《Pied Piper | {K.NJ}》Chapter 17

You arrived back home and could hear Seokjin humming as you passed by the kitchen. You went inside the kitchen after keeping your things away.
"I'm back."
"Welcome back," he replied without turning back.
You smiled as the delicious smell of dinner that will be served soon entered your nostrils. You placed the flowers on the table top and grabbed your apron to help him.
However, he stopped you which made you look at him confused.
"Go wash up first."
"Fine Fine."
Satisfied with your answer, he smiled. He turned around and the first thing his eyes spotted was the camellia flowers on the table. You noticed his smile flattered.
"Where did you get that?"
He pointed at the flowers. His eyes fixed on it.
"I don't really know but he said he's Kim Taehyung and you know him."
"He's here," he muttered under his breath.
"What?"
He didn't reply to you and turned off the stove. He grabbed his coat which was hanging on the wall and folded it in his hand.
You stood at your spot as you watched your brother rushing here and there.
"Oppa where are you going?"
He turned the door knob and glanced at you quickly.
"I'm sorry but oppa has something important to do. The food is almost done. You just need to add flavouring and let it boil for a few minutes. Eat first. I'll be back soon."
Before you could even reply, he had already closed the door shut and left.
You looked at the camellia flowers.
"Who exactly are you?"
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
Seokjin ran down the alley. He didn't have any time to waste. He stopped when he saw Taehyung waiting for him with bouquet of pink camellias in his hand.
Seokjin walked over to him. Taehyung flashed a boxy grin and gave the flowers to him which Seokjin took without any comment.
He held the flowers tightly in his hand and looked at Taehyung. It had been too long and he had too many questions to ask which made him nervous to see him again.
"Relax, Seokjinnie. I thought you wanted to see me."
"I do but I wasn't expecting this soon."
"It seems so. Well, I assume you wanted to know about Namjoon's curse."
Seokjin nodded his head. It was something on his mind all the time. It was partially his fault since he didn't stay at the house to take care of them that night just like he promised Min.
"Min shouldn't have changed the first fate of Jungkook. This was his punishment. I warned you it's fated because of what he had done. An angel's gift and devil's gift shouldn't be left alone. You and Min can get along but not those two. They could've in the past but after the twisted fate, it wasn't the same. Due to that, emotions twist and he was meant to die. But I didn't expect Min to end up raging like that."

Seokjin listened to him quietly. He clenched onto the bouquet.
"Also..."
Seokjin's ears pricked when he heard him.
"Have you noticed anything different about (Y/N)'s health condition?"
"Health condition?"
"The more Namjoon plays his flute, the harder it will be for her heart to bear. It will be the same as Namjoon. The influential fate. I have no control over her fate because she was never supposed to exist. She creates her own fate which meant that staying with Namjoon might lead to her heart could be cracking without her knowing."
Seokjin's eyes widened and he dropped the flowers on the ground. He swallowed his saliva thickly as he tried to calm himself down so that he could at least think straight.
"Is there anything we can do?"
Taehyung tapped on his chin to act like he was thinking. A smile formed on his face which made Seokjin's eyes lit up with hope.
"There's always a way. I always have a way for everyone. I'm not that mean."
It's true. There's always a way. He always warned them before anything could happen but time didn't plan to wait and fate didn't seem to change. And Seokjin couldn't be more desperate.
"Please..."
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
You sat on the sofa in the living room, waiting for her brother to come back. You were starting to get worried as he was taking way too long.
You heard the door bell ring and it was strange for someone to actually visit at this hour. Nonetheless, you stood and went to answer the door.
You were surprised by the person standing before you.
"Jimin?"
He gave you a huge smile and you moved aside to let him in. He sat down on the sofa and you did the same. The atmosphere was too stiff that you didn't know what to say. Guilt was growing in you.
"What are you doing here this late?"
"I was bored and just wanted to visit. Is hyung not home?"
You shook your head. The two of you sat there without saying anything. It was getting rather awkward. You knew Jimin had something to say. He's not the type of person who would just visit someone this late at night. The thing was that you knew exactly what he wanted to ask.
"(Y/N)... why have you been ignoring me?"
However, you weren't ready to answer him yet.
You couldn't form words to reply to him. You looked down as you didn't dare to keep eye contact with him. You didn't have answers and you hated it. You wanted to say something. Anything.

You wet your lips nervously and just as you were about to say something he cut you off.
"Let's break up."
Time stopped when you heard his words.
"Do you like Namjoon, (Y/N)?"
Your eyes grew bigger and you turned to him, covering your mouth with your hand.
"I.. What? No..no.. I don't know."
You bit your bottom lip. You knew you should tell him everything. It wasn't going to change anything anyways but you didn't know how to phrase it. Nothing was coming up in your brain.
"It's okay, (Y/N)."
You blinked your eyes and looked at him. He was grinning at you. You couldn't believe he was smiling. He should be hating you, screaming or something not smiling like an angel.
"I'm sorry," you told him.
"It's not your fault."
"It is. I mean I have you and I kept on thinking about it. At first I thought it was just curiosity. It really was but I didn't expect it to turn out this way. I'm sorry. I know you hate me now."
He laughed and pulled you into a hug. A big cuddle and you were definitely confused with the entire situation. He rubbed his cheeks against yours and gave you a toothy grin.
"I won't hate you. I can never hate you. Of course I'm jealous. I mean I love you so much. He manages to get your attention within a few days while I tried hard for so many years to get your attention and love because I was worried it might hurt our friendship but you accepted it even though I knew it wasn't mutual. I'm happy if you are happy, (Y/N). You don't need to feel bad about it. It's your heart which chooses."
A lump was stuck in your throat. You didn't know what to say. You placed your face in his chest as tears rolled down your cheeks. He didn't notice you were crying until you sniffed a bit. He gasped and shifted a bit so that he could see your face.
"Why are you crying? Did I say something wrong?"
You shook your head and continued hiding your face. You couldn't bring yourself to look at him.
"I'm just... so touched. I'm still sorry though."
"Don't be."
He tickled your sides, making you laugh.
"I love your smile and I want to see it."
He giggled and patted your head as he continued holding you in your arms.
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
Jimin walked down the quiet street after meeting you. He passed by a boy who had a similar height as him, black hair, pale skin and small frame.
"Do you want me to erase it?" the boy asked.
He stopped walking.
"Your memories. Do you want me to erase it for you?"
He turned back to look at the boy and shook his head.
"But it will at least feel less painful if you forget her."
His lips formed into a smile and he shook his head again.
"It's okay, Min."
"You knew, child."
Jimin chuckled and nodded his head.
"Of course I knew you are not something ordinary."
Min hummed in agreement.
"The Pied Piper sure is an amazing person. He's handsome and tall. To be honest, I am kind of jealous."
Min listened to him without replying. He knew the boy needed someone to listen to him.
"(Y/N) was ignoring me today. I thought maybe I did something wrong or maybe she was not feeling well. I did have doubts that she didn't have feelings for me. Turns out to be true."
Jimin recalled the moments.
"I kind of knew she liked Namjoon. The way she talks about him and how she looks at him. The first time was when she was looking at him through the cafe window. Second time at her house during dinner. Third time inside the cafe. She even let go of my hand. And finally, today. She was having fun talking with him. Just being by his side made her happy. Her eyes were full of affection. Something I've never seen when she looks at me or any other person."
He studied the boy's expression. Instead of hatred or anything. His eyes were still full of innocence and hope. There wasn't even slight anger. Just adoration while talking about the person he loves.
Min didn't want those to fade away.
The first time they met, he had those same emotions in his eyes. Eyes that lit up brightly like the stars in the sky. Those that reminded him of Jungkook. It made him want to protect the boy.
Jimin giggled and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Sorry for babbling out. I'm sure you didn't want to listen."
"It's fine but why, child? Why would you want to put yourself in such pain when you could just let it go?"
Jimin looked up at the sky where the bright round moon was visible.
"Because I'll regret not being able to remember her. After all, she's a most precious memory that I wish to keep."
