"It seems Cat Grant's silence regarding the Catco hack is about to be broken. But will today's press conference be a victory for the magnate or a very sudden fall?"

Leah's eyes left the screen, turning to face her mother, the woman she called mom more than Astra, "Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Well, like taxes, aging, and participating in Martha Stewart's annual Secret Santa, this is something I have to do. I don't know what I'm going to do after this. I don't know if there is anything I can do."

Kara followed behind her, "I'm pretty sure you can do anything, Ms. Grant."

"Kerah." Cat turned around, "Whatever comes next, for what it's worth, you always have a job with me if you want it. Shall we?"

"Kara!" Katie called out, Winn, Lucy, and Jame running behind her, "Hey."

Kara looked at the group, "What are you guys doing here?"

"Saving the day!" Winn grins over at Leah.

James handed Cat a piece of paper, "Take a look at this."

"Where did you get this?"

Katie scratched the back of her head, "Ah, well..."

"It... You know, it's probably better if we don't tell you, Ms. Grant."

"From a legal standpoint," Lucy adds in.

"I recognize four out of the five of you."

"Uh, this is my girlfriend," James says.

"Lucy Lane."

Cat's head swivels to Kara, "Lois Lane's kid sister?"

"Yes."

"Well, congratulations, you got the looks." Cat's attention was back on Kara, "You launched this investigation of Dirk because?"

"Because I... I overheard something he said after the board... Actually, uh, it was what you said, about him, uh, smelling blood."

"Mmhmm." Cat wasn't all convinced, "Ker-rah, stall the press and tell that walking personification of white male privilege to come to my office."

Katie snorted, "Leah, your mom is great."

Cat smirked at Katie, walking into her office, "I know I am."

The group stood outside of Cat's office, waiting as Dirk spoke with her. Once they saw the guards come and take him out, Leah grinned, "Good, that guy was a dick."

"You did it."

"We all did it."

Kara and Leah walk off, probably going to get some stuff done for Cat Grant. Winn chased after Leah to give her a kiss goodbye. James leaned against the table, "Katie, I'm really sorry about before. I didn't... I didn't quite get it."

"Get what?"

"How lonely you are."

Katie looked up at James, her mouth opening, "Wha-No, that's-No, I have all you guys as my friends."

"Katie." James sighs, "Look, yeah we're your friends, but it's obvious that you want to be in a relationship, and it bothers you that everyone around you basically has someone. I understand."

Katie inhales, her eyes still on Winn and Leah, both instead of taking the elevator, walk to the stairs, "You and Lucy, Winn and Leah, how could you possibly understand?"

"I understand that everyone deserves someone." James sighs, "And you don't seem to be putting yourself out there, I'm sure any guy in National City would love to be with you."

"Hmm." Katie laughed lightly, "Yeah, the mutant freak who was born defected."

"Hey." James bumped her side, "Don't put yourself down like that. You, being a mutant, I think it's lucky."

"Enlighten me, Olsen."

"You were born with these extraordinary powers, that can help save people. You can do a lot of good with what you have. It doesn't make you a freak, it makes you special."

Katie grinned up at him, "I'm glad we became friends, James."

"Me too."

🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆

Leah stood next to her mother, her head draped over her shoulder, "You did great today, mom."

"Yeah, I did, didn't I." Cat moved away from her, "You and that little Hobbit seemed to be doing well."

"We are." Leah laughs, "And his name is Winn, mom."

"I know."

Kara walks in, handing Cat a form and a pen, "Oh, Ker-rah. Another week, another crisis averted thanks to you. My secret weapon, my guardian angel."

Kara became bashful, rubbing the back of her neck, "It was nothing."

"Oh, no. It was something. It was something extraordinary. You saved me from a potentially very embarrassing situation with Adam. You know, I was thinking, about how you overheard Dirk after the board meeting. I was standing right next to you and there is no way that he was within earshot."

Leah's eyes widen, as Kara stumbled, "Um-"

"And then I was thinking about the earthquake and how you got sick for the first time since I've known you. And you had a broken arm, and Supergirl mysteriously went MIA. And then she came back, and your cold was gone." Leah was almost glad that her mother was not accusing her of anything.

"That's just a coincidence."

"I was also thinking about Livewire. About how when she attacked us, you fled into the stairwell."

"That's because you asked me to."

"Yes. But not two seconds later, Supergirl shows up." Her eyes move to her adopted daughter, "And the day Captain Marvel first appeared was when you showed up in National City. Another coincidence?" Cat faced Kara again, "And let's not forget that you took it personally when I named her 'Supergirl'."

Leah gulped down nervously, "Well..."

"Sure, for... For political reasons."

"Do me a favor and take off your glasses," Cat says to the two blondes.

"My glass..." Kara breathes out, before chuckling nervously, "I'd... I'd be blind without them."

"I doubt that." Cat says, "If you're not who I think you are, what does it matter?"

Leah shrugs, pulling her glasses off, "You've seen me without them before mom."

Cat looked at Kara now, but Kara was more nervous about it, "Ms. Grant-"

"Glasses or I take it as a confirmation." Cat looked at the two, "Well, it's obvious my baby girl is not Captain Marvel, she looks nothing like her." Her eyes move to Kara, "Let me begin by saying thank you for all the help that you've given me, Supergirl."

Kara's phone went off, "Excuse me, I have to..."

"No, I'm sure it's very important. You should go."

When Kara was far enough away, Leah put her glasses back on and looked over at her mother, "You can't possibly believe Kara is Supergirl?"

"I am right, Leah." Cat looked at her daughter, "And I am sorry for mistaking you for Captain Marvel, I already believed Kara was Supergirl, but then I remembered our other superhero."

Katie came walking in, readjusting her glasses, "Uh, Leah, Winn was wondering when you'd be home."

"Oh." Leah looked back at her mom.

"Go." Cat smiled, "I've had enough fun for one night."

"Goodnight mom." Leah gave her a kiss on the cheek and followed Katie.

Katie glanced back, making sure Cat couldn't hear her, "Yeah, Winn is knocked out at home. Lord Technologies is being attacked and Kara didn't want to make it obvious that you were going with her."

"Yeah..." Leah cursed, "Mom thinks Kara is Supergirl, luckily because my mom has known me for so long, she doesn't believe I am Captain Marvel."

"But if you left at the same time as Kara it would have been a little obvious." Katie nods, "Yeah, I get it. Just hurry."

"I will." Leah ran to an area where she wouldn't be seen, before flying to the company under attack. Leah found Kara in the air, "You're getting slow."

"Just waiting for you to hurry up." Kara teased, both girls speeding ahead.

Leah could see her father as she neared the company, but went for the other alien attacking a DEO agent, while Kara flew straight into Non. Leah stood up, flying over to Kara, her eyes trained on her father.

"You remember me, little girl?" Non's question was directed toward Kara.

"You're Non. Astra's husband, my Uncle."

"To think that you're the last daughter of the once great House of El."

Leah glared at her father, "She's not the last one. I don't consider myself to be your daughter!" She flew at him, him doing the same, both spiraled out of the building. She held onto him, she pulled back her arm and landed a punch. Non swung his fist, punching his daughter in her stomach. She pulled onto him, lifting her leg, kicking him as hard as she could. Her head moved to the side, eyes widening, she pulled away from her father just in time, before the plane could hit them. She glared at him from the distance away, flying at him, but he grabbed her and forced her to plummet down to Earth, slamming her body below his. Kara came out to help, but Non grabbed Leah by the neck, lifting her in the air, "Your mother was wrong about you. You are as weak as any human."

"Don't hurt her." Kara pleaded, "She's your daughter."

Henshaw came out his gun pointed at him, but before he could shoot him. Non dropped Leah down to the floor, grabbing Hank instead. Alex aimed her gun, "Let him go."

Non fired his laser eyes at them, flying away with Hank in his hold. Kara ran over to Leah, "Are you okay?"

Tears spilled from Leah's eyes, she punched the floor, "My own father tried to-tried to-" She screamed out. Kara helped her up, looking at Alex, "I'm sorry we couldn't stop them."

The three females walked in to hear Max speak to one of the agents, "Stay away from up there."

"Max, we need to secure the area. This is an active crime scene."

"No, this is my property."

"This attack has been traumatic for all of us. They kidnapped my commanding officer."

Max walked closer to Alex, "I think the days of us partnering up are over, Agent Danvers."

"At least tell me what the aliens were looking for. They could least help us locate our man."

"Why don't you ask your pet aliens? They seem to be related to the man who instigated this attack." Max snaps, "As for me, I'll protect myself in the future. Now, get your jackboots off my grounds." Leah glared at him, but was pulled away by Kara before she could do anything.

🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆

Leah walked beside Kara and Alex, finally calming herself down, "Who's in charge now?"

"I don't know." Alex answered truthfully, "Hank classified the line of succession. We're implementing the emergency protocols now."

"Agent Danvers. Look." The screen popped up, revealing that Alex was the emergency director of the DEO.

Leah pursed her lips, "You two really did bury the hatchet, didn't you?"

"I want every satellite we have pointed at this city. Scan it block by block. And I want status updates every ten minutes."

Vasquez nods her head, "Yes, Director Danvers."

Alex sighs deeply, walking off, Kara jogs after her, leaving Leah to stand next to Agent Vasquez. She put her hands on the railing, thinking back, her father's eyes, he held no emotion as he looked at her. She remembered when she was a child, how he'd pick her up and play with her. How he'd always say how she was daddy's little girl, but now, he seemed to only want to destroy her total existence. She looked down to see that she had bent the metal of the railing.

"Captain Marvel." Leah turned her head to Kara, "We need your help for this."

Leah looked at her skeptically, "What?"

"We need you to talk with Astra." Kara pleads, "I already tried, but she only wants to talk with you."

Leah breaths in deeply, her eyes glossing over at the thought of speaking with her mother, "I'll do it. Only for Hank."

"Thank you," Alex whispers.

Leah opened the door, looking up at her mother, "Be careful, my precious daughter. These humans are fond of their Kryptonite toys."

"Where did fath-Non take Henshaw?"

"I spent years in Fort Rozz. It's going to take more than a stern voice to scare me."

"Maybe I can have Kal-El come down and the two of us can force you to talk."

"Kal-El doesn't have the stomach for it. He was raised on Earth. He might as well be human. You and Kara are the true heirs to the House of El."

"If you help me maybe I can help you."

Astra smiles at her daughter, "You're trying to manipulate my emotions. But you're undermined by your own fear."

"I'm not afraid of you," Leah says strongly.

"Not of me. Of the truth I hold... About your aunt."

Leah scoffs, "This has nothing to do with her. This is about saving a man's life. My Aunt Alura may not have been the woman I thought she was, but I know what you and Non are."

"Are you so certain of that? Did Non kill you today when he had the chance? I did not have to order him to spare you because blood bonds us all."

Leah shook her head, remembering the grip he had on her neck, "Those are empty words coming from you."

"If they were, you would not be alive."

Leah frowns, throwing her arms open, "If blood bonds us all, then why don't you just tell me where Henshaw is?"

"Because blood doesn't bond us to him."

"I couldn't disagree more." Leah stands tall, moving around the cage, "All life is bonded by blood."

"You speak of your human family. The ones who have caged me in here."

Leah pointed at her, "You've done with to yourself."

"Then you have chosen your side."
