine. Are you happy now?"
You were absolutely speechless by the current situation. You wanted to add more but your heart couldn't take it. Your eyes were stinging and you wanted to just break down but you didn't want to. You didn't want to look like a mess before him. Not because of your pride or anything but because you love him way too much that you didn't want to accept the situation.
However, a tear just had to slip past your eye. You cursed and turned around. You just wanted to run back home quickly and just pour everything out. And that was what you did but he stopped you.
He grabbed your wrist and spun you around. You ended up in his arms and he wrapped his arms around you tightly and desperately. Your face was on his chest.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
You could hear his sincerity and desperation in his voice. You glanced up at him and saw that he was crying as well. You gasped and cupped his face. You wiped his tears off with your thumb.
"Don't cry. It's okay. I forgive you."
"No. No. It's my fault. I hurt you. I shouldn't have. I'm good for nothing."
"Don't say that. You are an amazing person."
He gave you a weak smile.
You smiled back at him warmly and your heart ached. You noticed how red and puffy his eyes were. Definitely not because of the crying just now but these were from days and days of crying. You realised how pale and skinny he had became as well. And there was something that made you shocked.
You placed your ears on his chest and listened. However, it was way too soft and the pace was definitely way too slow. You gasped and shot your head up to look at him. Your eyes widened.
"Namjoon, why is your heart beating like that?"
Namjoon hummed to ask what you were saying as he probably didn't hear it. His eyes were dropping and his breath was becoming shorter.
"N-Namjoon?" you asked worriedly as you noticed his condition becoming worse.
He caressed your cheek and smiled, his dimples flashing by the side. The smile that you love.
"I love you, (Y/N)."
And he blacked out in your arms.

Aaron couldn't do anything, he couldn't prescribe a search until he was sixteen. So, he made it a struggle for the world and went mute, he refused to speak a single word until he finds his sister. And he finally got a chance, his school invited him to a multi-school camp trip to The Kielder Forest, a very recognisable memory for Aaron as it was that forest he and his sister made memories in. No chances were wasted, he agreed and went on the camp trip with his chubby best friend, George. When he arrived at the forest, he felt off. Aaron knew something was entirely eerie about the forest that never felt this way ever before, but he was the only one who felt this way so he shrugged it off and went into the forest with multiple different schools from all around the UK. Meeting Lia Ann kept Aaron thinking about his sister as they had similar personalities. One night, adrenaline was high for Aaron and he decided to go to the cave he made memories with deep in the forest. Everything was intact and his friendship with Lia grew when they both encountered each other. So, normally, Aaron thought nothing of it and continued going back to the cave until one day he was ambushed by a liquid entity that wasn't human. It almost murdered him before he was saved by an unexpected guest, his sister, in pure flesh, was finally in front of him. Aaron wanted to know everything, he asked everything until one question did it for Aaron as he found himself passed out from the help of Althea's distant eyes and woke up in his tent by George. "Was it a dream?" He asks himself dreadfully. A question that will have him explore his character, his purpose, his beliefs, his trust, and his friendships. Will a dream break Aaron down and destroy him? Or will it build him up to be even stronger to find out how his sister went missing? And possibly, what or who may have murdered her?
